Anyone remember this series? It ended I think last year but I don't think its ending season reached the US yet. I know at some of the Balto Source members are French and this series is from France, where I do believe it was quite popular. Anyway the series centers around a group of boarding school kids, Jeremy, Odd, Ulrich, and Yumi. Though each episode has a subplot dealing with their normal lives, they're secretly protecting the world from an evil artifical intellgence known as XANA while for the first season trying to help what they believe is another artifical intellgence program named Aelita escape a virtual world called Lyoko, where XANA exists as well. XANA can use towers on Lyoko to reach out and effect the real world in various ways, from turning common items into massive monsters to taking over people. To stop XANA's attack, Odd, Ulrich, and Yumi go to Lyoko via scanner machines housed in the abandoned factory where the Lyoko computer is held while Jeremy controls things through the computer. On Lyoko, they have super powers and weapons which they use to get Aelita to the XANA controled tower so she can shut it down by entering Code Lyoko into the tower, something only she can do. Each season has a diffrent twist to it, most revolving around the Lyoko Warrior's attempts to destroy XANA and XANA's attempts to take over the world and avoid being destroyed.

So anyone like this series? It's a personal favorite of mine!

I used to really hate this show for reasons I can't even remember... maybe I just hated how big everyone's foreheads were. But eh, that's French anime for you. XD Just to spite it, I watched an episode, and now, I think it was one of the best shows ever to come on Cartoon Network. Lol, the first couple of seasons were what I missed, but thankfully, I started liking it at the middle of season 3/start of season 4, when things were starting to get REEEEEALLY good. Of course, that's when they had to stop airing it in the US.

I. Was. Pissed.

Of course, the remaining episodes can be found online, but for some reason, I never got around to watching them yet. I still think it's a very good series, though. One of the very few instances where mixing traditional 2d and 3d animation actually works. And hey, if you don't like the series... the theme song is really cool too. I can actually sing it in French. ^^

I am also PO'd about it getting cancled, I'm really hoping its continued over here. XANA is one of my favorite villians ever, he was so menicing, I think part of it was because you never see what he really looks like, he's mysterious and faceless, that and when he talked through his puppets, he just sounded so evil! I think the former, the mysteriousness faceless evil, is scary for the same reasons the slasher movie killer Micheal Myres is so spooky, the fear of stuff people can't see. It worked they never gave him a true form.

The show was great but I hated the last episode. It was just... meh. But it was great. I find Odd hysterically funny in the original French because in the original French he has a very high-pitched and somewhat girly voice. I rolled over and laughed and laughed.

From what I've heard, the last episode was pretty much a rap up on the series. It was pretty much just to connect the loose ends. Odd's voice was pretty funny in the USA verson too, they gave him a high-pitched one there too, though I haven't seen the French verson due to my computer being slow as a slug when it comes to video. I love the show though, William made for an intresting character, that and his 'XANAfied' form was bada$$.

I Hated the ending, it seemed like everyone was out of character. [Or was it just me?]

I haven't seen the ending but I'm aware of what happens. I mean they couldn't just leave it hanging after Hidden text : click to show
, it needed some closure of some sort. They writers must of just gotten lazy since there was no longer a threat to battle. I'd love it if they did a sequel series somehow, I just don't know how you'd do it.

For some reason, I always thought Sissy would've joined the Lyoko Warriors, she came close at least once per season. I wonder what she'd have looked like on Lyoko.
