Okay, I have noticed alot of people don't realy know alot about sled dogs and have a team. Here are some things you need to know when drawing, writing, or creating a character.
Sled Dogs Don't Have Dew Claws Around the age of 2 days, people clip off sled dog's dew claws. The pups don't feel anything because They don't have all the nerves in thier little paws yet. Why do they do that? So the dew claws won't get tangled up in the strings and ropes when pulling a sled. I notice most people draw thier sled dogs with dew claws.
Not Just To Be Cute Okay, I know that everybody wants thier char on here to be a cute young skinny healthy young looking dog but people in Alaska don't want those cute little skinny dogs, they want dogs that are strong and good navigators. They don't breed Huskies with dobermans to get cute little dogs to run, they breed malamutes with stronger dogs like huskies, and dogs with big fluffy fur like samyoeds.
Two By Two Not all sled teams have one lead dog and how ever many dogs going two by two until the sled, they also can have two lead dogs. And alot of people but thier favorite char up there saying 'he/she is SOOO speacial! Lead dog is such an important and awsome dog!' well, all positions are important, and nobody likes a poser.
If you would like me to add somthing about sled dogs you know, and don't think many other people do, please tell me and I'll add it in.

i know that.. sled dogs aren't huskies, they are all mutts, who have parents/ancestry of high energy dogs who were meant to race. Siberian Huskies were bred for it but they aren't fast enough and don't have that much energy, well compared to the Alaskan Huskies, containing part husky and another breed.
Sled dogs are trained all year round, and need constant exercise, people should really consider owning an Alaskan Husky or a dog bred for sled racing.
about the dew claw thing, actually puppies do have feelings, and they can feel getting dew claws removed, that's why when they get it done, they bring the puppies to a back room, without the mother. Well, i got this from someone who did have puppies and got their ddew claws removed.
