Hermione was curled up in an armchair in the Gryffindor common room, a heavy book open on her lap, the fire crackling and pspitting flames in the hearth. She flipped the page, her eyes flying rapidly over the words, taking in every detail. She absently brushed a lock of bushy hair behind her ear, it have being in the way before. She closed the book finally, her eyes itching and heavy with exhaustion. SHe had been studying all night, there was a test in Potions tomorrow. She placed the book in her almost overflowing and bulging bag, barely managing to squeeze it in.
She slung her bag over her shoulder and walked over to the flight of stairs leading to the girl's dormitory. She silently walked in, she was the only one still awake, everyone eslse had gone to sleep a while ago. She dropped her bag gently to the stone forr, and crawled into the bed, puling the curtains around the four-poster shut aound her. Moonlight streamed in through a crack in the curtain and she rolled over, closing her eyes.
