Hey, anyone ever hear of the highly anticipated FPS game for Wii called:

Image

Taken inspiration from games like Metroid Prime 3 Corruption and Medel of Honor Heroes Two, High Voltage studios software is behind the development with SEGA as it's publisher.

Set in post alien invasion Washington DC, a secret government group, known as The Trust, send Michael Ford out to battle against the enemy forces and uncover the mysteries of the invasion events.

The game features a full, interesting story; fully customizable controls (Wii Remote + Nunchuck); fully customizable HUD; and multiplayer online supporting the Wii Speak microphone (12 players)

The game's release date is just upon us. June 23rd, 2009 for the USA in two versions: Normal and GameStop Special Pre-order edition with artbook and two codes for in-game goodies.

If anything, this is a game I've been waiting for!!

Sounds immensely interesting. Just the story itself makes it almost worth buying a Wii. (almost =P)

I'll be keeping my eye on it, for sure!

I can't wait till the game comes out! I've got it pre-ordered at Gamestop already. I'm hoping this game is as great as it sounds cause that would defiantly be a large chunk of my past 6 months wasted anticipating it's release but some reveiws have begun to surface and it sounds like it should be better than any Wii FPS so far. So here hoping!

For sure!

I'd say you don't have to worry about wasting your time (I'm in the same camp, ever waiting since it first was announced on IGN without a publisher). As far as anyone can tell until the game is released, it is a solid single-player and multiplayer experience.

The IGN Wii team did say in their most recent Nintendo Voice Chat podcast that it was like a Golden Eye and Perfect Dark experience.
The wikipedia article already has two reviews on it with what I would consider an IGN average of 7.8. The don't necessarily trust Nintendo Power or Official Nintendo Magazine with reviews but this put our ideas in the same ballpark IGN might give it. Though, they did have to say that is was positively smooth experience online like Halo was on Xbox (assuming Halo 2 and Halo 3).

Slowly but surely my fear of the online mode being buggy are going away.

Only two days left!

Online on the Wii actually has been much better than I think a lot of people give it credit for. Super smash bros was the only game in which lag was crippling. I play a lot of Call of Duty: World at War online and 90% of the time it's smooth the other 10% is mostly made up of issues I create by trying to download things on my computer while attempting to play lol.

Nintendo Power is always a little lenient when it comes to games but this time most of the other review sites actually seem to agree so hopefully things will run as smooth as everyone said.

Yeah, I'm not too worried.

The only shooters I have is Metroid Prime 3 and Medal of Honor Heroes 2, Metroid being offline.
You are right though. Aside from SSBB, there are not many games that have such a hard time with Wii's online capability. Mario Kart Wii, ExciteBots, and Medal of Honor Heroes 2 have been completely lag-less from all of my play time with them. And I've seen COD5 online as well, virtually the same.

I guess SSBB is just a poor unlucky sole. Too bad it had to be one of the most sought after first party games in pretty much ever.

The only major sites I really trust review scores is IGN, and to a lesser extent, Gamespot. Of course there are other sources I like to run through.

You know you can also try Metacritic.com it's theoretically a compilation of all the reviews across the internet to find a "perfect" common ground and remove any extreme biases by compiling everyone's opinion into one "Metascore"

Only 15 hours left for my end!

I did end up coming across a multiplayer video. With it, I think it is safe to say that the online multiplayer is very stable!

The Conduit - Online Multiplayer

IGN said this in their review, but the individual connection quality of the players play a big part in the overall experience for the match. Though, it sounds like most games are going to run seamlessly, you'll come up on some lagging games. But really, what else is new in a world on online gaming?

Well i got the game about 45 minutes ago and I'm taking a break from singleplayer to see what online feels like. so far single player isn't bad the best part is the solid feel of the controls that Red Steel totally lacked.

my FC: 2836-7863-8905

PM me if you wanna play

Just got home with the game. Unfortunately, I've got class in a bit and a ton of homework afterward.

Oh well.

Bump.

Yeah I've had this game for a few months and I love it!! I have yet to even touch the story mode and went straight to the multiplayer. I think the multiplayer is the most fun for any game on the wii now. The graphics are amazing for a wii game, and even though it makes me seem like a Halo loser(which I kinda am) this game is refreshingly like Halo for the wii in my opinion.
