It had been a few weeks sence Blue had been adopted, or 'rescued' as he prefered from the dog fighting arena. He had made two new friends, whom needed one more member to have a team. There was four of them , couting the lead dog Spitz. But Ble often needed his alone time away from the group. He licked taking walks around the town. Suddenly he saw a dog in the distance. As she turned around..he regonized somthing about her...Her eyes. Then the realized he had seen his dog before...not long ago. In the arena.

Naira, had slept fitfully that night. Nightmares of the dog fights she had fought in, haunted her all night. The old lady who had picked her up from the side of the road was gone that day. Naira guessed she was out shopping, or visiting her friends. Naira walked over to the newly made doggy door and decided to take a short walk to stretch her sore muscles.


As she was walking, she saw something that made her gasp.
A male dog.. staring right at her.. with bright blue fur. Her memory jogged. The dog fights! A blue furred male had been looking right at her as she was dragged in! Taking a deep breath, she walked towards him.

"Oh...uh..sorry for staring, I uh.." Blue said, his legs wobbleing under him. "I think I might know you..." He stuttered. His Blue and grey fur was shinning in what bit of sun Alaska had that day. He was rushed with emotion. Fear, from memories of the dog fight, Happines, from seeing that she had been adopted and was safe, but then he thought to himself. Why would I be happy to see she was okay? I don't care for the other dogs back there. ut then he knew he had to say somthing. "Were you a fighting dog?" He asked.Then he wished he hadden't. He knew how bad he had felt about his past, and thought she would feel the same way.

Naira's ears flattened a little from the nightmare memories but she quickly straightened them, not wanting to look threatening. " Oh no, its okay, I don't mind if you ask, yes I was..a fighting dog. My owner.. threw me out and a lady found me." she said quietly. Naira sighed. " I have such horrible memories.

"And, uh, yes I think we have seen each other before, I take it, you were..a fighting dog too? SHe coughed wondering what to say next, and managed an awkward smile.
He wasn't like the other dogs at the arena, he looked different.. he looked... kind..
Naira had never known kindness, but now was her golden oppurtunity.

"Yes, I was....I hated it, I almost gave up on myself, but I heard my father got away, and was able to escape to my mother, it gave me alittle confidince, but what can you have when you kill to stay alive..."Blue sighed. "Never saw them after that." He sniffed. "Oh..but..yeah I was.. You might have heard of 'The Thunder beofre lighting' or 'The Storm' my Names...I hated being called that." He sighed.
"My real name's Electric Blue..But I go by Blue..E.B sometimes." He laughted.

Naira chuckled lightly. He's funny, kind, sensitive, what am I saying? She mentally slapped herself.

"I know what you mean, I hate killing things. My Mum didn't either, she didn't want us to suffer, but those..men beat my poor momma and..." Naira trailed off.. as the memories of her mum swarmed back. "Never mind," she said somewhat grumpily. She mentally slapped herself again, guys hate grumpy girls Naira, get a grip! wait, since when did she take an interest in guys?

"Yes, I remember you Blue, I've heard of you too and" she smiled slightly, Blue, I love that name she thought. it kind of rolls off your tongue, blue, blue, blue, she gave herself a mental kick you are so stupid sometimes Naira!
Oh, I guess I should introduce myself too!" She added quickly. "I'm called Naira, but my previous master called me dinner plate."

Blue looked confused.

Naira blushed "Because of my huge eyes." she laughed a little

"Beautiful eyes...Oh I mean! Um!" Blue accedintaly said. Oh I'm so stupid! Stupid stupid stupid! He thought to himself. "So..um...Wanna walk with me..kinda thing I do alot, I have to be alone sometimes, I mean, alone from my team!" He blushed.

did he just say I have beautiful eyes? Woah... no one has ever said that to me.. she saw him blush, Poor thing, he's really nervous..
but then so are you, a voice in her head chimed in.

Naira didn't normally take walks with people she didn't know well, but Blue was an exception and she had a feeling she could trust him.

" I know what you mean" she smiled, "and I-I'd love to." She answered. "Could you.. maybe, um... show me around town too later? I'm not very familiar with this place.."

"Oh sure, you mean your new? Anyhow, yeah I'll show you around." Blue smiled. He lead her around. "The bolier room....Meat locker...Post Office....." They talked on the 'tour' Blue lead. "I have only been here a few weeks, But I'm pretty good with knowing where everything is, I'm a wheel dog on a small team...You get to see alot around town because you go everywhere." He smiled at her.

Together Blue and Naira walked around town. Naira marveled at all there was in the town.

"Wow!" exclaimed Naira, when Blue told her about his team, "You are on a sled team? That is so cool!"

woah Naira you are happier than normal! exclaimed the little voice in her head.
usually you are so dang tough and granny cranky! it almost seemed like the voice was laughing.

ignoring the voice, Naira continued,"I wish I could be on a sled team." said Naira dreamily. "what exactly do you do on a sled team?" she asked

"Well, just run, we don't do much compition though, because Yonic and I are kinda new, so were just getting the hang of it...We only have five dogs right now, were working on Seven. Mabey you could...join if you want..." Blue smiled. "But I have a question, Your not husky mixed are you? You look a bit differnt, in a good way, your not so poofy like others." Blue said, sort of laughting to himself. "I'm mixed with Akita..saymoyed..husky...and I don't know what else my father was..." Blue exclaimed.

Niara laughed along with him, "You are definately built for running Blue! I'm probably not as good at that as you are. See, my mum told me that I was mostly pitbull and black lab, but my father was part german shepherd. I guess you could say I'm more of a guard dog." She shrugged. "So who is Yonic?" she asked curiously, "Is he a friend of yours on your team?"
Suddenly she jumped as a squirrel darted past the two of them.

"You okay? You seem a bit jumpy....I'm not threating to you am I?" Blue frowned. He could see in her eyes, she was just startled. "Not afriad of squirrls are you?" Blue said, tring to brighen the mood. "Blue! There you are, we got worried when you didn't come home at your regular time after your walk." A silver and white husky said walking up. "Luke-I" Blue started but he saw Naira on the other side, a bit shaken from his loud outburst. "Oh, sorry, um, I'm Luke, and you are...?" Luke started. "Naira." Blue said. "Her name's Naira."

Blue knew She wasn't up to meeting new hyper dogs she didn't know. Luke, alittle confused started goinng home. "Alright, well, come back home soon, okay Blue?" Luke called. "He means well." Blue said trying to make her laugh.

Naira tried to look less startled and calm her thumping heart, "N-no you aren't threatening,i-it, the squirrel just startled me." she managed an awkward laugh. " after all those years of dog fighting, experience taught me to be very cautious. You know what I mean, sneak attacks?" She tried to smooth down her rumpled fur and look normal again.
why am I worrying about how I look around him?...
She looked up as another dog called to Blue.
Must be a team mate
"Er, I'm not holding you up for something am I?" she asked Blue.

"No, I'm just usualy back home by now.....but it dosen't matter....not like were doing anything...Plus, I kinda like talking to you more...you know..rather than the same ol' guys..."Blue smiled. Luke came up to them. When he started to leave, Blue fanaly asked her a question. "Hey, wanna come see me practice? I mean ..uh, my team not just me..We only have a small team, we'll all be working hard, doubt anyone would come up to startle you...'cept Spitz, he's like realy old, and creepy, but he never talks to anyone." Blue explained.
