Well in the movie they said that Simba had a daughter and in the books he had a son. In the end I think they had both and this is the tale of Kiara and Kopa, and how they grow up and try to take the crown. While Kiara and Kovu don't meet till they are all grown up and Kopa gets the crown first but he doesn't want it. But his sister does. So who will have to take it.
