I suspect it is because I am unwilling to soft-pedal any response, or look the other way, when someone acts the fool or in an otherwise antagonistic manner. And that, to the staff, may be troublesome...they'd much prefer (and have often stated plainly) that they would like for everyone to just ignore troublemakers and not reply...that it does "no good" to stand up to them. I disagree. They say that they'll get around to dealing with them. In fact, they quite often do, but it usually takes a matter of days lately. And while I respect the fact that they cannot be here 24/7, and may not be when a report is made, a person still has a right to respond if he or she wishes.
Well by ignoring troublemakers wouldn't that just be a huge problem? Kinda the boat we're in right now. Wouldn't that make the troublemakers think that they are off the hook? Maybe thats why they do the things they do, because they know they can get away with it. But in my opinion i think its good for you not to soft-pedal anything, becuase thats what we have been doing for countless years on this site already. To me it's getting us knowhere and finally we have a bundle of people stepping up to the plate and
Doing something about it. But yes the other mods do a good job don't get me wrong, but to me sometimes mods do/say things that are wrong. I hope i dont get flamed for saying that it's just my opinion and i'm not bashing them at all. But mods are not gods they're humans and they need to relize that some things need to be worked out differently.

I tried to. The shoutbox has ever been a problem for this site. Because no matter how many people go there simply to do what the thing is designed for...social chatting...there always seems to be the malcontents, the trolls, the overreactive/hypersensitive kids, and the "poor me" attention-seekers who spoil it for everyone, and that is very frustrating. I was very slow to ban because I sought other resolutions (and often succeeded). I hated the idea of banning someone, and only did so when there was no other possible recourse. And in each case the ban was very deserved.
Back in the day the shout box was a sort of a problem but mostly everybody got a long. Yep...i have relized it has became a bigger problem, maybe we could do better without it, but steet i think dosn't want to get rid of it...i dont really know what his intensions are on that whole deal. Theres really nothing you can do about that problem but get rid of it. I have thought about suggesting the age log in, i have seen other sites do that. I don't think younger kids under the age of 13 should even go on there. Because of gramer/additude/age difference that younger kids have and they don't know how to properly use anything.
BUT This is a "kid" site intently made for it.

I believe it's because I am quite often outspoken, and not afraid to be direct when I have to be. I don't play the political game, or "just let it go". Maybe that makes me a harsh person. I don't know. I think it's an asset, and a refreshing (if not always welcome) honesty. Being outspoken on this site - depending upon what you happen to be outspoken about - is not a good thing to be, apparently. One very experienced mod seems to have the viewpoint that I seem to be a magnet for those who like to butt heads and flame. Perhaps he's right...to an extent. When you are willing to speak out and make a bold stand rather than back down and be wishy-washy, you invariably draw negative attention from certain quarters. However, I've also done, I think, a lot of good for the site, and made many good friends in spite of my being older than a large portion of the members.
That does
NOT make you a harsh person. Like i said before more people need to be like you, meaning more people need to shape up and get in gear. Becuase as i see this site is just going to go more downhill and not get any progress at all.

So you attract "flamers" because people on here like...no love to start anything they possible can. And you being the person who fights back for what is right and not hidding in the corner makes them feel threatened...possibly. I agree with you and everything you have said so far and i think you're in the right.

Well, I am hardly the only one. There are good, hard-working people here, and not all of them are staffers. Many are not. Some deserve to be, and are overlooked either because there is no space, or because they are not a convenient and safe choice for being on staff. *SIGH* That is an issue with no resolution, unfortunately. Yes, some people help me, and I sometimes help them. I enjoy doing so. Far more so than butting heads with idiots. Given that choice, who wouldn't?
Of course, it needs to be understood, by the other readers of my posts, that I am not - in a roundabout way - trying to get back on staff. What's done is done. If there is ever a call for me to return, I'd gladly serve. Nor am I whining about the inequities of the current situation regarding where I am as opposed to where I was (though I do have rather pointed personal opinions on the selection process used on this site for staffing...which I won't go into here, as it would only enflame this topic). But once again, I am speaking my mind. Some will see that as irritating or inconvenient. Others as amusing or encouraging. I am not looking to see an argument or debate break out over this. But the topic discussion went in that direction. I followed it without reservation, and regret nothing.
No kidding yes i have seen other instead of you and i think it's a great idea of it all. Team work...it's great!
Yes, others need to read this and understand that you are not meaning to get back at the mods. Theres no reason for you to do that. Great Work though Jersey all together you speak and do awesome and i only wish that others would completley understand what we're trying to do. I hope to god theres no argument over this it would be irrational for others to start one over this. It's simple a harmeless rant that i thought was needed.
