Hey!(Sorry 3rd topic.. I am not trying to spam ...O.o I don't think I am though) I want to take a step up from MS Paint and I would like to know what you use as an editing program:

I use: GIMP 2.6 and MS Paint for my art.

I rate it (1-10): GIMP 2.6 ~ An 8, because it's pretty good for what I use for.
MS Paint ~ An 8, because it is also pretty good for what I use it for.

It is (hard/easy): GIMP 2.6 ~ It's very frustrating at first if you're not used to layers and such, which after using MS Paint, is a irritating step up.

MS Paint ~ To easy... no need for layers or anything.

It is (great/bad): GIMP 2.6 ~ Not good for drawing, but great for what I use it for.

MS Paint ~ Bad for drawing, unless you use a tablet. Too unstable with the mouse.

Comments: I consider PMing me for my method of altering sketches to look like digital drawings.

It is (hard/easy):At first yes, but once you know what your doing, it's easy.
It is (great/bad):Photoshop is great
Comments: Photoshop isn't free.

I use: A combanation of GIMP (I think it's 2.6 version. Not sure anymore xD) & MS paint. I use both on all my pictures.

I rate it (1-10):

GIMP: I'd give it a 9 (keep in mind, I've never used PhotoShop).

MS paint: an 8 (been using it my whole life.)



It is (hard/easy):

GIMP: Well, it is a bit confusing at first, but after you get the hang of it, it's pretty easy.

MS paint: Yup. Easy as you can get, really.



It is (great/bad):

GIMP: It's a big switch from MS paint, but it's pretty good once you get the hang of it, if I do say so myself.

MS paint: It's great, and you can actully get pretty detailed with it. Providing you have the paitence. (I've seen some terrific pics done using JUST MS paint. Nothing else.)

Comments: The only time I've had trouble with photoshop is when I was using it for the first time. It takes a little while to get used to it, especially when you switch from another program, but once you get the hang of it it's fun and easy. The only other downside is how much it costs, just make sure you won't stop using it so spending all that money won't be pointless.
