Did anyone else see the Perseid Meteor Shower that peaked Wednesday of last week?
-- Some info on Perseid for those interested:
http://www.redorbit.com/education/refer ... index.htmlI saw it by accident when I stepped outside after dark and an extremely bright shooting star caught my attention. WOW! It was the brightest shooting star I had ever seen in my life! I didn't realize the could be that bright! It inspired me to stay out to watch for another three hours. I must have seen at least 40 or 50 shooting stars during that time, including three more extremely bright ones that actually lit up the sky! In fact, they were so bright they lit up their own dust trail (similar to a fireworks show)! It was amazing!
Seeing an event like that can certainly make a person realize how incredibly tiny and insignificant they are relative to the rest of the universe. If you missed the Perseid Shower, don't worry, it's an annual event. Also there will be five more Showers this year.
