Quick question: I'm looking for a good, reliable, and most importantly free software that will allow you to edit audio files. Does anyone have any suggestions for one?

Yeah, I'm fairly certain it can (been playing with it since late afternoon yesterday. The results are in the suggestions section, XD). I'll play with that late today and find out.

It does have a vocal removal option, but it doesn't appear to work well on music. It strips a good deal of the vocals, but it makes the music quiet, and it doesn't get all of the voice either.

I used a different, free software for my podcast when I had the time for it, but its name has been forgotten in time.
But, Audacity - for some reason - doesn't seem to allow me to move the sound files around so that I can make a proper "radio-ish" feel, though. It all begins playing simultaneously :<
I'mma see if I can find the one I used.

You have to individually mute the other selections of music if you don't want them all to play at once, otherwise they will. Then, to move selections of music, select the section you want (using the selection tool "I") and then cut it and delete the rest of the music that's there. Paste the selection back then use the time shift tool (looks like a double-headed arrow) to move that piece wherever you want it on the time line. You can put it in the same area as the rest of the music/sound you're trying to edit, or you can keep it separate,it doesn't matter because it will all export the same way as long as you don't choose "export selection".
