So, I was recently testing out my Cam Studio screen recorder and when I tried to get of of it, my mouse kept flashing and my computer screen spazzed out in a flashy green.

Could anyone help/explain what the problem is?

It's not Cam studio. (I doubt.) It sounds like your graphics card is starting to get worn out. If its the only program that causes it, maby your graphics card can't handle it.

The program's brand new, so I don't believe that's it.

And what's this about a graphic card(I'm not that good with computers.)?

Graphic cards is what allows picture. It might be worn out. If you could make this happen and take a screen capture that would help.

I don't know if taking a screencap will be possible, but I'll try to.

The list of possible problems is great for Cam Studio Pro. I will start with the basic ones:

a. Graphics Card Compatibility.
Where the graphics card (which allows for your GUI {desktop}, games, video, etc viewing) is not compatible with your current version of Camtasia Studio Pro. If you have an older version of Camtasia or a brand new driver for your new graphic/video card then there can very easily be compatibility issues that cause instability with the program and the operating system.

b. Vista Issues.
Windows Vista is generally evil when it comes to 3rd party software companies and their registry files. A corrupt program file or registry can cause obscene images and poor performance out of programs. If you have Camtasia Studio Pro 2.4 - 3.1, then you might have issues with the program in Vista.

c. Invalid User Settings.
For new users to recording software, there are many tasks that need to be considered. First, is your screen refresh rate 60Hz, or 65Hz, or 72Hz...etc? Is the resolution compatible with your screen recording? Frame rate? Color depth? Etc...etc. Try matching Camtasia Studio Pro's configuration with your PC's monitor hardware. This can be checked in the Control Panel under either Hardware or in Desktop Settings from the Desktop.
