I walked along the hard concrete paridise, smells of dogs, hot dogs, and trash filled the air.I breathed it in, trying to keep it in their as long as I could manage.I looked back and smiled, Rinni-My childhood friend-was behind me, along with Quest-A large cream male-, Skull-A black & white male- he and I are like Brother and Sister-And ten others.

Skull pushed Rinni playfully as she growled, he growled back and as did I."Stop that!" I snapped loudly, it seemed like every dog in NY had gone quiet in fear, and most would.I'm demented and twisted, as are the rest of my pack.We are Leathel, we kill any dog that misbehaves in this town, if it wasn't for us there wouldn't be rules or saftey!But sometimes we get out of hand, mostly Skull.I kept walking forward until we reached the corner.The cat that has been hanging with us for about a year now grinned, his name was Sparta.He was just like us, and he was a good destraction as we went for the kill.

I grinned too, a large salomi stand was set infront of a italian restraunt.I turned around as the pack all huddled, I whispered something into each of their ears."Okay, we are gonna get every morsel on this cart!Sparta, you grab one small link and claw at Larry's leg.He'll be distracted enough for us to get the cart and scram okay?" Sparta's devilish green eyes sparkled with a evil grin shortly following.


Sparta scurried off into the street just to dissapeer from under the fellow newyorker's feet.But he some how saftley made it to the other side to Larry's stand, he curled up next to his leg and purred, his eyes got baby like and he acted like a house pet."That wasn't part of the plan!" I growled, but as Larry reached down to pet him Sparta sprung at his face and clung his claws into his face."Ah!You crazy cat!Get off!" A few glances were shot at his way, but no one helped.I laughed "Smart a**." And I also sprung, I wrapped four ropes of links around my neck and grabbed five steaks in my mouth and ran across the street into the back alley, the we came back with mounds of food inbetween our collars and teeth.We all laughed as we put it in storage."Good job Spart-" I looked around "Oh jeez.." I relized Sparta was in trouble again.I rolled her eyes and ran to where we left him last, when I got their the ASPCA were lined up around Sparta "No!" I watched as a man grabbed my friend by the scruff.I raced towards them and grabbed Sparta by his stomache and ran."Sparta!Why didn't you come?" I growled threw the fur threw her lips."I'm sorry!They had the freakin bomb squad, everyone was crowding around me and I knew someone would follow me here!" I rolled her eyes at him, angry that he didn't remember the back way "And you didn't go down 5th street did you?" Sparta shrunk his head like a turtle in shame "I was overwhelmed, their were dogs in their, and not nice ones!" Sparta's eyes bugged out in fear.

I giggled at his expressions "You run with dogs, that aren't nice ones Sparta." She giggled "But you guys are my friends!Thats different." Sparta exclaimed.I rolled my eyes as we mae it to the HQ as I call it."Stupid cat decided to stick around for some fun with the men in blue and their demented henchmen dogs." Hayumi giggled once again, her tail swaying side to side slowly.She leaped on a crate around four feet up with ease, her head held high as she took her postitio as Alpha Female once again.Of course there was a Alpha Male-Quest-But they weren't together or anything like that.And they all knew when Hayumi received a mate that Quest would be Beta just like Skull.Hayumi smiled at her thirty dog pack, they were the largest and strongest in New York, no one could beat them.Hayumi's off-white coat danced in the breeze as her eyes di the same threw the crowd.

I smiled, my pack was victorius, Gin's pack couldn't beat us if he tried.We've been in war multiple times but Leathal always comes out a winner.Before we came along he and his pack were torturing NY, but now we are the 'top dogs' as the humans would put it.
I felt a nudge against my side, it was just Quest "Oh, um what?" I said, still startled by the shattered thoughtful moment."Um, I have extremley bad news Yumi." Quest sighed, I already knew "We have war." He took a deep breath in, last time we had one Quest's mate had died, it was a tragic event for the whole pack."With who?" I asked, ridding the emotional moment even though it was greatly needed."A new pack has formed out west and they are about twent-five right now, they keep coming closer and closer, sometimes circling our territory.I've noticed their scouts around our territory also." He noted, I shook my head "We didn't come this far to give up now." I said bravley, I turned to my pack and tried to act strong."My pack!We have war!" The dogs cheered and howled with pure rage, their eyes showing insanity.I try to look back when it was just Skull, Rinni, Quest, and I.Things were much different, I wasn't as happy as I am now, nor was I as powerful.But it was simpler, if a larger pack came along we ran for our lives, if we were hungry we stole or begged.But today there is war, one thing I've done many times in my two years of leadership already.I raised my head, showing complete dominance "I am Alpha for a reason my dogs!For I am not scared of some priss ran pack that thinks they can take down Leathal!" I yelled, my voice echoed with strength.Quest raised his head also "Yes, we must fight!" He howled, ending with one of his famous deep laughs.One dog raised his paw in question, and of course I answered like I always did, question in this pack were important."Yes Struk?" I asked, Struk almost having a seizure alone as I said his name "Um, maybe we should recruit more dogs.So its a garrentee that we provail!I already have caught wind that the other pack named Fore Paw is doing the same and is up to thirty." I looked down, how could this be?"Will shall!" I caused a uproar as the dogs howled and barked and even growled intensly with rage again, my ears were up as I did the same.A long and powerful howl came threw my vocal chords, vibrating them with sound."Search my pack, search for the strong and weak, make a army!" I smiled devilishly as I leaped from the tall structure and into a crowd of my own little demons that I hand created.They carried my too the end where I leaped off and ran into the alley, my Betas following.Skull and Rinni smile "Woo-hoo!Another war!" Skull grinned in his evil smirkish way.
Rinni did the same, my eyes didn't meet with theirs, I was to busy scanning for dogs for the war of a life time I figured.A pack must be stronger than ever or stupid as hell to fight us.This wasn't a simple doll game like always, where I send my group in and they come back minutes later with blood on their paws and minus one.
I looked around NYC, my eyes searching the crowd, then I found one.He seemed strong enough, his muscles were large for a common stray.I walked up to him "Hello." He smiled instantly, I smiled back.I normaly growl intensly and went to buissness, but I didn't this time and I had no clue why."Hi.." I choked up, what was I here for again?He had such amazing ey-No!I have a war to deal with, not some puppy love gig."I am trying to find dogs that will help us in our war, I'm from the Leathal pack, I'm the Alpha." The male stepped back and blushed "Wow, I feel well, honored.I mean, your a legend sure I will join!" He smiled, but he seemed to care more about me then the war."I turned around "C'mon, we have work to do." I said strictly, but I slipped some sweetness into it on accident.I smiled my famous smile at him and motion my head for him to follow.And he did, as we walked I figured since he was a part of the pack I might as well learn his name, so I asked."So, what should I call you?" I asked him, my ears back since I was oddly nervous.His were back also, so I was okay "Levi." He said simply and that caught my eye "And yours?" He asked, his paws attampting to carry him but he stumbled."Oh, mine is Hayumi, but you can call me Yumi." I mention, I hated it when people just casualy called me Hayumi.He nodded "So how many recruits do we realy need?" He asked, I looked back and saw atleast thirty dogs, I smiled "Eh this is double my pack so it will do." I smirked, my tail was wagging slowly as we made it home."My pack!We have a new recruit!More like Forty-six of 'em!" I smiled with pride, Skull and Rinni smiled also.I looked at Levi, his smile was amazing, and he seemed to think mine was too by the way he was looking at me.

Skull seemed happy, as did Rinni.Everyone knew that they had a thing for eachother besides themselves, it was quite humorus.I felt claws fish hook into my back and I only flenched slightly, in suprise not pain."Just gonne settle myself here." Sparta said as he sat on my head, I giggled slight, the three pawed cat was my best friend.He had lost him back paw from when we found him, he was in a stupid bear trap, have no clue why it was in New York.Well, he wanted the salmon, so he got it, but we opened it for him and made him give the salmon to us.But he was just a kitten then, small and helpless as I was a pup.I took him home and warned him if he misbehaved I would throw him to the pack for lunch and he laughed, I liked that.He wasn't scared of me or death, which in a way were conected.

I watched as Sparta's too long tail drifted from my face back to my head."So you excited?" He asked me, his voice seemed choked and I smiled "Eh, kinda, I mean it will be fun if we win with no losses." Sparta shrugged "Eh, well we are stringer than ever now, look at us." He paw motioned towards the pack of muscle filled dogs that have canines likea wolf, claws to match."True, but we were last war to, and we lost Addie." I mentioned, Addie was Quest's mate, she was so sweet and was like a mother to me.It was hard to loose her for the whole pack, not just Quest and I.
I could feel Sparta's head drop onto my bangs, his emotions seemed to match mine by the feel of radiation coming from him and into me.That was one of my many talents, feeling someones emotions, seeing if they were scared or confident was a plus when it came to a fight.

My eyes tried to catch a glimpse of Levi, and they did, his deep blue eyes shined threwout the pack."I see you eying the new male." Sparta said suddenly "Are we gonna kill 'em?" He asked, his heart beat raced with excited ment of a kill and I growled "No!He is a wonderful dog, we will not lay a paw on him!" Sparta's eartbeat still raced but not with excitment, but with fear, I could feel every strand of fur on his body stick up as he hissed at me "DOn't growled at me!" He hissed threw a clenched jaw, his claws grew deeper into my back."Sorry, I just-" Sparta cut me off "Like him?" He asked, I shrugged "I guess." He laughed slightly, his heart beat was still kinda fast but slowing.

My tail wagged as I looked at him again.I remembered the radio suddenly, music would be nice right now.I switche dit on, my favorite song was on.It was My broken Hom eby We Are the Ocean it was my theme song.Every dog knew it to, they went silent as they listened to the lyrics 'Welcom to my home, welcome to my f***ing broken home.Can you taste the bliss?Can you feel the paradise?This is a awful place but this is my home!' The voice said as I tensed up, I remembered when I still stayed with my parents and sister, it was easy to relize why I ran away.

I tried to remember when I was a very young pup, when I was still with my parents in the pack.I remember they would shelter and love my older sister Titi, she was girly and over dramatic over everything and caused pain and hatred in our family.But for some reason theys till left me in the cold rain alone, while they placed her in the warmest section of the den, I hated her with a true passion.Titi and I were enimies undercover, hiding the hatred until I eventualy blew up which wasn't often since I learned to keep it in until it became dangerous.Which it often did, hurting myself was a good alternetive to the anger and the emotional pain was nothing compared to this, they never suspected anything which I laughed upon since I made it pretty obvious.ThenI remembered one day when my father lashed out on me and I ran.I did look back though, I saw my mother holding my sister as her face began to turn red with anger, I howled evily and continued to run.

I ran as far as my legs could carry me, my fur was badly beaten up by the time I got into Tennesee where I stayed for a week to rest, Texas to Tennesee was far enough for most animals but I wanted to push myself.I knew I would have to since I would live as a nomad for all of my life, atleast that was my thought.I ran to Ohio and stayed there for a month, people there where cruel and kicked me away from their yards or allies, some shot me.I was in such pain, even though it wasn't my first shot in the side it still stung greatly.I remember limping across a interstate, my tail low as cars moved passed me and sometimes knocked me over, I was only nine months old.I eventualy made it to New York, at first I was terrified of the city and planned on running to a state I heard about named Maine, I heard how they treated dogs well there and many dogs would leap onto boats and travel the world, I wanted to do that until I relized who had followed me.I turned around, and there was Rinni, my devoted friend.She followed me around NYC, I didn't mind because I needed my childhood friend, and along the way we met Skull, he was half dead on a garbage pail, I remember that.We barked and whimpered for help, and eventualy it came, Quest came to our saftey.He was about a year older than us, so he was stronger.We clung to him like flies on a fresh peice of fly paper.

Sparta moved slightly on my head, it shocked me since I was so deep in thought but it happened often.I swung my head up, claws dug into my skin but ripped off, I growled in shock "Ah, Sparta, I forgot you were on there." He was laying against a crate that was now broken "God dam it Yumi!" He hissed, my jaw clenched, hurt that I had hurt him badly.
Skull was rolling on the floor in tears of laughter and I leaped from my crate to his, which was around seven crates away from mine.I landed on him, he was on his back as his devilish grin came threw "You better wipe that off your god ***** face before i do!" I growled intestly, my eyes showed I wasn't kidding.He playfully snapped ay my face and I took that as a open welcomefor a fight.I bit his neck as I watched blood seep threw the peiced of skin that I had injured, he yelped in pain as I stepped on his neck, the pressure caused the blood to flow faster and I licked it off, licking my lips soon after "Do you want to feed the beast more?Or do you want to run off like a good little puppy?" I snapped eveily, he nodded in fear, his heartbeat was racing in fear as he quickly limped into his crate.All eyes were on me as I turned, Levi looked at me with disgust and began to walk off, I sighed and went to go after him but someone was on my tail.I turned around, eyes still in rage from the sweet taste of blood.As I went to bite I relized it was Quest and quickley restrained myself, I examined his expression "I know, he neds to learn but...I.." Quest didn't need me to finish, he knew me to well.I nodded then looked at the large crowd, no Levi."I have to Quest." Quest smiled and nodded "Go get him." He sighed happily.

I leaped from the top and raced towards Levi, he was walking towards the end of the alley.I snatched him by the collar and he gave me a harsh look that broke me inside."What?Here to kill me to?" He snapped "No!Levi, you don't understand!" I whimpered, pleading him to come back "He is just a smart a**, he has always been, its my duty!" I explained, he laughed sarcasticly so I knew I didn't get threw to him "So you hurt him?Good job dad." He coughed, I growled "I-I am nothing like my father.." I whimpered, but the growl was still seeping threw slightly.My eyes began to water as I turned to run, I could hear his voice following me "No!Hayumi, I didn't know!" He called despertaly, but I ran into my crate, turning it over to where it was all four walls sorounding me and the roof above.I could hear his faint whimpers sorrounding the crate, his shadow slightly showed threw the cracks in the crate.I looked around and saw his head, he had layed down next to the wooden structer."I'm sorry Yumi.." He muttered truthfully, I didn't say anything, I kept silent."I didn't know your father, I don't know you...But I would like to.." He smiled, I smiled and shifted my weight slightly on m back side "Me too Levi." I whispered faintly, i could see his smile threw a crack.
The Crates

The sun rose as I smiled, a new day.I stood up and looked over my dog's, my friends and family realy.I knew everyone's name, even the pups.This was my concrete based kingdom, but sadly it was falling apart peice by peice since the war had been established.I looked over to QUest, weakness in my eyes "Quest..Am I a good Alpha?" I whimpered helplessly, never feeling so misunderstood of myself, Quest smiled his sweet old man smiled and yawned "Of course you are Yumi, you are a skilled at a young age." He explained, his smile coulod break threw any coldness in any dog, he had a automatic fatherly feeling besides when he was angry or fighting."Why don't you go look in a puddle Hayumi, who do you think you are?" He said, I didn't quite understand.I went to open my mouth after pondering it for a few seconds."You'll find out." He smiled as he nudged me to walk off and I did.I walked threw the crowd as it seperated like the red sea for moses, each particale of fur was atleast a foot away from me as they bowed "No need." I smiled sweetly, I hated bowing.They looked confused but obeyed, they lefted their heads as I walked, all eyes on me.I snarled, the hair on my back bristled as I snarled at the pack of sixty now "Stop!" I snapped, my eyes nearly glowing red as the dogs laid on their stomachs in fear.

I snarled "I take pitty for all of you sometimes." I muttered, my eyes scanned around for Levi and I have no clue why he is probaly pi***ed at me for last night still.I looked around and sighed, he wasn't insight.I kept walking, Skull, Rini, Quest, and Sparta followed me out."Time for patrol, those Scouts are getting dangerously close and I can't wait to sink my teeth into one of 'em." I snarled, Skull rubbed his neck hoping he wouldn't be another victim."Skull, I'm sorry, I got...ANgry." I muttered "You get that way all the time." He snarled and I snarled back "You smart a**ing me won't help your little boo boos heal anymore Fido!" I snapped, he decided he had said enough and stuck next to Rinni.I coughed as Quest sped up, his pace was odly stiff today and I hadn't figured out why.We turned a corner, a trash can lid spinning slowly as I heard a clash and smack from inside of a trashcan, how obvious.I sighed and motioned Rinni to go for the back, Quest on the side with Skull on the other, me on the front.I ran full speed towards the trashcan and watched it fly into a concrete wall, a large yelp came out as a scruffy black dog limped out snarling."Look what we got hear..." I smelled his aroma, a scout from the other pack.I snarled as I grabbed his tail and swung him around to where he was against the wall."Do you know who I am?" I snapped, my scars were alot worse than his, and to street dogs alot of scars is intimadating and I have a boat load full."Umm....no?" The dog cocked his head stupidly, like a house pet.I spat inhis face and stepped on his throaght, the dogs laughed manicaly."Hayumi." The dog's eyes bugged from his head, relizing who I was he scrambled to his feet that would soon become mine."I-I'm sorry miss." He apoligized "You and your pack better watch their backs, I'm only the leader." I laughed, my eyes showing rage as I bit into his leg, blood rushing from his leg to my tougne.He jerked his leg roughly, yelped and whimpering as I bit down harder, I could feel the bone crack around my canines, I smiled.I let go and he tried to limp away, stupid muts nedver know when to shut up and sit up do they?I snapped his bone in half in one loudc runch into his leg, blood spread threw the apuddle of water that began to form from the rain that had begun when we left.My wet coat was blood tainted, the smelll heavy.The male dog screetched in pain "Dear lod!Mercy!" He whimpered as I just laughed "Oh sweety, this isn't even the beginning huh boys?" I turned my head as the group slowly lurked their way into the scene of soon to be eath.His eyes popped in fear, his mouth hanging open in fear.

Skull's manic eyes went in a crazed like state, Quest laughed is classic evil man laugh as he showed his canines.Rinni pulled out her paw, flexing out her sharpened claws.She gave a devilish smile that showe doff her pearly white canines that were almost sharp as razors.I was the first one to tear into him, i ripped his collar off and snarled "House pet!" Even I had a collar for safty reasons, but that wasn't a point he had a actual new collar whith a recent tag.Appareantly this pack wa smade up by lonley and bored housepets by the looks of him.Skull grabbed his leg and played Life Sized tug-a-war with the four of us, Sparta scratched underneath as he yelped in pain.

The dog collapsed in pain, yelping a german name "Gleknash!" He begged, I cocked my head and look around, and there was another dog.He ran at me like a mad bull "No!" he screamed in anger, making me flinch slightly, I rammed the dog into a wall.His blood layed across concrete, my pack relized that it was getting late."Tell your leader what happened here, tell them to back off!" I snapped.The dog nodded and limped off, his friend laying tattered and limp on the ground."Lets go home." I barked, my pack nodded as we turned to leave.

I looked around as we entered another alley, we hadn't came across any other dogs since the last two.Sparta moaned as he pushed himself against me "I'm starving!" He pleaded, his paws wrapping around his stomach with a tight grip, I was hungry to.The dogs looked at eachother and nodded, Quest came up to me and frowned "We best be gettin' home." He shrugged, I wasn't done yet but we were all hungry and the moon was shining already.I nodded in agreement as I began to walk towards home, a felt a cold wind brush threw my fur as I looked around for th entrance to the alley "Its getting redy to rain." I called to them, I could hear their paws speeding up as small droplets of diamonds began to drip down from the sky.I began to think if it would rain during the war, it would be dangerous since someone could slip.I pictured Levi lunging at a male and slipping as he leaped towards him, only to fall in a puddle of mud.The male tore into him, blood spillng into the wet grass, I shook that thought away.As we got home Levi was waiting for me, I smiled and raced up to him.He smiled back as I turned the radio on, Metro station was playing Kelsey, Levi smirked as he sang the lyrics "I'll swim the ocean for you, the ocean for you, oh woah woah Yumi!" He grinned as he nuzzled me sweetly."So how did it go?" He asked me, I shrugged "We caught two of them and sent them back with a message." Levi smirked, glad that I made it alive.
