Metalcore is downright my favorite genre. My favorite bands include: All That Remains, Trivium, Atreyu, Shadows Fall, God Forbid, and Unearth. Anyone else big fans of Metalcore? I like it because I like the heavy guitars and the mix of screaming...makes the emotion stronger. And alot of the lyrics arent how bad life is and stuffs, it more like real problems. I like it, it make me happy

Metalcore is pretty much a watered down, generic version of metal pre-packaged and marketed to teens who shop at Hot Topic, which is why it's referred to as "mallcore" by many metal fans. Most people either grow out of it or use it as a stepping stone to discover real metal. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GNLDLyeepVs

Mainly the 'growing out of it' thing. You don't see too many adults who listen to it substantially. They exist, yes, but they're quite rare. It's definitely a preteen/teen sort of thing. If you like it, that's your business. I'm not one to criticize anyone's musical tastes. It's definitely not my thing for the most part, though, and before anyone says I haven't looked into the genre at all, my brother is obsessed with it, so trust me, I've been exposed to it on high.

Trivium All That Remains Killswitch Engage Divine Heresy Arch Enemy Underoath Shadows Fall DevilDriver Machine Head Darkest Hour Haste The Day As Blood Runs Black Suicide Silence Bullet For My Valentine Slipknot Caliban Chimera Last one is spelled Chimaira FYI. As far as your list, I like some of these (Trivium, Devildriver, Machine Head, Chimaira) HATE a few (Suicide Silence, Slipknot, Caliban) and the rest are just ok. I also agree with RB. It is one of the genres of music that you can eventually grow out of. I have somewhat...kinda
