Just a history of one of my characters, I guess. I never use her on here (I may have in the past, though), just wolfquest. I just felt like writing.. couldn't think of anything.. and so, wrote this. It might be quite long, it might be quite short. I'm posting it here because its reasonably good (although not my best).
yeah.. uh....
If i can think up a plot.. I might write some more stories. I dunno.
Prologue
A breeze gently ruffled the trees leaves, and mice and rabbit skittered around busily as if they were late for something. The breeze whispered that spring was in the air, and not a creature was at peace or rest. The sun illuminated every part of the forest, and only one creature was not busily preparing for the time of new growth.
A white she-wolf. She was sitting silently in her den, waiting. Goodness knows, some would think she was waiting for a mouse to leap right into he mouth, the other creatures thought, but of course she was not. Soon enough what she had been waiting for came, and she retreated back into the cool darkness of her den.
It was some times later that what she had been waiting for came, and at this time the sound of her own breathing was accompanied by small yips. Two pups lay by her side. Strangely enough, neither were white, like herself. Both were grey, although one was speckled with white all over, as well as darker grey spots.
This did not bother her in the least, though. Her soft, pink tongue washed her new pups, and she smiled softly at them with her eyes. At this time, they had no names - they were known as the little grey pup, and the shy grey pup. The shy grey pup was a male, and the little grey pup was his sister.
They knew each other as simply brother and sister, and never were they around any other wolves apart from their mother, although they were later told that their father had seen them earlier in their life.
Cuddling up to their mother, they yipped quietly for their first meal. Sighing audibly, although not troublesomely, the mother she-wolf closed her eyes and rested. Her pups were here, her pups were safe. That was all that mattered.
Chapter One
scritch scritch a small mouse scritched around in the leaves, looking for food. Suddenly it sat up, sniffing, aware of being watched.
Soon deciding it was not being watched, it went back to its searching. scritch-a-scritch-a-scritch Behind it, paws soundlessly fell to the ground, bringing forward the shape of a wolf.
The mouse remained alert, but not aware of the she-wolf behind it. Emerald green eyes blazed from behind the mouse as the wolf bunched up her muscles, ready to spring.
RAWR! Something shouted. Alerted of the wolf, the mouse suddenly scampered away. The small she-wolf turnt around abruptly. "Wha-?" She began, before suddenly cutting off and staring angrily at the wolf behind her.
"Brother!" She said with an exasperated sigh "Why in sky-woods name did you do that?" His previously sneaky grin now turnt a little sheepish.
"oops, Sorry, Sister, I didn't know you were hunting." He chuckled, although he looked genuinely sorry.
The little grey wolf just glared at her brother, before rolling her eyes and changing the topic. "Lets go see what mums up to!" She said brightly, eyes shining at the thought of her mother teaching her to hunt rabbits. How long she had been pestering her mother to teach her, goodness knows.
Taking care to be reasonably silent, the small grey pup began to head back to the den, which was only on the other side of the clearing that was just outside the woods. She was not allowed to go far from the den yet, she was not old enough, said her mother.
All attempts to be silent whilst walking failed when her bother was around 'clomp-clomp-clomp' every time he stepped. Although she knew staying out in the open could be dangerous to small pups due to hawks, she suddenly stopped.
"You really must learn to be more silent" she scolded her brother. Her brother looked sheepish again "Er, sorry, sis" He said, chuckling again.
Rolling her eyes and smiling, she remembered how often they'd had this conversation. Why did she bother. Oh well. Grinning, the small grey pup suddenly had a smirk on her face "Race you back to the den!" She laughed, beginning to run.
"Wait, sis, not fair! Everyone knows you're the fastest runner...." His voice faded as she ran far ahead of him.
Panting, she quickly reached the den. Her mother was there, quietly humming to herself. "Muu--uumm" She called, laughing "Will you teach me how to hunt-" Her mother cut he off, and she thought she saw her mother roll her eyes.
"I know what you're going to say, so let me give you the answer ahead of time." Her mother replied. The little grey pup sighed, knowing she was going to say no. "The answer is-" He mother began.
Just then her brother came running up, having nearly panted himself to death. "you.... Left... me..... behind...." He said, panting between each word.
"heh, sorry about that, brother" She replied. Now it was her turn to look sheepish. He mother gave he a stern look, but didn't say anything. It was then that she turnt to the shy grey pup, and finally finished her sentence.
"I was just about to tell your sister the answer to her question" She said. The siblings glanced at each other, both of them knew what the question was, but it almost sounded as if their other was going to say..... "The answer is yes"
Chapter Two
