This is something that makes me angry. A cartoon runs a few years, leading through plots, then right in the middle of a big plot, the series ends. A good example of this is the popular Invader Zim cartoon. If haven't watched it, Zim was an alien, who his race considered a failure, partly due to him being short for their race and in their race, hieght determines class. To get rid of him, they sent him to a planet they believed wouldn't exist, it turned out to be Earth. Zim plots to take over the Earth but is foiled due to his own incompatence or an Earthling named Dib, the only human that knew what he was. This series was very funny and well liked, but Nickalodeon discontinued it without a proper ending, its never known if Zim succeeds or ultimently fails or if something else happens.

This angered me and I'm sure it angered others. Some series can do this without much trouble, due to a 'villian of the weak' style format but others this leads to anger and confusion among fans.

This thread is to discuss series this happened to and discuss possible routes and endings the series could of taken. All I ask is this BE RESPECTFUL!!! I think its best for everyone to be respectful of each other, it avoids flaming and unnessary bannings.

Yeah, I remember that when Invader Zim ended. Those were sad times.

I have another good example for y'all. There was an anime called Rave Master that was doing really great but all of a sudden ended like halfway through the series. Not only that but the DVD's stopped after the third one came out for some reason that makes no sense. Luckily the manga is still out there for fellow fans of the series and the 33rd book came out this month

I use to not like it actually, I was a noob that was very 'Delacate' XD Now I love it! It's really funny and better the Billy and Mandy(Hate it >_<) I didn't know it was cancelled till Now lol I really wanted to see if Dib was able to stop Zim or if Zim won....>.>

Yeah, wierd thing is, Zim was the protagonist and an evil alien invader while Dib was the villian and yet trying to save the Earth, weird. I've heard two ideas they planned for the ending, one Zim actually conquers the planet and the other in which he prevents the planet from being enslaved/destroyed, it still ends up part of the Irken empire, its just not enslaved or anything. And yet another ending has Zim dieing as a result of having the PAK attached to his back (the thing that he can extend spider-like legs from to travel), which apparently is also a life support function.

I've heard of Rave Master as well. One Peace was another show they ended prematurely (in America at least). Anime is strange, in America, it can be cancled but continue in Japan.

Anime isn't strange and it's was Origanaly made in Japan and I know why they cancelled it in America. One Piece has Ecchi secenes (Perverted secens) Just like any other Anime/Manga has, so it won't be a surprise to me if they suddenly cancel Naruto and Bleach(Two of the most popular Anime/Manga in both US and Japan, Naruto is popular in Mexico too) because of it's Ecchi Secens...

Dib and Gaz have to be the only two that are my favorite but Gir is on the top of my list lol

not only in America, here in Italy too, One Piece was ended when in Japan it continued, Naruto too, to make an example...it's very annoying

True but isn't that what editing is for? They could just edit some of the more perverted scenes out for the American dub.

Ending a series in fanfiction is rather common when the series went discontinued. Another series that at the moment is discontinued in the US is Code Lyoko, which I think properly ended in France. Can anyone confirm that? I'm asking because Balto Source is itself based in France and I'm pretty sure Code Lyoko was pretty popular there.

Rave Master is and will be one of the best anime/manga and the One Piece anime was a piece of(expletive). There's no comparison between the two. Now, that being said the One Piece manga is incredible so don't let the anime fool ya.

I don't think that code lyoko did get a real ending here but I stopped watching after a while 'cause there were better anime to watch and it got boring.

Seriously, 4kids ruins all anime. 4kids must die now before it does even more damage.

Yeah, I think you're right Dakota. Its debatable which is better, One Piece or Rave Master, due to personal preference and I'm not going to argue.

Also, turned out there is YET ANOTHER possible ending to Invader Zim where Dib leads a human invasion on the Irkan homeworld, not sure how that would've ended.

As it said in the secound sentence, Certain companies are able to do that and it's not only the Ecchi secens because Unlike the US, Japan always have Action Anime/Manga that have way too much violence like Naruto for example. Naruto has more fighting secens in Shipuuden and it's hard to cut it off when it's basically war in Naruto....And it'll mess up the Anime, of course you can't do that to a manga because that'll be Illigal...

Japan has to be the most strict country(In my point of vew but they really are strict) and letting their anime/manga be Showed/publeshed in other Contrys is rather hard to do.

Take Mexico for example: They only have DBZ, Naruto, PPGZ(Power Puff Girl Z) and a selected few(like three or four can't remember >.<)

And they Edited PPGZ that it came out messed up >.> I think they canceled it cuz I havn't seen it around.....Cuba is having the same problem(It's a problem to me XD Cuz my cousin's are missin' out the fun lol) And I bet some other countries are too. All I remember is that I never saw an official end but I also did stop watching after like the third season.

I just remembered two other series that never got a proper ending. Zoids Fuzers which was great but they ended it right on a huge cliffhanger and never finished it

And also D.I.C.E. which didn't get a proper ending and totally deserved one.

The information on edits is cool but not what the thread is about of course.

Fuzors did get an ending, I think that aired in the US. I looked it up. I'm not sure if it did in France or not (I'm assuming you're from France as you said 'here' in corralation to my question about Code Lyoko in France).
