.. I just read through your journal an dA. Extremly negative thoughts. You won't get anywhere by saying that. First off all, your art isn't the worst in the world. Everyone has to start somewhere, and believe me, your art has been better. I've seen that you've started to be a little better to use different expressions on your characters too. I know I'm going to sound harsh now, but the way you think right now won't get you anywhere. If you want to get better, study photos of what you're going to draw (For example, wolves) When you study what you're going to draw, you'll sooner or later be able to transfer what ever you see on to the paper. Remember: To draw is to see.Your art is cute, but, it's a little too..boring. No offence, but I would reccomend to be patient with your drawings. Add emotion to them, and colour them. Either by hand, or by using a digital program. I see that you make a lot of linearts in paint. Why not try to colour in some of those linearts, and try to make a nice background too? That really makes a piece of art more interesting. BTW, in the last part of your journal, it seems like you think that your art is only good if a lot of people favs it. If that's what you think, it's WRONG. What a 'good' piece of art is, is up to every single, unique person in the world. A stupid number that shows how many that pressed a button doesn't tell if it's good or not. Every artist in the world can improve. Not even the best artist/animator is perfect. No one is. Neither is anyone on dA. You describe yourself as ugly and bad person, but I think you're not. You should really stop these thoughts, grab a pencil and some paper, and look around. Draw what feels natural to draw. I'm sure that you can become better, and pleased with your art.

I really hate it when these situations come up, especially to an artist that I like. So I'll you give you my point of view on the situation.
No matter what your skill is, there will always be a point where you think you are doing terrible with that certain skill. This happens to alot of people, shoot it happened to me, that's why I was off of this site for over a year. I took a break from all drawing and stuff, and just relaxed. When I felt I was ready I tried drawing again, I still seemed to do horrible, but instead of going on another year of no drawing I kept at it and at it, until one day, like a daisy coming out of snow I could draw again.
So Zelda, don't say hateful things and don't hate your art, negativity gets you no where in life nor in drawing. So STOP CONTRADICTING YOURSELF. You were given this ability for a reason. And I especially don't want to see you give up either, just take a break from drawing or something, cause I don't think 'practice makes perfect' will fit this situation so I hope this little bit will help you or encourage you, like I said I don't want to see one of my favs hate their art when they know that their art is worth drawing!
I hope this helps!

But yeah, Helene be speaking words of wisdom here. A good critique, and she's right about the faves thing. It's just a number on a screen. I have a 3-5 minute doodle in my gallery that has a few hundred views which more than some of my best art gets, that doesn't make it a better pic. Like compare this to this. It's obvious the second is better. But which has more faves? So faves isn't a deciding factor at all. Also to add to the critique Helene gave you, I also strongly recommend drawing something other than canines to progress.

If you want to get better, you have to have a good attitude towards it. You will only get worse if you don't. For the most part, you need to work on your anatomy and your feelings.
