I have put online a very pre-pre-beta release of TaleSpin Source, which uses the new "engine" (which will be used by all Animation Source sites later)
The site is not really ready as there are things missing in the style/layout and especially there's no real content.

But this is only for making a beta-test : I have made so many changes to the site code/database that I'm not able to test everything myself.

So, I need some of you to register there and try as most things as possible, and report the bugs you encounter here. I will rank them by priority, and when all the "critical" bugs will be corrected, I will work on the site content and make a "true" release...

(will the current banned box bug be fixed before, during or after the development of that site? will there be different mods for every site?)

I haven't "found" the banned box bug, but I have made so many changes that it could have corrected by itself...

As for the mods, that depends : I am also re-making the moderation system, and it will be possible to specify a mod on one specific site or for all sites.

When clicking on "update page" in the Banned Box or any other besides the Site Box, you get redirected to the Site Box.

Edit: "Warning! Cannot create big cache" message appearing when voting on the poll.

I really Like the colors and layout. I'll test for any bug. seems I'm allways finding some sort of bug around here.

That may be the exact same bug I just corrected...Although it wasn't on that shout box.

BUG: Profile comments seem to be global at the moment (or just showing the comments on the webmaster's profile in any profile you open).


*SOLVED* (well, can't seem to reproduce that problem - maybe we thought there was a bug because of all these test messages, but there wasn't...)

BUG: Clicking on "Show your forum profile" takes you to one specific profile on AS which isn't yours (although this is probably expected; beta site after all, not connected with the forum). In my case, Dingo's profile.

And some censored words are not censored if capitalized/uncapitalized.

Perhaps removing case-sensitivity would be a good idea.

After extensive testing of the shoutbox, we have come to this conclusion: The shoutbox is insufficient; swearing filter is too weak (relies on case sensitivity), it does not stop SMS language.

Beta site shoutbox is currently PG-16...


*edit* Also, the background colour and the general colourchoice severely hurts my eyes.

That's not new and it's not a "bug"...Although there would be ways of improving this.


Well it's more that the text could be difficult to read at some places; if that's the case, tell me WHERE. (precisely) And how it could be improved...
I still think it's more or less as bright as the Balto forums style, so it should not be that much of a problem...

That's a big problem when making site styles, I had the same problem with Lion king source too (which is also why I asked for a new layout and made a contest - the current style from Vonyix is much better than the one I did)
No wonder why most sites have basic "white-grey" colors, it's much easier to make (but less pretty too...)


Yes, there's no link with the forums now (except for a basic redirection) as I don't want to mess up the BS database.
As for being the first member, well no : I will reset everything, and in fact, you won't have to register because all the sites will use the same accounts.
It's only for test currently.
