Hey guys! I saw a topic similar to this, but it was from last year (or something), and it only had four posts.

But I would like to call all football fans (Football = Soccer, arg, hate that word) to the attention of me, to give me information about who you support, play for - Or follow.

I support Manchester United FC as a first team, Dartford FC as a second, and local club, and finally Millwall FC as a third, and former local team.

The idiotic Sepp Blatter, president of FIFA has banned Chelsea from signing players until 2011. As a Manchester United fan, I should be happy. But I feel the main reason FIFA (Foolish International Football Association; as I know call it) have banned them is because English clubs are to successful for FIFA to handle, and thinks if English clubs get any better, we will rule the world of football. So what do you think about the issue?

Not really... Spanish teams like Barcelona or Real Madrid are just as good and the English Manchester Udt or Chelsea, maybe even better considering last year's results. And so are the Italians Milan, Inter and Juventus. Not to mention that the national football team is worse than other European teams, especially France and Germany. And I didn't even mention south America. While you sure have good teams, calling yourself "the ruler of the world" is inappropriete.

Well,it's very good to know that there are other countries, besides England with good soccer teams.

I like the English teams,Chelsea, and Aston Villa.

Practically, we have the best teams in the world. I'm NOT saying the La Liga, Bundasliga(sp?) Exec. teams aren't to the standards of English teams, they are. However in a practical sense we are dominating Europe, having at least 1 English team in the Champions League final. And in 2008, an all English final. Not to mention the poor refereeing that got Barcelona into the UCL final, Chelsea deserved to win that. But I believe it was a ref. from Norway? Never should of done that game. To slow. Plus, the climate in Rome was bad for United. Barcelona are use to hot climates, United are not. Not to mention the fact United where in their away kit (I think if one team is in away kit, so should the other). They don't call the Premier League the greatest league in the world for nothing.

Concerning our National team, I was not talking about that, I was talking about the club stage.

The likes of the National teams (Such as Brazil) are fantastic. The club team's well... Cant think of one.

In the US, LA Galaxy, the only reason anyone in the UK has heard of it was because of Becks. The MLS? Is the same as the English Football Conference.

In reality, Barcelona should never have made it to the UCL final in the first place. And climate was stacked against United.

And may I ask Togo, how is Real Madrid "better" then the likes of United, Chelsea, Arsenal, and Liverpool? All they've done is bought is loads of rejects (like they always do), who are never going to get anywhere.

Unlike 99% of Italians, I hate to watch football, I find it really boring.

You're not alone. Apparently Juan Pablo Montoya, a Columbian race car driver, also hates soccer. He once said, "22 guys running behind a ball. I don't find it very interesting."

ROFLMAO! What a fantastic quote! And quite true!

Rather like the game of golf (gotta love the Scots for that one)...just like George Carlin once said about it, when describing how unbelievably and inexplicably boring it is... "hitting a ball with a crooked stick, and then...walking after it. And then...hitting it again!"

my mom also hates soccer, that quote about soccer is also what she always says when she sees me and my father in front of the TV watching a soccer match! xD

And in 2006 (I think) 3 out 4 semi-final teams in Champions League were Italian, and obviously 2 Italian teams in the final. And the year after, again, an Italian team for the final. Does this make Italy rule the world? No, not at all, it's just a 2 year raw. England didn't less than that: in a lucky year it often happens to have two teams from the same nation playing for the first position of the Champions League. And a team in the final... It means nothing: we both now how it goes, there are Spain, Italy and England with few other nation that have the possibility to win when they're lucky. Statistically, NOT entering the final means a bad year. But I don't really need to write much about this, Barcelona proved my point just a few months ago. And no, the climate is not a valid argument: if, as you claim, you rule the world, you should win everwhere in the world, not only where the climate is similar to the British one.

No, I listed this as one of the example's. Theoretically it is supposed to be a neutral stadium, not favouring one team. And in fact for the last two seasons three English clubs have been in the semi's. And it should of been an all English final. But because Barcelona was cheating, thanks to the poor referee, they managed to snack a last goal.

And you narrow the field again... First the climate, now only the clubs. Again, "rule the world" doesn't mean that you have a good chance of winning only when the situation is at your advantage.

I was never concerning the national team in the first place. As I WAS talking about the likes of Chelsea and Manchester United. Not England as National team.

The Brasilian San Paolo, for example.

Probably the only one. Another?

And for those of you wondering where I got that Juan Montoya quote, it was from the quotes section in the May 2001 issue of F1 magazine, back when Montoya drove for Williams BMW. The full quote is, "Soccer? I HATE soccer! 22 guys running behind a ball. I don't find it very interesting."

I have a response to that quote "F1? I HATE F1! 18 drivers trying to be the next stig in Top Gear."
