okay...guys...I need some MAJOR help here...-_-
I have:
several doodles i have scanned onto this computer..
and I have GIMP version 2.6.5

My problem:
GIMP is confusing me SO much. All I want to do is color in my scanned pencil drawn doodles so they don't look crappy. Can I do this? no.
I have tried: googling this and reading help manuals and all that crap, but nothing is working (maybe I'm just stupid, but I am SICK and TIRED of fiddling with this layer junk and all the stuff that make me a computer art program FAIL) -__-

Could someone please explain to me how to do this?

I want these to turn out as great as Lone (elemental) does it:

look, thanks to WWM, I learnt how to color my scanned pencil sketched on Gimp, look, my results

when I open a file on Gimp, I make a new transparent level, I zoom my image, and with the pencil tool (with the smalles or the one before the smalles pencil) I make the outlines, after or always with gimp or with photofiltre, I color my work, with Gimp is easy, after you've done the outlines, with the fill tool, fill everything with white, with the pencil tool choose your colors for the markings and do them and with the fill tool color them, after you have to go on levels-->merge levels and save in .png =) or if you want to color with photofiltre, after you have filled everything with white, merge the levels, save in .png and open it on photofiltre to color it =)

But I have to tell you: I sketch on the computer and line on the computer, all in paint xD

I DID have gimp along time ago >> but I got really confused with it so I stuck to paint :3 (well then I got photoshop, but I got a new laptop so back to paint xD

Anyway, Try this. It might work better. Inking it works better. (brush tool.)

New layer(The one you ink your drawing on.)
drawing(The drawing your inking. Don't ink on this layer.)
Background ( By default)

(which button do I go to, to add another layer?) how do I switch between layers?
