Well that's a classic question, but at least it suits with the current poll (on the main site).
Honestly : I love them all! Especially the main cast, although even most minor characters are great.
I can't really choose ONE favorite, but if I really had to, I would probably pick Baloo as he's the center of the series and is one of the most adorable characters I have ever seen (especially because he has flaws, just like everyone!)
Maybe I would pick Rebecca too, for the same reasons and because I believe she's a misunderstood character (I guess most children don't like her, because "she's so mean", while they don't understand why she acts like that : social ranks, different ambitions, or just different female characters...) and because she's really not the typical female character - especially when you compare her to the other Disney characters.
Kit is a strong character too - no one knows what he went through, especially for a little kid; he's affectionated to Baloo, but often gets in the middle - and most of the time, he's the only one being right...
Don Karnage is very "stylish", he has a great accent, and even though he could seem like a regular foe, some episodes show some different sides of him...("Stuck On You", anyone?)
I could go on like this, but this could take a long time, so...
What are your opinions?

And again...Seriously, can't you explain WHY you like them? What's the point on answering if it's not to bring something to the topic?

Kit Cloudkicker, without a doubt in my mind, is an animated profile in courage.
What else could you call a kid...an animated kid of course, but a kid for this discussion...who had survived the kinds of ordeals which would have made a fortysomething-year-old man like myself throw his arms up in despair? Kit was an orphaned runaway who knew what it was like to be homeless, hungry, and without knowing a single soul who cared whether he lived or died. He latched on to the criminal element which really was the Air Pirate crew led by Don Karnage. Only a providential being would know the kind of life a boy like Kit had to endure amongst the soft white underbelly of a gang like that.
Thankfully, he runs (literally) into Baloo, who takes the young fellow in and as their stories unfold, they become pilot-and-navigator...and ultimately like a father-and-son. Baloo, I feel, should get an honorable mention as well. The reason being that he reached out to Kit and made a tremendous difference in the boy's life. Kit's world went from a dead-end street to clear skies, thanks to his Papa Bear. The two of them have their differences but they always work things out in time. They are a father-and-son team and one couldn't get along very well without the other. Baloo and Kit care about each other deeply...they love each other...and I love the both of them!
Baloo and Kit Cloudkicker...the Disney organization outdid even themselves by putting those two together! Well, that's my take...what's yours?

I'm baffled that no one mentioned Louie yet. He may not be my favorite character in Tailspin, but he sure is on my list of cool characters. Why? Because I like his kick-back style and his accent, just like the classic Louie with that New Orleans accent (if I'm correct about where that's from). He was also the center of some episodes, where he showed his fighting spirit and also that he can take some verbal abuse based on his lifestyle and looks and still be a loyal friend. That takes strength for one, don't you think? Kit for sure is a strong kid with a lot of common sense for a boy his age, but he still does things and thinks at times a boy his age should, which I find to be a great thing since in other shows' depiction of kids they seem 'disgustingly' mature, even more so than the grown-ups. I just find that wrong, it would've been more ok if the kid/-s knew something and the grown-ups didn't listen and then turn out right, but being know-it-alls from the start is the wrong angle to create characters. Oh and Kit's ability with his cloud-surfing board is just awesome, in that sense he's a young version of Baloo. He rules the cloud-surfing, Baloo rules the flying. The teamwork the two have when it comes to daring stunts in order to save the day is, when you think of it, quite touching and wonderful. I wish we could see some of that stuff for real in some manner. Baloo is maybe the favorite of mine from the show, but I'm very hard to make up my mind on favorites in whatever show or anything whatsoever so I'm just guessing here . But my reasons for liking him remain clear; He may be a slob and a lazy bear, that makes him a guy many can relate to. But his heart is 100% in the right place, he is very caring and protective of his friends, and the Sea Duck, not to mention very courageous when the situation calls for it. Finally his simply awesome flying skill is of course one of the things I look forward to the most to see in action. Wildcat, I find him to be a fun character. In each episode he's in I always find at least one thing he does or says to be hilarious. He might be a simple guy, but then you don't have to be complex to be remembered, eh? Something I found very cute and surprising is the fact he got himself a girlfriend in one episode, a nice one at that. The fact the show's creators did this episode and that ending for Wildcat alone is cause for applause. Wildcat, again, may be a simple guy with a very simple mind. But his heart is just as big as the rest of his friends', so he deserves it. Ms. Rebecka Cunningham can be a bit of a spoilsport and mean and stubborn and all that many people dislike about her. But while I agree to a point, I like her still. She's a good contrast to the rest of the team, she has, as mentioned before, ambition and has her mind on her social status. Deep down she is a nice lady who knows to prioritize the right things in the end, even though that might not fall in with Baloo's own plans all the time. As a potential love interest for Baloo and vice versa, I think it is safe to assume that if the show had continued they might actually have explored that possibility a bit further. I feel they are good for each other, if not deserving one another. Baloo can make her relax and not overdo her sense of business and responsibility. She on the other hand would get Baloo to straighten up some (not too much though, Baloo's good the way he is for the most part.) And as we already witnessed with Kit, Baloo would be a great father figure if he put his mind to it, and so far he's been taking it fairly easy on that department and look how far he has gotten with Kit already. Molly, well, what can be said about her? She's her mother's daughter. I think she's a cute little cub and wouldn't have minded if she got some more episodes in which she at least made appearances. As for being a potential love interest for Kit and vice versa, well I suppose it's possible but there's nothing to suggest that in the show so I leave it at that. Shere Khan. Now here's one of the show's big famous unknowns. Famous for being Shere friggin' Khan, but unknown since he doesn't have a clear moral standing. He cares for himself and his big business corporation, and he will do whatever is necessary to advance it, be it good or bad or neither. I know people think of him as anything but, but that makes him a sort of wildcard in my eyes. He can be an ally, an enemy and neither depending on the situation. His always cool demeanor is cool and used for great mood setting (and sometimes comical relief in the form of his cronies). Don Karnage and the Air-pirates. The whole concept of Air-pirates alone is enough to bring adventurous chills down my spine, and these pirates do a great job of being a menace without being too much of a competent group. Karnage is one hilarious villain yet at the same time quite dangerous if one underestimates him. The Iron Vulture is simply one of the greatest concepts of organized crime bases/vehicles in DA history! I mean come on, look at the thing, it's a flying aircraft carrier! Filled with squadrons of pirate fighters and a cargo bay to capture freighter planes and what not they get their hands on. It even works as a seafaring craft when necessary. Truly awe inspiring. Which sort of brings me to the plane of planes in the show, The Sea Duck. It may not look like a big deal to the untrained/ignorant eye, but this plane is pretty versatile and it's not even sporting guns to defend itself with. Baloo's been able to outmaneuver his enemies with this baby with relative ease due to the plane's stronger engine and propellers, the specially built in flaps makes it able to turn very tightly. It even at one point had a super booster which rivaled that of a jet engine. Sadly this was irreparably lost while saving Cape Suzette. Not bad for a cargo plane/freighter plane. If it had guns* (but I prefer it being without) it would be even more capable. *Baloo did once envision himself being part of an elite squadron during the 'great war' and that included 'using' guns in his imagination. Has anyone ever thought of the similarities between the Sea Duck, Baloo, Kit and Rebecca and the Millenium Falcon, Han Solo, Chewbacca and Princess Leia? It all fits quite well. The Falcon is a heavily modified freighter just like the Duck (although the MF sports guns). Han Solo is a scruffy looking smuggler/mercenary, Baloo is a scruffy looking cargo hauler. Kit is the navigator who idolizes Baloo and goes wherever Baloo goes, Chewbacca fills the same role and more as well as having a life-debt to Solo. Rebecka has a love-hate relationship with Baloo, Princess Leia has the same with Solo. The Air Pirates fills in the role of a blend of Jabba's criminal galactic consortium and the Empire, along with Shere Khan's corporation even thought the two are separate factions (they did work together at one point however). Don't tell me you've never imagined that the pirate fighters versus the Sea Duck has loads in common with battles between TIE-Fighters and the Millenium Falcon? I think Shere Khan's a blend of Darth Vader and Jabba (more of the former) while Karnage is a bit of a stand alone character. The closest character I can think of for Karnage is Boba Fett since the two share a similar animosity towards their respective occasional target, Baloo and Solo. Now I know another bunch of reasons I love this show EDIT: Oh and I suppose Louie's closest counterpart would be Jar-Jar Binks. But to me that's too far fetched, Louie's not a clumsy fool. Besides that, the two's settings in their respective universes are extremely different. EDIT #2: Actually now that I think of it, Louie could be a good fit for Lando Calrissian, the two share a very similar friendship with Baloo and Solo. Louie has his own establishment and goes way back with Baloo, Lando governs his own mining colony and also goes way back with Solo. Let's not forget the fact that Louie flirted with Rebecka in a similar manner as Lando did with Leia.

Now that's what I call a long and interesting answer You've pretty much summarized it all... Quote: I'm baffled that no one mentioned Louie yet. He usually isn't one of the most favorites characters from the show, but he sure still is a good character. I do prefer him when he's around the other main characters ("For a fuel dollars more", "Pizza pie in the sky", "A Touch of Glass"...) rather than when he's mostly with Baloo ("In Search of Ancient Blunders", "Jumping the guns", "The road to macadamia"...) Quote: Kit for sure is a strong kid with a lot of common sense for a boy his age, but he still does things and thinks at times a boy his age should, which I find to be a great thing since in other shows' depiction of kids they seem 'disgustingly' mature, even more so than the grown-ups. Yes, it's exactly that. Clever without being crude and insolent, and without being naive or too "cute". Quote: He may be a slob and a lazy bear, that makes him a guy many can relate to. But his heart is 100% in the right place, he is very caring and protective of his friends, and the Sea Duck, not to mention very courageous when the situation calls for it. Exactly! Quote: Something I found very cute and surprising is the fact he got himself a girlfriend in one episode, a nice one at that. He did? Thanks for the spoiler, I haven't seen that one yet... Quote: Ms. It's the same thing as Baloo : she may have faults, but her heart is in the right place. They may seem very different characters, but in the end they share this common point which is the most important one. That's what I mean about realistic characters : they have flaws like everyone, but they're able to work around them when they have to. Quote: As for being a potential love interest for Kit and vice versa, well I suppose it's possible but there's nothing to suggest that in the show so I leave it at that. To me they clearly share a "brother and sister" relationship in the show, which brings a really "unconventional" family. Quote: Shere Khan. That's another "realistic" character : he only cares about his own business interests. Too many people mistake him for a foe, when he clearly isn't - this is a very unusual character in a children TV series. I like every episode he appears him. And his "no feeling" attitude can even be funny (he makes me laugh in "Bullethead Baloo" ) Quote: Don Karnage and the Air-pirates. The whole concept of Air-pirates alone is enough to bring adventurous chills down my spine, and these pirates do a great job of being a menace without being too much of a competent group. Karnage is one hilarious villain yet at the same time quite dangerous if one underestimates him. In his way, he's very unique too. It's very difficult to manage a character to be funny and dangerous at the same time, and I think they did a very good job with him (even if he's a bit more on the funny side in the episodes than he is in the pilot) Even after watching the series for months now, I'm still amazed at how much the characters are unexpectedly original and well-conceived, when compared to ANY other animated series. I used to think it was "another" kids cartoon before I really started watching it. And yes, I have seen many series.

That’s a hard question, because I love the show for the unity of them all, not because of the particular character. I know I have to vote for one or two, so here is goes. My favorite character from the H4H family would be Rebecca, having Baloo a close second place. My reasons, I've always or most of my time I've work for myself:. Freelance, business and all of this as a family. I really have no employees. So she kinds of resembles me in that way. At the moment I work in sales, but making my own income without any salary is kind of the same and the economy was not good at the moment to support me just from commissions and design work. Baloo has that careless free spirit I so much crave to have sometimes to free up my mind from my day to day deal. He is spontaneous, while I always plan ahead and it really bothers me being like this. I think Baloo is not a lazy slob, but a free spirit who could move mountains if he is given a hamburger as a treat. ? Kit and Molly are the supporting roles of the family. Without them the show would be like having spaghetti without the cheese. Yuuk! Wildcat is the heart. The genius without knowing what he is doing. The heart of a child and Molly’s playmate. He occupies her mother spot, because she is always busy. He does give her education but I’m pretty sure Molly will end up being a great mechanic or will end up inventing gadgets but unlike Wildcat she will know what w heck is going g on for a change. There is more resemblance in Kit to Rebecca than her own daughter. He is responsible, well manner and has a thing with numbers and organization. It will take a lot of effort from kid to decide on flying or running H4H when he is old enough or perhaps doing both. Nah, I don’t think so. Too much work! Outside the crew My all time favorite would be Shere Kahn. His behavior always intrigues me. He is not suave at all, but he has the way to keep you attention. He will do anything to get richer, but then the time comes where he knows how to keep his word to the letter. Myra Foxworthy is my second favorite. She is sweet, she is a doctor, and I love females that are not dumb but prepared and educated and that don’t show that knowledge every time they talk like to show off. She is simple and is not afraid on making decisions.
From the air pirates my only favorite is Karnage, but my favorite Villian is not him, but Klang I was impressed by his strength... I hope I could see more from him soon… I don’t care the source

As I noticed, nearly 50% of TaleSpin fans fell in love with Don Karnage. So did I ^^ ^^ ^^

Don Karnage is great, but not my favourite character. I like most of all Baloo, Rebecca and, sure, Kit. These three characters are those with who I'd want to have friendship, if they existed. Sometimes they quarrels but always help each other in disasters.
