Now over the years, I loved watching the Disney channel. That's so Raven, Suite Life, the tv specials and original movies everything felt diverse and that is what I loved about. Maybe it is the lack of diversity, or maybe it is me speaking out ad addressing the fact that there has only been the caucasian people as main characters and all the other races left out becoming side characters or even cameos. I would like your opinion and if this is considered offensive you have my permission to delete, lock, or ban me for posting this.

I think you're onto something here. And there are a lot of other groups that tend to be ignored. Fat people, for instance, almost never get a positive role in anything, do they?

Yeah and you have very talented actresses like Brenda Song who is given a ditzy rich girl role though, now she is going to be in a new movie called Boogie Town. I also hate the fact that Asian and Indians are labled as nerds and game geeks.

*sigh*

sorry I am probably ranting now but i can't stand seeing all of the white people as the most normal while all of the other races are crazy or portrayng sterotypes

Well, you're not alone. Beanpole, freckle-faced white kids are automatically cast aside as nerds. Pocketprotectors, science bowls...ect. It's not fair, but hey, its stereotyping.

No no no. Its how they get cheap laughs. By re-representing what has already been established and what we are used to, they get to milk it for all its worth. Its been happening since pop-culture became relevant and even before that. I've learned to live with it. I'm a Catholic, and you think I enjoy all the bashing we get? Well I deal with it. Its not meant to be personally offensive, so I see no reason to dwel on it.

I guess, it just pains me to see racial sterotyping, and maybe it is the fact that they do not market anything complex enough for 16-18 year olds or make shows like American Dragon and Kim Possible

Thats because the only people who really watch Disney nowadays are 10 years old or yonuger. They don't really notice the absence of certain ethnicities or the stereotyping. They get entertainment, Disney gets money. Millions of kids from other backgrounds are left out, and they don't even realize it.

I have to say, I don't watch Disney nearly as often as I used to because they ended a lot of their better shows. I really miss Lilo and Stitch, which portrayed Hawaiians and honored their culture. I'm Native American, well my grandfather is pure blooded, so I'm part of a minority as well. Disney needs to restart shows like that, though I suppose in some of the cases, it's not their fault, the actors have lives of their own.

Godzilla --> That's a good point, sometimes actors leave for whatever reason.

Yeah, though in cartoons they can be replaced by someone with a simular voice but with live action shows, unless they have an identical twin, you really can't do that.

Then if that is the case why should the Jonas Brothers and Hannah Montana be the exception

It's true Disney had some good shows like Recess, Weekenders and other shows but honestly, I rarley watch Disney channel. The only times I catch it on, Is when my sister is watching and I happen to pass by.

What bothers me the most on it is the freaking commericals. K, I know every channel has comercials but when you advertise something that's been out for SO LONG. Give it a break.

Example? Well, Take Camp Rock for instance. Every freaking comercial break since they annouced it, was a camp rock commercial sining that annoying ''we rock'' song that you can't even make out the words. By the way, My sister watched that movie and said it sucked.

Well that's cuz the Jonas brothers we in it. Now they are getting their own show. WHAT. Them? Oh come on just because they can sing (Well not really xDD) Doesn't meant they can act. Look at Shaquille O'neal with Kazaam. Did that work out? Nooo. (Cept he was a basketball player..i think)

Back to Camp rock. then months later Many months after it aired. They STILL brodcast commercials about it. No matter how many times they try to shove it down your throat, the want you to know that the JO BROS ARE IN IT ZOMG111!!! (Im not offending any Jonas brothers fans, im just saying that GOD what Disney does to get you to notice their products.)

Now that I let that out, The shows they have on today is ehhh Well I dont really know them all but some are pretty stupid. The suite life was Okayy... but Now they have Suite life on Deck. *Sigh* That's so Raven I dont know about Cory in the house is alright.. There's been worse

The ones im more favorable of is Ned's Declassificed School survival Guide, but that's cuz it played on Nickolodeon... another channel going downhill. Well anyway, Here in Canada, It's called Family channel. I dunno and it's basicaly repeats so ya.

PS Hannah Montana is evil
