CHAPTER 1
“We are now pleased to present the new King and Queen of the Pride Lands, Queen Namna, and King Serenti, they are now the new rulers,” Heri told the whole pride, “I shall not be here to guide them, but, Furahi will be, I trust her enough, I hereby stand down and give up my role as Queen of the Pride Lands,” as Heri said this she let out a sigh, “And as I step down I’d like to say that I’m leaving the Pride Lands to go to the Sun Pride,” Heri then looked at Duni and Furhaia, “Do you two have anything to say?” both of them nodded and walked up to the promontory, Duni first spoke, “I just like to say that, even though I stayed her for a short time it felt like years, and I feel like I never got to know any of you, all I have to say is it was great meeting everyone, and I hope that all of you will stay the way you are and not be overcome with greed and lust for power, and I’m going to miss you all,” then Furhaia spoke, “I would like to say that for the ones I met they were the best thing in the pride, they helped hunt helped fight off intruders, and for the newest members of the pride, we’d like to say welcome to the Pride Lands, and we hope that you enjoy living here,” Furhaia paused and then began, “And as I stand here I would like to present my sister’s cub,” Namna then walked up next to Furhaia, “As I stand here I now declare that Sierra is the heir of the pride lands,” then both Duni and Furhaia roared to show respect for the heir of the Pride Lands, and so did everyone else. After the ceremony Furhaia, Duni, Shintara, and Shangeti walked to their small cave, “Alright we leave when the sun goes down we do something as a family, Shangeti it’s your choice, what do you want to do?” Shangeti said softly, “I want to hear a story,” “What kind of story?” “The story of my real mother,” Furhaia stammered, then Duni spoke, “I got this love,” she then moved Shangeti into her paws, “Your mother was one of my best friends , well my only friend I had when I was your age, we did everything together, we promised each other that we’d always be friends no matter what happened, then when we got older we started to separate, she began to be more mature, to mature if you ask me, I tried to talk to her but she shrugged me off, I don’t know what got into her, then when I pinned her she nearly clawed my eyes out, then I left her alone, but I kept a close watch on her, she’d only talk to my mother, after a few days I left and came here, then I met Furhaia, and everyone else here, well you know the rest from there, so in other words she was the best lioness, that I ever met,” Duni said starting to cry, “May she rest in peace,” Shangeti to was crying, “My little one it’s okay shh, your with us now, don’t worry,” in a stifling voice Shangeti said, “I miss her, so much,” “I know you do, I miss her as well, I miss my mother, we all lost someone,” “I need to be alone,” Shangeti said getting up, “Just tell me where you’re going so when there’s danger I will look for you,” “I’m just going to the top Pride Rock,” “Alright,” Shangeti then left the cave.
As Shangeti ran up to Pride Rock she ran into Heri, “Hi Shangeti, I need to talk to you,” “Can it wait please? I need to be alone,” “I’m afraid not,” “Okay,” “You see, I don’t know how to tell everyone this, so I’ll tell you since you’re a cub,” “Ok what is it?” “I’m pregnant,” Shangeti smiled, “Congratulations,” “You can tell Furhaia… I mean your father that I’d appreciate it,” “I will when I’m done skulking,” “Ok thanks Shangeti I just don’t have the heart to tell him,” Shangeti nodded and walked up the summit of Pride Rock and sat down looking to the sky, “Mom why did you have to die, I’m left alone without knowing who you really are I barely begun to know you,” Shangeti buried her face in her paws and started to cry, Tene was walking around when he heard this and walked to the summit, he saw a sobbing Shangeti, “Shangeti?” he called to her, but she didn’t move, he then walked up to her and nudged her, this made Shangeti look up, peering into deep yellow eyes, “Hi Tene,” “Are you ok?” “No, not really,” “Because of what happened?” “Yes,” “I understand your sad, she killed your father so he wouldn’t hurt you, she died protecting you, and if I’m not making things any better let me know I’ll stop,” “No you really helped, I think I’ll be fine, it’s just that it made me feel better when you told me I would be fine,” she got up and nuzzled him, “Thank you very much,” “Your welcome, come I’ll walk you to your den,” Shangeti smiled at him as they walked down they could be seen by a shadowy figure, the figure smile, and said, “Remember Shangeti I’ll always be with you, I’ll be in your heart,” then the figure disappeared.
In the small den Furhaia and Duni were looking through the mouth of the cave, “Furhaia I’m getting worried,” “I know so am I,” then Shangeti and Tene walked in, Furhaia and Duni sighed in relief, “How you doing Shangeti?” “I’m better now,” “Good come here there’s something we gotta tell you, Tene could you step outside for a moment,” “Sure,” Tene walked outside, and Duni began talking, “Listen since we’re a family now, we’d just like to say that you can tell us anything if something bothers you, and we’d also like to say that, we will give you a choice as well as Shintara, you have the choice to stay here or leave, what is your choice?” I don’t know,” “Ok we will give you two days to think it over, now go on and have fun, oh and Furahi gave Tene this talk to, the both of you can talk it over,” “Ok, mom,” Duni’s eyes welled up with tears of joy when Shangeti called her mom.
“My name is Kejeli, and I am the new leader of your pride,” Kejeli said to a pride of lionesses, then one walked up to her, “And what makes you think we want a leader after three of ours have died,” “But I’m not like you other leaders, I will lead you to victory,” the lionesses scoffed “I don’t know,” she turned her head to the others, “What do you think?” they all nodded, “Fine you are our new leader,” they all bowed to Kejeli with honor.
Chapter 2
“Shangeti!!!” a small soft voice called, Shangeti turned, and it was Shintara, “Hey, what’s wrong?” “Nothing I just want to tell you I’m going with Mom and Dad,” “If you’re going I guess I will too,” Tene looked back and forth at the two, “I will go as well,” Shangeti looked at him with happy eyes, “I’m glad, lets hang around for awhile, we have two days left,” “Okay, Shintara do you want to hang around with Shangeti and I?” “Sure, where we going?” then Shangeti spoke up, “Let’s go swimming,” Tene and Shintara both agreed and the three cubs ran off to the waterhole. From the cave Duni could see them she smiled to herself, and said, “Look at them they are the best of friends,” Duni got up and followed before she left she said, “Furhaia I’ll be back I’m going to check on them,” Furhaia smiled and playfully shooed her out the cave, “Be careful love,” “I will.”
When the three cubs arrived at the waterhole, they jumped in the shallow area and relaxed, “This feels nice and refreshing,” Shangeti said, “Right you are,” Tene replied, then out of nowhere a figure appeared, the figure jumped in the water, “who’s that?” Shintara asked, then the figure resurfaced, Shintara was getting scared but then calmed down when she saw it was Duni, “Hello little ones,” they all said their greetings and started to wrestle, after what seemed like hours the four retired to an acacia tree, “Hey mom?” Shintara said shortly after, “Yes Shintara?” “Ummm…..when are we going to leave?” “We are leaving as soon as you are ready, so what are your choices?” Shangeti then spoke, “We will be ready in two days so you can enjoy the time you have left here,” “Thanks mom,” Shangeti said nuzzling her, “Shangeti you seem to be adapting to calling my mom, what happened to just calling my Duni?” “Well, Tene told me that I can still miss my real mother in a way, but you are as close to a mother I have now,” Shangeti then walked to Tene, “Thank you for cheering me up Tene,” “Your welcome,” both of them nuzzled each other and fell asleep.
Kejeli paced back and forth looking at her followers, “Excellent, I have great warriors for this upcoming battle,” “We only wish to serve,” the lionesses said in unison, “Good, I will choose the day of attack, we attack the Pride Lands then we Attack my old home the Sun Pride and kill King Furhaia and Queen Duni, and their precious children,” one of the lionesses eyes went wide, then walked up to Kejeli, “Did you say Duni?” “Yeah I did, why do you ask?” “Well I knew her family,” “Did I forget to mention that I’m her sister?” “Yeah you did, why do you want to kill your sister?” “Because she betrayed my trust, she killed many of my pride members and turned them against me,” “That nearly happened to us when Viza became our leader after Ufu died,” “I assure you that will never happen.”
Duni then suddenly awoke, ‘What was that strange feeling just now? Nah it can’t be,’ she then looked at the three cubs and smiled at how they were sleeping , ‘They decided, and I know what the choices are, we leave tomorrow then, they are ready,’ Duni then got up and nudged the three cubs, “Okay you three let’s head on back, since you have chosen to come with us to the Sun Pride, we will actually leave tomorrow,” Shintara, Tene and Shangeti cheered, and started to tackle Duni, Duni fell to the ground laughing, she then grabbed Shangeti and started to tickle her, “I’ve got you now,” Duni playfully said, “Now come on we can continue this when we get back.”
CHAPTER 3
“Mom, there is something I need to tell you,” Shangeti said, “What is it?” “It’s Heri, she’s pregnant,” Duni’s eyes went wide, “Let’s hurry we’ve got to tell Furhaia,” they ran back to Pride Rock, they then got to the small cave only to see Furhaia nuzzling Heri, Furhaia smiling, “Congratulations Heri,” Duni said, “Thanks, I’m very happy, Furhaia will be a big brother and Namna a big sister,” “Well now we have more to add to our pride,” Furhaia said, “Yup,” “Mom we need some rest we leaving in the morning, ok you can stay here with us,” “Ok, thanks,” then the six lions fell asleep.
DREAM:
Shangeti was walking though the Pride Lands, being as happy as possible, just then she saw a flash of light, “What is that?” she asked herself, she walked up to it, then a voice was heard, “Shangeti,” it said in a soft sweet feminine voice, “Who are you,” she said showing a little fear, “I am Shangili, your mother,” this made Shangeti well up with tears, “Mom,” she ran up to the figure and nuzzled her, “I miss you so much mom,” “I know you do, this is where you’d seem happy to see me, in your dreams,” Shangili then embraced her daughter tightly, “I love you Shangeti, promise me one thing,” “Sure what is it?” “Promise me that you’ll never forget me,” “I will never forget my true mother,” Shangili smiled and rubbed her daughters head, “You were always mine, and you’ll always be mine,” then a tear streaked down her cheek, “Shangeti?” “Yes mom,” “Open your eyes,” Shangeti opened her eyes and looked up into the eyes of her mother, “Yes?” “I will be in your heart, always no matter where you are, no matter what happens, I’ll always be with you.”
Shangeti woke up with a start looking around, she then saw the loving smile of her mother, “I love you mom,” Shangeti then looked at her new family and smiled, she got up and walked outside. Once outside she looked up to the night sky, “You will never leave my heart,” she then dropped to the ground and fell asleep outside.
“Now remember these Pride Landers aren’t weak, you must hit them where it hurts their hearts,” then one lioness laughed, “What are you laughing about?” “Hehehehe, we did that before, when Viza was leader, it failed miserably,” “Well then why don’t you come up with a plan?” “We attack full on, and if that doesn’t work we sneak attack them,” Kejeli nodded her head, “That might work, and since you came up with those plans you decide what we do,” “Sneak attack it is then,” “What is your name?” “Suherti,” “You are my second in command, if I die you take my place,” “Will do.”
When morning came Duni woke up to the bright morning sun, she looked outside and saw Shangeti lying in the sun, “Has she been out there all night?” As she got up she then saw that Tene was with her, “Has he been there to?” she walked up to them, “Shangeti, Tene, time to wake up,” both cubs woke up to the sweet soothing voice of Duni, “Ok,” Shangeti yawned, “Come on you can help me wake your father,” Shangeti smiled, and got up, but then looked at Tene, he was still sleeping, “One moment,” Shangeti lowered her head to Tene’s ear, and blew into it, this woke up Tene, “Who did that?” he said, he then looked into Shangeti’s eyes, “Oh morning, is it time to go already?” Duni nodded her head, “Yup so let’s go wake up everyone that is coming with us,” then a thought came to Shangeti, “Mom?” “Yes?” “When that fight started you were fighting Kejeli, what happened to your voice?” “I really don’t know myself, I knew who the voices belonged to,” “Who?” “Scar and Zira, they were once evil but they seemed to help me, or they were possessing me to kill everyone,” then Duni heard their voices in her head, “No we helped you, things change in life and we changed we decide to help those who are of kind souls, and we chose you,” “Mom you ok?” Duni then shook her head then nodded, “Yeah I’m fine, come on let’s go,” Tene, Shangeti, and Duni walked into the cave, Duni walked over to Shintara and nudged her gently, Shintara woke up, “Morn…” Duni covered her mouth with a paw, “Shh, let’s wake your father like we used to,” Shintara smiled and got up, “Okay Shintara get on his back, Shangeti you pull his tail, Tene get on the right side of his head, you are going to blow air into his ear and I’m going to do the same thing,” everyone nodded, “On Three, one…..two….three!” everyone did what they were suppose to do, Furhaia awoke panting, He looked around and saw everyone looking at him, “What time is it?” “High sun rise,” “We over slept?” “You over slept love,” “Anyways we need to get everyone that’s coming with us,” Duni nodded and walked outside. Once outside Duni roared to get the attention of everyone that was joining them, everyone came out of the upper cave and looked down and saw Duni, “All those that are joining me and Furhaia we are leaving so come down, we leave in 5 minutes,” the lionesses that were going walked down Pride Rock, “Good everyone here?” the lionesses nodded, “Good, let’s go.” Then Duni and her new pride left for the Sun Pride.
“Well, it appears that they have left,” Kejeli said out loud, Surherti then walked up to her, “How do you know?” “Let’s say a little birdie told me, we attack when my sister arrives at the Sun Pride,” “You mean that bird betrayed their trust?” “Yes she has,” “How did you get her to do so?” “Easy, ever since Duni came around, the bird apparently hates her,” “Why?” “She has evil spirits in her,” “The spirits of who?” “Scar and Zira, let me tell you this, I was suppose to have their genes their knowledge, but they decided to help that wretch, because they now realize what they did was wrong,” Kejeli then stopped, and looked at the sky, then back to Surherti, “You know something, I’m glad that I have a new pride to lead to victory,” “I would be glad too, what are your orders?”
Chapter 4 “Mom my feet hurt,” Shintara complained, Duni turned and walked up to Shintara, “Alright Shintara, up you come,” Duni grabbed Shintara by the scruff of the neck and carried her, just then Shangeti walked up to Duni and asked, “Mom how much farther?” Duni then replied mumbling, “About a day and a half,” “When do we relax?” “Soon enough,” after two hours of walking Duni put down Shintara, “Okay everyone time to relax,” Duni said calmly, everyone then stopped and started to go on with their business. Furhaia, Duni, Shangeti, and Shintara walked to a shady spot and lay down. “Mom?” “Hmmm?” “Can I ask you something?” “Sure Shangeti what is it?” “Well, it’s kinda personal, can we talk in private?” “Sure, Furhaia I’ll be back,” “Okay, me and Shintara will wait for you,” Duni got up and walked with Shangeti to a private area where no one will hear what they say, “So what did you want to talk to me about?” “Well what is it like to love somebody that is very close to you?” Duni then let out a happy sigh, “Let me tell you how I met Furhaia,” Duni pulled Shangeti close to her, “Well it all started when I was walking through the pride lands I was then knocked off my feet, by Furhaia, he did that because he thought I was Kejeli, and he was also protecting his sister, but after awhile he showed me around the Pride Lands, then he took me behind a waterfall, then we fell in love, so love is complicated and easy so just be yourself and be truthful,” “Thanks mom,” “Your welcome.”
“Surherti?” “Yes?” “We attack the Pride Lands today,” “I’ll get the others,” “Good,” then Kejeli smiled to herself, ‘You will die brother,’ “Hahahahaha,” then Surherti ran up to her and said, “We are all ready,” “Good let’s move out.”
From Pride Rock sat Serenti, ‘I have a feeling that something is going to happen,’ he thought to himself, “Sister’s, my three sisters, I couldn’t tell Duni she was my sister, I couldn’t tell her,” just then Namna sat down beside him, “You know you could’ve told her before they left,” “That’s true, But then I would have left you alone,” Serenti then nuzzled Namna, just then something caught Namna’s eye, “Serenti, Kejeli she’s back!!!” “What that can’t be,”
“ATTACK!!!!” every lioness in Kejeli’s pride then attacked, one by one the lionesses fell, “Hahaha,” Kejeli laughed evilly, “Go for the leaders,” then two lionesses walked up to Serenti and Namna, “Namna run get out of here, NOW!!!” Serenti told Namna, “I can’t leave you,” “Please I’ll be fine trust me,” Namna nodded then ran off, “NAMNA WAIT UP!!!” Furahi shouted, running with Tene at her side, “I’m going with you, so you can get there safe enough,” “But what about Ukweli?” “He’s helping Serenti, just go,” Namna nodded sadly and ran off with Furahi and Tene.
Shangeti was walking about being as happy as can be, but then in the distance she saw to figures running in her direction, “Who are they, she then noticed one of them is a cub, “Tene?” she said, then the figures stopped in front of Shangeti, “Shangeti where’s Duni?” “She back there, why?” “The Pridelands are under attack,” “What!!? Alright follow me,” Shangeti led them to Duni and Heri, “Mom, Heri, the Pridelands are under attack,” Duni’s and Heri’s eyes went wide, “It is?” both Namna and Furahi nodded, “And I think Serenti and Ukweli are in danger,” “The battle won’t last long darling,” Duni finally said, “What makes you say that?” Heri asked, “Kejeli, she is a coward, one little scratch and she will run off, it always happens when she got in a fight,”
Kejeli was fighting Serenti but Serenti got the upper paw he slashed at her head and got 4 cuts on her head, Kejeli backed off a little “You fight well Serenti, you won this round,” Kejeli roared and ran off, leaving the Pridelands once more. Ukweli walked up to Serenti, “Should we leave these lands and go to the Sun Pride,” “But we can’t leave these lands or she will take it over easily,” with a sad nod Serenti said, “But we have to make sure our loved ones are alive, if Namna is dead, I wouldn’t be able to live, and beside she has my cub and I want it to be in the world.”
Chapter 5
Shangeti was getting worried about her friends that were in the battle, she was worried that they might be dead. “Mom what are we going to do?” Shangeti asked Duni, Duni looked at Shangeti, “I don’t know I don’t know,” Duni said rubbing Shangeti’s back softly, “Shangeti come with me I need to have a word with you,” Duni said softly, Shangeti nodded and followed close behind, “What did you want to tell me mom?” Duni sighed, “Shangeti, I know you are worried about the other pride members, but some of them won’t make it back, some will, hopefully Serenti and Ukweli will make it back here, trust me on this, alright?” “Ok,” “Shangeti, you and Shintara are the best thing to happen to me, now that I have two cubs to care for,” Duni began to smile, “And you and Shintara are to be the ones to rule the Sun Pride when my time comes,” “But I don’t lose you, you’re my mommy,” “I know Shangeti, but you won’t lose me for a while now, I’m still young, I’ve got a long time until I die,” “Good, I can’t bear to lose another mom,” Shangeti nuzzled Duni affectionately, “I love you mom,” “I love you Shangeti,” Duni smiled looking down at Shangeti, “Come, we move on in a little bit, I’ll carry you on my back,” Shangeti nodded as she walked with Duni back to the group. Once they got there Duni told their group that it is time to move, they all agreed and began walk. As they walked they couldn’t help but look at how Shangeti was getting too attached to Duni, some began to say in a low whisper, “look at that she is getting really attached to her,” and “Ain’t that cute?” As Shangeti walked beside Duni she kept on thinking, ‘I’m so glad I have as my mom now,’ she smiled as she rubbed against Duni’s leg. Duni couldn’t but smile to herself, she bent her head down and picked up Shangeti, she then stopped and put her down; Duni hen crouched to the ground so Shangeti could climb on her back. With Shangeti on Duni’s back, they began to walk again. Then Shintara came up to Duni, “Hey mom are we almost there?” “Yes dear almost, just a few minutes to go,” then Shintara noticed that Shangeti had fallen asleep on Duni’s back, “She really is attached to you isn’t she?” “Well sweetie she has to be, ever since her real mother was killed, I’m taking responsibility for her, a promise from a friend to a friend, now she is mine to take care of.” Shintara looked kinda impressed to keep a promise like that; it was a big promise to keep.
Shintara then began to fall back so Furhaia could catch up, “Hey Shintara, what’s up?” “Oh nothing, just waiting for you,” “Oh I see,” he then noticed that Shintara had a look on her face, “Your jealous that your mother is paying attention to Shangeti aren’t you?” Shintara nodded, “Well honey Shangeti lost her mother, so she needs the attention she can get, do you understand me?” Furhaia said softly, Shintara nodded, “It’s just that she needs it more than anyone, she’s just your age, losing a mother at your age is kinda tough to cope with, now come on just because your mother is giving attention to her doesn’t mean I can’t,” Furhaia crouched to the ground and let Shintara climb on top of him. Duni kept on looking back to see how everyone was doing, they are doing fine, “Alright everyone almost there,” Duni said, “Furahi come here please,” Furahi walked up to her, “Yes Duni?” “Can you take Shangeti for me, I need to talk with Furhaia, and you know the rest of the way,” “That I do,” Duni grabbed Shangeti by the scruff of the neck and placed her on Furahi’s back. Duni walked up to Furhaia, “Hey you,” she said, “Hey, you know Shintara has been kinda jealous of Shangeti,” “I think I know why, no need to explain,” she then leaned her head in close to Shintara’s looking in front of her every now and then, “Shintara, baby,” Shintara began to stir, “Shintara, it’s me,” Duni said, “Hmm what?” “Come here,” Duni walked in sync with Furhaia so Shintara could jump from his back to hers. “Is that better?” Duni asked Shintara, “You see I can give as much love to you and Shangeti, it may be hard to do so, because I’m just one lioness,” she chuckled lightly. After a few minutes have passed, they arrived at the Sun Pride it seemed so empty, except for a few lioness that stayed behind, they looked up and saw Duni, “She’s back, we have a ruler,” they then saw who was in front, they gasped, “It’s her,” she then raised a paw showing that she was friendly, “I don’t believe her,” then Duni came up to them, “Hey, watch what you say to her, she saved my life, she is well respected in the Pridelands,” the other lionesses nodded and began talking to each other. Duni then set Shintara on the ground, in the safety of their new cave, “Sleep well my darling,” Duni said licking Shintara’s head. Then Furahi came in carrying Shangeti, “Here you go Duni,” “Thanks Furahi,” Duni said taking Shangeti from Furahi, she then set Shangeti next to Shintara, “Sleep well my darling,” she then licked her head and curled up with her cubs.
Chapter 6
When morning came, Shangeti awoke to Duni’s head being near hers, she licked Duni’s nose lovingly like a cub always did with their mothers. Duni weakly opened her eyes and stared right back at Shangeti, “Morning Shangeti, how’d you sleep?” Duni asked, “I slept well, how about you?” “Good, little one,” Shangeti smiled as she jumped onto Duni’s back, “What are you doing Shangeti?” Duni asked as she heard a playful growl coming from Shangeti. Shangeti then playfully pulled on Duni’s ear, Duni just laughed at what was happening, she then stood up and grabbed Shangeti by the scruff of the neck, and playfully pinned her with one paw, and with one claw began tickling her tummy. “No stop-Hehehe-Hehehe-Hehehe,” Shangeti laughed, “On one condition, you let me give you a bath,” in between laughs Shangeti managed to say, “Ok, Hehehehe you win,” Duni then stopped tickling Shangeti and picked her up and carried her outside, she then carried her to a pond where she used to get bathed. Duni and Shangeti got to the spot near the pond, Duni set Shangeti down in her paws, and began bathing her, and then Duni said “One day you’re going to be too old for this Shangeti,” “I know,” Shangeti said sadly, remembering that her biological mother used to say that to her. “What’s wrong sweetie?” Shangeti snapped out of her trance, “What? What did you say?” “I was asking if you were ok,” “Oh yeah I’m fine I’m just thinking,” “Oh I see,” Duni said licking Shangeti’s hindquarters, “You don’t need to tell me anything about it,” “I do, it’s just that my real mommy used to say the same thing to me when she used to give me a bath,” Duni sighed sadly, “Shangeti, what I’ve learned in my life, as you grow older you are never too old to do your normal stuff,” Shangeti smiled as she looked up at Duni, “Really?” “Yup, no matter how old you get you’ll still have a cub side in you,” Duni smiled down at her, “All done with your bath, come on I know your gonna get dirty anyways, why don’t we go for a nice walk together. Duni was sticking to Shangeti like glue, and Shangeti stuck to Duni like no other cub could.
When the two returned Duni and Shangeti bumped into Furahi and Tene, “Oh hey you two,” Duni said, Shangeti walked up to Tene, “Hey Tene, how are you?” Tene looked at Shangeti with a smile, “Nothing just admiring this place,” “You want go someplace?” Furahi looked down, “You know there is a special tree you two can go to, right over there,” Furahi pointed, “It is my tree where I’d always go to,” the cubs looked at each and smiled and raced to it. “Furahi aren’t you gonna tell Tene that is where you made love to Ukweli and the fact that you were originally from the sister pride of this place?” “When he gets older I’ll tell him,” Furahi said as she carefully moved the fur on her head away from a scar, ‘I better not tell anyone about this new scar I got, ***** that Kejeli,’ a flash of bright light is only visible to Furahi, a familiar voice to her could be heard, “Furahi you are worthless,” then a sound of a swat came and a yelp of pain was heard, “Get outta here,” said the voice of Kejeli. Then Furahi snapped back to reality, “Ummm, Duni there is something you need to know about Tene,” she said with a smile, trying to get into a conversation with a friend, “What is it?” “Tene has a crush on Shangeti,” “Well that’s nice I have a feeling Shangeti has a crush on Tene as well, they can be mates, Shangeti isn’t my true daughter,” “Yeah but she calls you mom you took her in,” “I took her in for a friend, and yes I am treating her like my own, is that a crime, she was defenseless and weak at the time, I had to take her in, I couldn’t let her be alone,” “I know Duni, I’m just saying, calm yourself,” Duni took in a few deep breaths, “Ok, thanks Furahi, I allow this to go on, with their relationship, they seem to be getting along rather well.” Furahi looked over in their direction; they were looking out to the horizon head to head. Shangeti was head rubbing Tene’s head and neck purring deeply. “Shangeti, I love you,” “I love you too Tene,” they both nuzzled each other, unaware that they were being watched by a pair of watchful eyes, “Shangeti why do you get so much attention than I,” said a soft girl voice, “Mother isn’t giving me the attention I desire, ever since you came into the picture I’ve been left in the dark, if she wants you then I guess I’m not needed,” then they pair of eyes disappeared into the darkness of the cave. Shangeti looked at Tene with her violet eyes, and he looked back at her with deep green eyes, they then kissed each other on the lips, “Awww look at that Furahi, young love,” “the same thing happened to me when I was their age, it happened with Ukweli, my first and ever true love,” Furahi smiled, “I just wish her mother never had been killed it was all my fault I told her to help me, but in return she was killed by Kejeli, I never forgave myself for it, and I know I’m not giving Shintara enough attention, but I feel that Shangeti needed it more, since her real mother ain’t around anymore,” “I know, you’re doing the right thing Duni and I’m sure Shintara will forgive you.”
Chapter 7
Shintara was pacing back and forth in her cave muttering to herself, “It is all her fault, why must I be getting less attention, Shangeti this Shangeti that, I deserve as much attention as she does,” she then went into a dark corner she then sat down glaring at the new couple as they walked in, she let out a growl of hate at them. Shangeti and Tene went to a nice warm spot where Duni was last night; they sat down and started to talk, “Shangeti are we going to live here for the rest of our lives?” Tene asked “Well I really want to I love this so much,” “Then once we’re older we’ll live here you and me.” Shangeti smiled and kissed him on the cheek. “So you have yourself a little boyfriend now do you?” Shintara said with a hint of anger in her voice, “Shintara how long have you been there?” Shangeti said, “Long enough to hear, that just you and Tene are going to live here,” “Yeah we said that but that doesn’t mean we’re going to be alone,” Shangeti said, “You’ve changed ever since your mother gave me the attention I desire,” “Why did she have to give you more attention, I’m her true blue daughter,” “Well my mother was killed, what do you expect, I need the attention and care more,” Shintara’s eyes flared at her, “You should’ve stayed back there, back in the Pridelands,” “Maybe I should’ve, then I wouldn’t have to look at you anymore,” Shangeti said as she sat up and walked away from Tene and Shintara sobbing as she ran off. Tene looked at Shintara glaring, “Why did you do that?” “She is taking my mother away from me,” “She is not, she is giving Shangeti what she needs, a mother,” “Then why doesn’t she find another instead of my mother,” “Your mother? Your mother so happens to be the nicest lioness, she left to protect you from Kejeli, so I’ve heard, she protects you with her life,” Tene continued, “And your saying that Shangeti doesn’t need love from her, if you can’t except that then maybe you’re better off having no friends, if you treat someone like Shangeti with that attitude.” Tene then left leaving Shintara alone.
After a little while Duni came in with a scolding look on her face, “Shintara what is the matter with you?” Duni asked, “Why did you hurt Shangeti’s feelings?” “She deserves it for taking you from me,” “Taking me from you?” Duni shook her head, “I’m only doing what I’m supposed to do, I am taking care of a cub in need that lost its mother, you don’t know what it is like losing a mother, she’s lost a mother, I lost a mother, Furahi lost a mother,” “She killed her,” Duni swatted Shintara’s rump, “She did not, that was a rumor, her mother named Herra, she was nicer than I, she protected her daughter with all her might, when Kiro, Furahi’s father gave her those scars on her cheek, Herra stood up for her, if you don’t call that love then I don’t know what to do with you,” Duni paused, “As of now you are to stay here, the only time you’ll be able to leave is to drink water, eat, and doing your business do I make myself clear?” Shintara nodded, “Good, now stay here.” Duni then left the cave. Shintara was angry, she wanted Shangeti dead, she wanted nothing more to do with her so she had a plan, she was going to leave and join Kejeli’s pride, “At night I’m going to leave and find Kejeli ask her if I could join her, and then I’ll become stronger than these ungrateful lions.” Once night came all the pride members came in and began to drift off to sleep, Tene and Shangeti fell asleep together, Shangeti’s head on Tene’s back. “Perfect,” Shintara said to herself, she got up slowly not making any noise, she then exited the cave, only to stop suddenly when she saw Furahi and Namna talking, “***** it,” she said quietly, she followed along the rock wall. Shintara made it she was home free, so to speak. “Now time to find Kejeli.”
Chapter 8
As Shintara ran she found that Kejeli had made herself at home in the Pridelands, she walked up to her bowing her head, “I’ve come to join you Kejeli, “Apparently I’m not wanted there anymore,” Kejeli looked at the cub, “Really….well then welcome to the pride little one,” “Thank you, your majesty.” Shintara’s eyes were flaring with hate and rage. “Now once your older, we will attack them then you can get your revenge,” “Yes ma’am, thank you.” After a year of Shintara being gone the Sun Pride counted her as one of the dead, “Furhaia, I can’t believe it, she’s gone,” “I’m sure she’s not dead,” “Then where would she be?” “I don’t know maybe she found a good spot, and stayed there,” Furhaia said trying to make things better, then Shangeti walked in she was a beautiful young lioness, “We’ve looked every again and again, she’s nowhere,” Shangeti said with Tene on her left side, “Alright you two can go and rest,” Shangeti smiled as she licked Tene’s cheek, “Thanks mom,” Duni’s lips managed a smile, “Your welcome,” she then walked passed them. Shangeti and Tene then walked outside the cave, “Tene I can’t believe her, this is lower than low,” “I know, but she is a sister to you,” “Why should she for what she said to me a long time ago,” “Your right,” Tene sighed, he then kissed her gently on the nose, “You know we are going to have to try tomorrow, I know for a fact she isn’t dead,” “I know, but I just can’t trust her,” Shangeti said softly, “Hey how about if I go and you stay here?” “No I will go with you, maybe she ran back to see if your dad is alive,” “I know he is,” Tene smiled at her, “Come on let’s go,” Shangeti smiled and nodded before she kissed Tene on the lips. This made Tene smile from ear to ear. “Alright let’s go,” Shangeti said, as the two walked away from the pride they were stopped by Furahi, “Where are you going?” “Uhh mom, we are going to look for Shintara,” “At the Pridelands I presume?” “Yeah I think she’s there,” Shangeti said, “Well I’ll cover for you, but I can’t make any promises,” thanked he two young teenaged lions thanked Furahi and left. They walked for what seemed like hours until they reached the border of the lands, “Ok we are here, but it doesn’t feel the same,” Shangeti said, “Yeah it does seem different,” the two then began to sneak up to Pride Rock.
Shintara began to stir she caught a familiar scent, “It’s them,” she growled, she then got up off of her stomach and walked outside the cave. She looked out to the distance and saw two figures; she glared at them as they approached her. “What are you two doing here?” Shintara yelled, “We’ve come here to get you back,” “I’m not going back it’s because of you, ““What are you talking about?” “No one wants me there,” “That’s not true, mom misses you,” “Yeah Right, why don’t prove it,” Shintara said as she jumped down from Pride Rock. “That’s what I thought, you’re lying to me,” Shintara said as lunged at Shangeti pinning her, placing a claw over Shangeti’s throat, “You will die now,” she laughed evilly, as the rest if Kejeli pride came out from nowhere, “Good Job Shintara, you have done me and Onea proud,” Shangeti was shocked, “Onea? My father?” Shangeti looked at Shintara with anger, “You bitch,” Shangeti silently said, “You Bitch!!” Shintara looked at Shangeti with a glare, “What did you call me?” Shangeti was now breathing deeply, “You sided with them for the wrong ******* reasons,” Shangeti said again with pure hate. “I hate you for what you did, I will probably never forgive you, you have done some low stuff back then, but this is the lowest you’ve ever gotten,” “You will be sile…” “No you will listen to me now, you are the worst sister, I never want to see you again, I don’t care about you anymore you can go and rot somewhere for all I care,” Shangeti said as she turned her back to Shintara, Tene looked at Shangeti, “Shangeti that was a bit harsh don’t you think?” “No it wasn’t harsh enough, remember what she would do to me when ever Duni gave me more attention than her? She would tackle me claws extended at my neck,” “I do remember that,” then Shintara shouted in, “Then why don’t you kill me,” Shangeti was getting fed up with this, “I won’t kill you because mom wants you back, and apparently you don’t want to, so good-bye forever,” Shangeti said before leaving. Leaving the offending pride members stunned at the outburst that just happened, Shintara standing there stunned, “You know you should’ve let her get the attention, now she really doesn’t need it, now that me and her are going to become real close to each other.” Tene was about to walk away when he turned around, “You really are a monster, if you are going to be like this then don’t bother showing your face around the Sun Pride again,” everyone gasped, they looked at Shintara, but she didn’t show any expression, “Fine then it will be war then you will all die by this pride,” Kejeli walked up to her, “Good Shintara, when do we attack?” “We attack in a few day’s give the time to get ready,” she said as she watched Tene run to Shangeti.
Once the couple returned they walked to where Duni was, “Mom, we found Shintara,” Duni jumped up, “Where is she?” Shangeti walked up to her and said, “She’s with Kejeli, she’s far from the old Shintara we knew,” Duni’s face changed from happiness to sorrow, then to anger, then Tene spoke, “She said that we will have a war,” “She doesn’t know what she’s getting herself into,” Duni said, “She doesn’t realize she’s killing me from the inside and outside,” Duni said on the verge of tears. ‘Now she what you did Shintara,’ Shangeti said to herself, “Mom come on I’ll go back and talk to her again,” Tene was about to say something, “Don’t say anything Tene, this is between me and her,” Tene knew when not to speak when it came to seeing Shangeti like this, so he stalked back a few paces, “good luck, my love,” he said loud enough for her to hear, Shangeti smiled back at him, and began to walk back to the Pridelands. The journey was a tiring one, she had to stop to take a breath every now and then, after a day she made it to the Pridelands, she saw them the killers, she then heard Shintara’s voice, “Move now!” she yelled at one of the lionesses, then Kejeli walked up behind her, “Kejeli, why am I the leader now?” Shintara asked Kejeli, “Because you are so full of hate,” Shintara smiled, “Oh and one more thing Shintara, who do you want to kill first?” Shintara chuckled a little, “Shangeti and my mother, plain and simple,” Kejeli smiled at her protégé. Shangeti got up from her hiding stop, “Shintara should be leaving to go to the water hole about this time, she always does,” Shangeti waited, then she saw Shintara leaving for the water hole, “Perfect,” Shangeti said to herself, she followed Shintara unseen. Once Shintara was in sight, Shangeti charged Shintara and knocked her into the water, Shintara resurfaced after she was submerged for 2 minutes, coughing and sputtering, “Who did that!?” Shintara said angry, “It was me, you should be ashamed of yourself Shintara,” “Why because I want you and mom dead, it is your fault,” “You have no idea how much you hurt her, “ Shangeti paused, “If it’s war then war it shall be, you and me deal with this, you just leave mom out of it, how about we fight now,” “Fine,” Shintara said as she climbed out of the water.
Shangeti readied herself for Shintara, once Shintara was out of the water she lunged at Shangeti roaring. Shangeti side stepped, Shintara fell to the ground, she jumped up and attacked again pinning Shangeti this time, Shangeti let out a growl of pain when she hit the ground, she then put her back legs under Shintara and kicked her off of her, once Shangeti got up her head was met with a clawed paw, Shangeti rolled to the ground and got up slowly, but then she was hit with another paw, she then sprawled to the ground not moving. From Pride Rock the commotion could be heard, the new pride there ran to where it was, “Shintara what’s going on?” one asked, “We had an intruder,” “Intruder?” came the voice of Shangeti, “This is my home, this is your home, this is everyone’s,” Shintara turned to face Shangeti but was met with a swipe to the side of her head, Shintara fell to the ground, “You don’t realize anything Shintara, you and me used to be friends, more than friends we were sisters, but I guess we’re not anymore, I see no point in letting you live,” Shangeti then raised a paw and put it gently put it on Shintara’s head, she then began to put pressure on it, But suddenly she stopped, Shangeti’s expression changed, “If you dare come to the Sun Pride we will not hesitate to kill the all,” she said to her former sister, and then she ran off. Once she got back to the Sun Pride everyone was overjoyed to see Shangeti, “Where is she?” asked Furhaia, “She’s still there,” Shangeti said before passing out. When she awoke she was surrounded by loving faces, “Shangeti what happened?” came the voice of Tene, “Shintara nearly killed me,” she then looked to where Duni is, “And she wants to kill you too,” “I had a feeling,” Duni said coldly, “Fine then let her, that won’t make her any happier,” Duni said before walking off, Furhaia followed his mate shortly after. Then Furahi walked up to Shangeti, “Shangeti dear? She can be changed, my brother Ondoka changed me, maybe someone can,” “Who?” “Me, I’ll tell you what we wait her for the war that she started and I’ll teach her a lesson,” “No it’s my duty to do that, if she won’t listen then I’ll have no choice but to kill her,” “I see, you have to do what you have to, just let Ondoka, Tunaini, Heri, Tene, or me if you need anything,” Shangeti smiled lightly, “Thanks,” she said before falling asleep, Tene saw this and went to her and put his arm around her, comforting her.
Chapter 9
The next morning Shangeti woke up with Tene cuddling her, she smiled and closed her eyes again as she felt his body against hers. Tene felt Shangeti stir he kissed her on the head and smiled, “I love you Shangeti,” he said lovingly, “I love you too,” Shangeti said back in her soft sweet voice. She turned her body around to face him as she hugged him closer to her body, she then kissed him on the lips gently. Duni just so happened to walk in and see the two together, “Isn’t this a pretty picture,” she said as she smiled at them, “Wouldn’t you say so Furhaia?”She asked him, he nodded as he smiled back at them, “They do make a wonderful couple, don’t they,” Furhaia smiled as he looked at the couple, “We better leave them be, I think they want to be alone for awhile,” Duni nodded and began walking out of the cave. As Duni and Furhaia walked out of the cave Duni looked at the ground saddened, “I wish I had Shintara back, she is out there, helping that bitch,” she said distastefully, “Duni we’ll get her back I promise,” “Thanks Furhaia,” they began nuzzling until Furahi came up to them with urgent news, “Guys, I’m sorry to intrude but they’re coming, this way,” Duni’s ears perked up, “Then ready the pride for the battle, if its war they want then war they shall have,” Duni let out a loud roar that spread across the open field.
As Shintara lead her new pride she stopped when she heard the familiar roar, Mother,” she said with hate, “Move forward!!!” she shouted, rain then began to fall all over the land. They then began to move with a steady pace. Once Shintara and her group arrived Shintara jumped onto a rock, then Duni did the same onto another rock, “I’m home mother,” Duni looked at her with a glare, “What you are doing is wrong Shintara, you are not only hurting yourself your hurting your family,” Shintara chuckled, “Family? This is my family now,” Shintara said as she jumped down from the rock, “You are not my family anymore, unless you admit that you loved Shangeti more than me,” Shintara said, “I loved you both equally, I don’t chose between my children,” “LIAR!!!!!” Shintara yelled, she then roared telling her group to attack, Duni did the same. Both groups collided, attacking, growling, scratching, and biting, Shangeti came running out with Tene, “What is going on here Tene?” she whispered, “A war, we gotta do something,” Shangeti nodded as the two bolted off to the battle. Shintara was about to attack one of her ex pride members, but before she could do anything she was tackled by Shangeti, “Shintara you are making a big mistake,” she said panting, “A big mistake? Wrong this is the right thing to do, I made the right decision, after you took my mother’s love away from me,” Shintara raised her paw and brought it down on Shangeti’s head, Shangeti fell to the ground, her head throbbing with pain. Shangeti then slowly began to get up, “Shintara stop this please,” “Never,” Shintara said, Shintara then brought her paw down again this time giving Shangeti cuts on the top of her head she let out a yelp of pain. Duni heard this and turned around and saw a sight that she didn’t want to see, Shangeti’s neck was in Shintara’s jaws, “SHINTARA!!!!!!!!” Duni yelled, Duni charged at her Daughter and tackled her, making her let go of Shangeti’s throat, Shangeti fell to the ground neck bleeding. Duni held Shintara down, “You listen to me now, you were loved by everyone, you were loved by me, the reason that I didn’t show any to you is because I was giving some of my love to Shangeti, she lost her mother, my friend, you would’ve done the same thing, if you don’t believe me then you might as well not return,” Shintara was stunned had she really changed. Then her expression changed to pure hate, “Get off me!!!!” she yelled for everyone to hear, Kejeli and the others looked to Duni and Shintara. As Duni looked down at Shintara, Shintara gave a wink to her, Duni’s eyes went wide, then she smirked. Shintara then said angered, “Get off of me,” she then put her hind legs on Duni’s stomach and kicked her off. Duni fell to the ground with a thud, “Shintara stop,” Duni pleaded, “Never,” Shintara raised a paw she then stuck Duni which knocked her to where Kejeli stood, Shintara walked forward she then raised a paw ready to strike again, right when she was going to strike down, her paw switched targets hitting Kejeli in the head. Kejeli sprawled on the ground, “Shintara what are you doing,” “Seeing the light again,” She said, “I’ve been believing that I wasn’t loved by them,” Shintara advanced to Kejeli snarling, “You traitor,” Kejeli said through clenched teeth, Kejeli got up, and smiled evilly, “You are a traitor your sister is on the verge of death,” Shintara looked at Shangeti who was on the ground losing blood. “You have made me into a killer Kejeli,” Shintara said, she raised her clawed paw and swiped at Kejeli who took the blow, she sprawled across the ground. She then got up again, “You will pay for that,” Kejeli said as she lunged at Shintara, Shintara looked at Kejeli and lunged at her as well. Both collide, biting and clawing. Duni looked up from faking her own death, she saw that Shintara was fighting Kejeli by herself, “If she loses this I’ll never forgive myself,” Duni began to get up but fell to the ground exhausted from the fake fight she and her daughter had. Then her eyes went wide, “Shangeti,” she looked over to where Shangeti’s body lay, she began to crawl to the body of Shangeti, “Shangeti speak to my sweetie,” Shangeti didn’t move much, she then moaned in pain, “Mom?” she said in a pained voice, “Shangeti, hang in there, we almost won,” Duni’s head then fell to the ground exhausted.
The fight between Kejeli and Shintara went on for another few minutes, and then with one blow Kejeli and Shintara fell to the ground, “Kejeli you are evil, and you corrupted my mind,” Shintara said, Kejeli slowly got up and looked straight into her opponents’ eyes. Without another word Kejeli struck Shintara, knocking her to the ground, Shintara was stunned, her body just quit on her, she is losing her strength, “My strength is draining,” Shintara said to herself, “I can’t win,” her head then fell to the ground out cold. Kejeli walked to her slowly smiling evilly, “You will die traitor,” she growled, she then bent her head, almost grabbing Shintara’s neck with her powerful jaws. Shangeti began to get up slowly and weakly, “Leave her alone,” she said, blood leaking from her mouth, she then built up all her strength, and ran to Kejeli knocking her to her side, “Leave my sister alone, “ she said with a hoarse voice, Shintara looked up, “Shangeti, I’m sorry,” she said, she tried to get up but failed, her eyes closed, but as soon as she closed them she heard a scream, she opened her eyes and saw Shangeti on the ground again, her neck bleeding uncontrollably. Shintara got up and turned to her once called battle group, “Stop this fighting,” she said in a commanding voice, they all stopped, “You don’t realize you’re hurting your own family, Kejeli has turned you all against them, she is the monster,” they all gasped, and nodded their heads, “She’s right,” “Kejeli is the one to blame,” “Kill her,” they all said, Shintara smiled wickedly at Kejeli, “Your army is no more Kejeli, you have lost,” “No…you have,” Kejeli then looked down at Shangeti, “You have lost everything,” she then put a paw on Shangeti’s neck, making it bleed even more, Shangeti let out cries of pain, Duni heard the cries and got up as fast as she could, from a ways back Furhaia, Furahi and Namna heard the pained cries, they stopped what they were about to do to Kejeli’s used-to-be second in command, they ran back to see that Kejeli was killing Shangeti slowly, Furahi let out an ear piercing roar, “KEJELI!!!” she bolted to Kejeli, “This ends now, you and me,” Furahi said, “Ah, Furahi I was wondering when you’d show up, fine then,” she lifted her paw off of Shangeti’s throat , “Bring it on, you bitch,” Furahi said as she circled around, Kejeli stood still, “Attack already,” she demanded, Furahi smiled, and nodded, just then Kejeli was attacked by Furhaia, Duni, Namna, Furahi, and Shintara. Kejeli couldn’t handle this, she was losing, not a good idea, Furahi then spoke before holding Kejeli, “It was stupid of you to take this challenge, I fight, my whole family fights,” she then looked at Duni, Furhaia, and Namna, “Hold her, Shintara come with me, she hurt us the most,” Shintara nodded, “This is for hurting everyone we ever loved,” Furahi lifted her paw and brought it down on Kejeli’s head. Shintara then rose her paw and brought it across Kejeli’s jaw. “Pease stob dis,” Kejeli said her words incomprehensible due to her hurt jaw, Furahi then stopped short of her blow, she then placed her paw on Kejeli’s chest, “Why should we, if I remember correctly, when I returned to the Night Pride, I saw my mother dead, in my den, you were the one who killed her,” Furahi said hatefully, “And for all I know you killed my mate,” Kejeli tried to move but couldn’t, “Pease stob,” she began to cry, “Mom stop!!” Tene yelled, Furahi and Shintara stopped both at the same time, “Tene?” Furahi gasped, “you can’t kill her, she can’t take much more,” “You can’t be serious, she has caused so much destruction and pain,” Furahi continued, Kejeli pleaded apparently trying to make amends, Furahi looked deep into Kejeli’s eyes, ‘She is a killer but, I am one to know, I was a killer,’ “let her go,” Furahi said to the others, everyone was shocked, “Why should we?” Namna asked, “Well if you don’t remember let me refresh everyone’s memory, I was once a killer, and you all forgave me for me horrible deeds,” she then looked at Kejeli and let out a sigh, “Kejeli look me straight in the eyes, are you willing to give up your evil deeds?” Kejeli nodded sadly admitting defeat, Furahi saw it in her eyes, she was serious, “Let her up,” Furahi said softly, the ones that held Kejeli down got up, Kejeli got to her feet and ran off sobbing.
Chapter 10
When Shangeti awoke she was in pure pain, she let out a roar of pain as it coursed through her body, Tene heard her pained roar, and ran to her, “Shangeti don’t move to much you lost a lot of blood, it’s a wonder how your still alive,” Shangeti put her head down gently, “I saw a light, I saw my mother’s face, my real mother, she said, that it wasn’t my time, she said, that my place is here, in your embrace,” “What else did she say?” “She said, that I will never be alone again, now that I have you,” Shangeti smiled as her head was on the hard ground, “here put your head here,” Tene said as he motioned for her to put her head in his paws, she gradually accepted the offer. She then began to fall asleep, from up above, smiled the ghostly figure of Shangeti’s mother. But all was not okay in one part of the savannah, Kejeli sat sobbing, “Why must I be so evil, all I wanted was a better world, but now I see that all I caused is destruction,” Kejeli rubbed the back of her head, “They will never forgive me at all,” Kejeli looked around, she was alone, “It is not going to be good,” she got up and began to walk towards the Sun Pride. It took her about three hours to get to her location, she gulped, as she walked up to Shintara, “Uh hi,” she said nervously, Shintara glared, “Furahi, come here,” Shintara said, Furahi came running to them, “Kejeli? What are you doing here?” she asked confused, “I wanted to say sorry,” Kejeli was on the verge of crying, “I was mean and cruel, but that’s no excuse for the way I acted, I understand if you hate me for it, and….I didn’t kill your mother,” Furahi was stunned, “Who did?” she asked, “It was a rogue lion, he came to take over the pride your mother tried to stop him, but she lost the battle, but the other lionesses fought him, and he ran off and died a week later, I only said I killed your mother, because I hated you before,” Furahi walked up to Kejeli and raised a paw, Kejeli flinched in fear, but then she felt a soft touch, “It’s ok, I forgive you,” Furahi then hugged her, letting her know that she was being a friend and not an enemy. “You are welcome into my family,” “But what about the others?” “Forget about them, you stay with me, I’m going back to my birthplace, the Night Pride, and I am taking some of your pride members with me,” “What about your son?” “He is staying here with his love,” Furahi smiled, “He deserves her more than anything,” Kejeli sighed, “And your mate Ukweli, he ran off to the Night Pride, I let them live, and as for Serenti, he is out there looking for a new home, I never wanted to hurt them just Duni and you, she was my sister if you remember correctly but she betrayed me, and I lost control,” “Kejeli just stop okay, I understand we leave now are you ready?” Kejeli nodded, “Alright you can stay here and I will let them know,” Furahi walked off to tell the rest that were going with her.
As Kejeli waited for Furahi she was confronted by the others, “What are you doing here?” Duni asked, “Uh, I’m waiting for Furahi,” “Yeah right,” Furhaia said, backing up his mates comment, “IT’s the truth,” Kejeli began backing away from them, “Why don’t you get out,” said Heri, “But I…” Kejeli was about to run away when she was stopped by Furahi, “You’re not going anywhere but with me,” she said smiling, “Heri you have been in that cave in labor during that battle, you have no idea what I said to her, and the only other ones that I don’t see here that are yelling at Kejeli, are Shintara, Namna, and who else, oh yeah me,” Furahi said, “Furahi but,” Duni began, “Don’t but me young lady, don’t’ forget I’m older than you, I saw you when you were a little cub, you may be queen, but I can still say what needs to be said,” Furahi then turned to face Kejeli, “Let us go Kejeli,” Furahi smiled to her, “Oh and by the way you guys, she was a killer and so was I,” Furahi cleared her throat, “I changed and so can she,” she then motioned Kejeli to move. As the two began to walk to the awaiting group they were stopped by a sweet sounding voice, “Furahi,” it was Shintara’s voice, “Shintara? What are you doing?” “I’m coming along with you two,” “You want to be with me?” Kejeli asked, “Not just you, everyone here in our new pride,” Kejeli tried to smile, but her jaw hurt so much from the hit that Furahi gave to her a day ago. “Your jaw still hurt Kejeli?” Furahi asked, Kejeli nodded, “Let me see Kejeli,” Furahi said, she walked up to her and placed a paw on Kejeli’s jaw. Kejeli winced at the touch, “It hurts,” she said, “Well it is healing, you’ll be fine,” Furahi smiled at her.
