I've been really annoyed by something... People who've been here for ages, have been acting hostile lately. It's like they think because they've been here for so long, they can get away with anything! That is another topic all it's own, I'm not going to name names, but if you're told your acting out like this lately, please think about it! They could be right, and please change your attitude! There are connections between this, and what this topic is really about. These people's one target is commonly, the newbies. We all know them. You who are reading this, you were once new to this site. We all (or at least many I'm certain of you) know what it's like, Awkward, nevous, making mistakes. Needing someone to help them and only getting grief in return, they extend a hand hoping for one of us to take it and send them straight, but they are left to fall. If someone needs help setting up their signature and you know how, help them! It only takes a few minutes of your life I promise you! When they use incorrect speach, take into consideration that this is a website! People here are from all over the world, not just the United States, but also from Italy, England, France, Scotland, (these all just from browsing through two topics) and anywhere on this planet with an internet connection! Some might be here to improve their English, and they only get harassed when they so much misspell a word. It's okay to tell someone when they've incorrectly spelled a word, but to say: "Your grammer sucks!", only hurts them so that they one, don't learn the right way, and second, think that this isn't a friendly site and that no one cares. Especially if no one sticks up for them. Please help if you see someone (not just a newbie) getting 'bullied'. This is a site for all ages, and should be enjoyed by all, not just those with four or more stars. I'm going to teach you all something right now for when you're bullied. Stuck in the middle of a spam war, or a member say something that insulted you? Click the "!" icon in that post. Attachment:

After clicking it, calmy explain the situation. Don't type out what happened in anger or with words you'll regret, or you'll be as bad as them. I've also heard situations where the newbies are treated like they're the badguy, when it was another member who started the "spam war", or what ever situation. I hope Steet and the mods will take into consideration that even if it is the 'net', new people are still nervous, and uncertain about things. They may forget a rule, or make a slight error, but haven't we all? I'll admit I've slipped a few times. But through expirence and help, I've learned. I know they can too, if given the attention and chance. When I first came here, I was excited, and felt so welcome with the friends I made and how friendly the Balto/Lion King/and now Tale Spin Source community was. And I was proud to be a member. But now...I don't know what to think. This rant probably won't get through some skulls, but I hope it shines some light to blind eyes, and tells those who are new here, that if you get harassed, ignored, or treated unfairly, there are still members here who are willing to lend a helping 'paw' or ear. I myself will gladly do what I can (just PM me), to ensure that the new members of the Source enjoy their stay. + Roi Doberwolf

Well said. Will likely go over the heads of those whom this topics targets though. These are the people who fit comfortably into little pathetic groups so they can all watch each other's backs, and since they have their best-friends-forevers with them they think they can get away with anything. And likely they do because they have backup from local powers, who are also involved in the "bff" groups. These kinds of groups aren't necessarily bad, but the ones that form a collective ego can become bad. I've seen it myself. Since all too often I see newbs get treated badly, I try to counteract that by be helping if I can, then moving on. I only hound people for grammar if they speak English as a primary language and are of an age that proper grammar can be expected. I try to use good grammar/spelling when I post. If I can't spell something I will look it up, and I kind of expect others to do the same. Again though, those who speak other languages and are learning English, I have no problem dealing with it and will make an attempt to understand what they're trying to say. Anways, well said.

But it doesn't take mastery of the English language to know a few basic things. I'll help you out if you choose to listen to me: When you say: i agree alot with what roi says and i just like to say ghost, im english and i still suffer with grammar and spelling.. You should say: I agree mostly with what Roi says and I'd just like to say to you Ghost, I'm English and I still suffer with grammar and spelling. Don't use three periods (...) so much, full stops work just fine for most of the time. Use capital letters for the start of a sentence and always capitalize 'I'. That's basic punctuation that I learned in Year 1 or 2, and I'm 13 now, so there's no excuse for not knowing that simple fact. Not anymore, anyway. And a report shouldn't be taken so personally. As a matter of fact I'm pretty sure that typing correctly is a forum rule.

As you said that politly i wont fight. but PLEASE dont correct my grammar.. its something that annoys me mostly about people on this forum. its readable, it dont got to be perfect -.-, so dont go off topic and judge the way i type. its the way i type, i will improve but for now, Deal with it. dont become like another member of this forum i know and go out of topic to judge me to turn into a fight to turn into me geting baned And reports are a big deal as i got warned twice for spam when for both i never started or done... and now im one from ban and i dont want that to happen. so please lets end this before we start it and back to this topics real meaning. Please? ( But thanks atleats you said all that in a polite way, we need people like you. all i said up there ^^^^ was what i feel when people do get told stuff, ye please dont ban me for it )

And if you post on this forum, you are subject to the opinions and interpretations of other members. As you said: "deal with it". It goes BOTH ways. Quote: dont become like another member of this forum i know and go out of topic to judge me to turn into a fight to turn into me geting baned Hmm...who's that I wonder? And who turns those things into fights that run the risk of you getting banned? At the moment it sounds like you're starting the fight JC. I've seen you spam topics before. Don't do it in mine.

I'm new to this site, and personally... I will most likely break the cursing rule since I have a VERY bad habit with cursing. On the other hand, seriously? This site too? That is terrible! On gaia, the same is happening. Threads are being bashed for liking Miley Cyrus, or for bad grammar or for even ETHNITCY! I'm sorry, I know I spelt it wrong... again. ._.; Glad you made a rant thread about this, it is a good topic... Ghost pretty much nailed it, I also... look at the person's age and location. If they are in a different language country, or even a different country... Then I be a bit nicer, but it mainly depends on age for the spelling and grammar.
Still, by the time you turn 13 you should be able to write 3 paragraphs minimum. :\ And I hate it when people blame it on diseases and mental problems they have! It's very annoying, I noticed on hex, a Harry Potter roleplay site, that people are bashing old and new members. It's a huge disgrace!
