I don't think it can be argued that Animaniacs was a great cartoon. There were enough zany characters and slapstick gags to appeal to kids with just the right amount of pop culture in-jokes and satire to keep adults laughing just as much. Some shorts even had an emotional gravity to them (Rita and Runt) and others were even educational.

Anyway, fans can discuss favorite characters, skits and quotes here.


Dr. Scratchansniff: How do you avoid bad elocution, Yakko?
Yakko: Stay inside during a lightning storm?

Dot: I found prints (holds up the pop artist Prince).
Yakko: No, finger prints.
(Prince smiles)
Dot: I don't think so.

*Wakko finds a bust of Dr. Scratchensniff*
Wakko: Hey look, a pez dispenser. Want one?
Dr. Scratchensniff: Stop playing with my bust!!!
*Yakko and Wakko look at each other, puzzled*
Yakko: *blows audience kiss* Good night, everybody.

Mafia boss: Show these kids the door.
Yakko: Thanks, but we can see it from here.

I used to like them, but i grew out of it.

Go back and watch some episodes. I promise there will be at least a few jokes you didn't pick up on when you were younger. Some pretty risque.

I loved this show when I was younger. I went out and got the first season and was so shocked at how many jokes I never got as a kid. This was smart comedy and it's a shame that not many kids are able to see quality shows like this anymore.
