I don't think so. All it is is another 2000 theory. I was only 7, but they claimed that the computers wouldn't be able to handle changing over to a new milineum, and that they would crash and the world would be a huge mess. People were buying food and storeing it. I'm not entierly sure about the 2000 theory. As I said I was around 7 years old or so.

That ended up being a no show. It never happend. That will make the 2012 theory false aswell. You can't predict the end of the world...

Just no. It's nonsince in my thoughts really.

It's Y2K all over again...though if you are really scared, go stock up on canned foods, wood, and water.

There world will not end in 2012.
There is no planet that that we haven't discovered that is going to crash into the Earth.
There is no random sun out there that will effect the Earth somehow
Anything else they've said that's going to happen due to a cosmic event / or other will not happen.
This is just a con for people to run out and buy book about how to save themselves thus it's a money making gimmick, they occur every few years.

Hey you don't have to take my word for it but considering I’m currently in my 2nd year of my university BSc Astrophysics’ course I think I have a good idea what’s going on in space, and trust me being in my position I've had many people ask me about this and it's driving me up the wall.

It's not going to happen. It's a fiction to all of us. We are just going to be alright.

No-one can predict when the world will end, it's nothing but a load of bull. Some people just make this stuff up to scare others...

It's mass-hysteria.

Should we really trust an acient civilization, that died out thousands of years ago, on when we will die out?

Think about it.

They thought if they sacrificed each other, the gods would bring water or shade or sun.

Please, they said the same in 2000, and guess what? We're STILL here, nine years later.

And again, they died out. They probably were going to finish the calender when the civilization died out, oir maybe they didn't want a calender so many years ahead and they decided to stop. These are all possible.

Are we going to die out in three years? No. It's just a technique to scare people into believing this stuff.

Will the Earth die out one day? Yes. But it won't be any time soon. If the Earth could survive through the dinosaur mass-extinction, it can live another three years at least. And the Earth is still young, in a sense, at the fact that planets can thrive for thousands of millions of years.

So, quit worrying. It'll die out, if it does, out of everyone's life time.

Everyone here will die before the Earth does. I can assure you that.

So there's really nothing to fear.

If the're is a "unseen" planet that's going to crash onto earth, it must be going so fast we cant see it, or it's lurking out of sight and will only be seen in 2012. Which I think is impossible.

I really don't think that the world will end in 2012. In fact, I've heard some theories that 2012 will be the time when all of humanity experiences a positive intellectual or spiritual transformation, or a new sociopolitical age for the global community. Granted, these are just theories, but they are positive theories, instead of doomsday scenarios.

Difference: theories are backed by facts and correlated aspects given to connect two or more given circumstances together. They are solid-foundationed conjectures meant to predict a logical outcome or to give an explanation for reason of something otherwise inhumanly capable of being measured, observed, and studied with tangible evidence. These Doomsday scenarios, on the other hand, are held beliefs based on the instable grounds superstition and (argue with me on this) fear. And seeing that you can say what you believe without something to show for it, I'd may well classify this as one of those as well...

...unless you can provide one of these "theories" you speak of without having to copy and paste whole blocks of text from somewhere else? Because I'd hardly describe the intellectual or spiritual transformation you mentioned in your post as POSITIVE if you think it'll bring about the end of the world [as we know it.... and I feel fiiiiine. :3]

The people who have brought together this entire end-of-world thing aren’t stupid, they know scared people mean irrational people. They know irrational people will believe things and do things they don’t usually do. They are playing on the fears of people to make a couple of dollars based on books and merchandise, the sad thing is these people don’t care that they’re scaring people its all because they’re playing on peoples fears just so they can gain something themselves, AKA money.

If the Earth lives out its normal lifespan it'll be around for a very long time the sun isn't going to die for at least 4 billion years, but I can't say the worlds not going to end it could end tomorrow for all we know but the chance of that happening is not very high but no one can look into the future and plan these things to happen at any certain time let alone an exact date, besides I personally believe we'll destroy ourselves before any out-of-world catastrophe happens.
