Last week, I went on a vacation to northern Minnesota to go canoeing at a place called Boundary Waters. While in the town of Ely, Minnesota, the gateway to Boundary Waters, my group took a side trip to the International Wolf Center. It was one of the coolest experiences I have ever had. We first had a class that taught us all about young wolves and how they grow up, followed by how wolves communicate through scent, body language, barking, and howling. I learned a lot more than I thought I would. After taking time to look through the various exhibits they had, we went on what they call a 'Howl In'. Basically, they bus you into the woods and you are taught to howl and communicate with wolf packs that may be in the area. We only had one response during the hour and a half 'howl In', but I still had lots of fun. I wasn't even embarrassed to howl in front of some of my closest friends. Here are a few pictures, and a 6 minute long video I took of the Northwoods Pack, which was the pack they had on the museum campus:

And, here's the video. Wish I brought my better video camera, but that would mean taking it into the wilderness for several days which would not be good for it at all. But, anyways, here it is. Enjoy:
