Okay, so drawing with a mouse is hard! Yes, I bet you all know that... Well I feel like ranting about it.

Who else has to use a mouse because they can't afford those fancy, expensive, NICE tablets? Come on! Don't be shy! Of crouse it's hard, and it's harder when you're trying a new art program out! So, it's even harder to draw lions, dogs, cats, animals and people in general. And everyone seems to assume you have a scanner or a tablet, so a whole lot of tutorials may help when it's pen and paper, but with a mouse... so hard!

Yes, we do break it down in shapes and work slowly and save a whole lot... that's what WIPs(Work In Progesses) are for! But, what if you want to have it recorded and not waste like... 5 hours sitting there and if you pause it, your computer might crash or die or something. Where are the tutorials for that?

I'm not sure... hmmm, there's very few tutorials I've seen that help us mouse users directly draw it. What if you wanna color it and have it cleaned up on the scanner but have only MS Paint? Sure there are maybe one or two tutorials out there for that, but oh my gosh! They don't work for you. Well, once you find one cleaning method and it works, great! Now it's just coloring... How am I suspossed to do that? ._. Gee, I dunno Sammy! Uhh, where's the mouse coloring tutorial?

Okay now by now you must be confused, what am I aiming at? The lack of tutorials for mouse users? Nah, it's the whole mouse propecy in general... People think you're NEW at drawing just because of the mouse. People think you need HELP on drawing because of the mouse... It's seriously getting old you guys. Ask, "Are you useing a mouse, or are you useing a scanner?" before saying, "Oh you must be new! Here lemme tell you how to fix this..." You know, C+C(Constructive Critism), that's lovely stuff... but... We already know that!

We want to know how to fix it useing the mouse! So there you go... Basically a rant on how people assume you're new, lack of tutorials, and having to learn on your own just because of the mouse... I love mouse but others don't respect it often, and the people who use it. It annoys me...

What do you guys think? Any mouse users annoyed with this too? If this is in the wrong topic PLEASE move it to the right place, since I consider it as a rant, I placed it here. If it gets out of hand, like flame wars going on and stuff... lock it please o: Thank you mods, and thank you for reading. :]

What is your dA Zorro? Lol, very pricey indeed D: I like GIMP for outlining... And coloring. It's free, and it has a lot of nice features. Yes, MS Paint is great for pixel art! I like to use GIMP or PDN(Paint.Net). They are really nice. I don't like photoshop much, not sure why. I use MS Paint for A LOT of my drawings and colorings. Haha.

My DA account is on my signature. I don't really like GIMP, I've tried it but I'm more used to Photoshop (I have a weakness for the Grass Brush, lol) and I've never tried Paint.Net. Yes, Paint's simplicity makes it a good program, no matter what people say. The bottom line is that anyone can use it. If you look on my Youtube, you'll find I faved a drawing by a artist called Michael Douglas who does tutorials on how to do animals and humans in Paint to a professional standard. I think he's awesome.

On GIMP you can download brushes... just like what you can do with PS XD Infact, there's a converter out there that let's you convert PS brushes to GIMP brushes. Super cool. And you can have animated brushes! ^^ I don't think PS has that... Sorry, didn't see it xD I'll check out your YT. I like your gallery. :3 Very nice. ^^

Why is this even a rant? I thought the rant was for the forums..not because you use a mouse or tablet.
I used a mouse for 5 in a half years and im not complaining.

This rant seems rather pointless to me. It really has nothing to do with the site. There are many drawing tutorials out there. You just have to look for them. So don't blame it on us.

Just recently I was reminded this was for main site rants... But there's a lot of rants on here that aren't really about the site either. :\ I know there is xD But meh... they don't help much. ._.; I felt like going off about this mouse deal... xD Can't remember why!

Not really. It is a rant and she is angry about something and she is expressing herself, she can do it if she has the need to.

Rant's are supposed to be made with the purpose of helping to improve the site somehow.

I'll have to agree with what several people have said already, and say this "Rant" is Rather pointless.. and I actually had somewhat of a hart time following it in some places..

I had to use/draw with a mouse for like 10+ years, its not too hard once you get use to it.

I purchased my tablet, and it was rather cheap (Vistablet) there are affordable tablets out there, you just have to find them. the Vistablet is 100 dollars brand new, they are made to be affordable to people who dont have the money to spend on a expensive "Fancy" Wacom..

You can still get wacoms cheap. Mine was $99. Might as well say $100. New from bestbuy.

Tablets don't automatically make you an awesome artist. You're not going to be any better with a tablet than you are with a mouse. I'm tired of hearing "I'd be a better artist if I had a tablet!" It's the same as "I only have paint so my drawings suck!" The materials don't excuse the quality. You work with what you got.

On subject, I've always used a mouse for everything. Not like I could use a tablet anyway, I have wrist problems.

O: Actaully, in general... this is a rant board, so shouldn't it be entitled to all rants? And this board has yet to get locked, so it is acceptable. End of subject.

Sora-- Yes, I know. MS Paint CAN make wounderful art. I've seen it do it, sometimes my art looks lots better on Paint rather than GIMP or other more advanced art programs. Haha, it is annoying... I used to be like that, "I need a tablet! This isn't my full potential..." Now I think the harder the thing you use to make the art, and simpler... That shows more of your full potential, so a laptop's finger pad, and Paint is hard to work with. My friend makes it look good. :]

Dunkin-- I never heard of those. I'll have to tell my dad about them. x] Yes, it is a lot easier after you get used to them. And sorry, I end up sometimes confusing people, so sorry about that.
