Plot;

Life on Timber Ridge Ranch was like living the high life. Every animal whom called this place home was treated with great respect and attention, never before has an animal been mistreated. The most vital animal at the farm was the owner's dogs, who helped herd all kinds of livestock and kept her company. Hannah, the farmer, was a rich actress who only wished to escape the fast lane with performances and appearances scheduled by her agents, and the figured her uncle's ranch in Oklahoma would be the perfect place.

Once settled in, Hannah recieved a surprising letter from her brother's general. She was heartbroken to find out that her brother had died during a suicide bombing in a foreign country, and she was listed to take care of his war dog, Bolt. In no time Bolt was shipped to the ranch and was greeted with the welcoming arms of Hannah, yet the dogs whom already lived on the farm kept their distance. They thought Bolt would take all of the attention and praise, and with that knowledge they had little respect for him. But when Hannah suddenly disappears, Bolt is the only one who is capable of aiding the group of working dogs to find their master. With reluctant trust and reliability, the group of dogs must rely on Bolt's war experiences to help find Hannah by crossing many states, fighitng off strays, disease, starvation, and negative human interaction.

Will the dogs find Hannah in time before the dogs' journey turns into turmoil? Will the ranch dogs have enough trust in Bolt? Or will the journey be a total waste?

Name: Bolt
Age: 5 years
Gender: Male
Breed: Tamaskan Dog/German Shepherd Dog mix
Personality: Bolt is all about nobility and bravery. He may not be the strongest or smartest male in River Rush, although he's been trained to be more well-built than most dogs, but he holds many surprises. He is purebred leader material, capable of handling the pressure and stress that comes with the job. Although he may not have the brains of most leaders, Bolt is not gullible, at least barely, and takes many things very seriously which can make him get very moody and unpredictable. He has an authorative atmosphere about him which causes most others give him the respect without him asking for it, and in turn he is very kind and sincere. There are, at times -due to his horrible past- he becomes a shell of himself, consealing his kind heart and unleashing a monster that he himself has been afraid of. He tries his hardest to keep his cool around the gang, being the leader it was a must, and around the love of his life, Felicity, who passed away not too long ago. Bolt doesn't take promises lightly and most undoubtly put liars in their place, as well as backstabbers and rebels -which he is partially. Love isn't the top priority on his list, but that doens't mean he can't fall for a special girl.
Picture/Description: Click
Click
History: Bolt was born in a small Inuit village in Alaska to his mother Friska and his father Harper -his mother the Siberian Husky and his father the Northern Inuit- to a litter of five puppies (including himself). Sadly two of the puppies were still-born -it was Friska's first litter so it was predictable- and Bolt nearly was the third until his parents' owner revived him by rubbing him vigorously, releasing the water from his lungs. When he was about a year old, Bolt was sold to a man in New york, New York, whom was a member of the Army. Bolt looked forward to living an pretty strict life with a human, but when he he was sent to war with little notice, he was scared to death and his outlook upon humans and the world changed drastically. War had eventually hardened Bolt into a noble hero, terminating his fear of the world adn everythign around him. His life had changed when he met another war dog, a female named Felicity. It was love at first sight, adn the two vowed they would stay together through thick and thin, even through the current war they were in. But his dream of being a noble mate to a fine female was crushed when Felicity had died was shot and Bolt was captured with his owner as captives. For two years the two were held in a secret hidding place until the army rescused them. On the last mission of their brigade, Bolt's his owner died from being shot by a terrorist and Bolt was sent to a little ranch in Oklahoma, where he was anything but welcome. ((Recycled :D))
Extra: Wears a heavy blue leather collar with silver tags and all sorts of badges he recieved in the army.

Name: Flash
Age: 4 years
Gender: Male
Breed: German Shepherd
Personality: A combination of two parts amiable and one part plain devil. Flash is impulsive, independent, clever. He's also foolishly fearless and, admittedly, lazy and stubborn.

History:
Extra: He is a stray that will later help the pack of dogs track Hannah.

8D peccy! another wonderful Rp, im soo joining <3

Name: Syanne

Age: Roughly 3 years and 7 months

Gender: Femme

Breed: Australian 10% X Border 90%

Personality:

Not a typical every day herding dog. Having a more bipolar, split personality, she could be happy now and depressed the next instant so she's a heavy handle. Has a more bolder attitude then most, mainly because she is very strong minded but also timid. She is some one that prefers to be alone, taking her time then with a group mostly. By nature though, when she is put to round cattle, completely changes to a hard working she-dog. Patience she lacks, miserably, and once its gone, her tongue gets pretty smart, inflicting verbal abuses at the ones that asked for it. But in the overall has a gentle soul

Description:

A more slender to her bit. Has long legs that root well to her form. Strong haunches for she is a powerful runner. Her top/main coat is a mix of multiple shades of intermixed from deep rich brown that is more apparent along her upper eyelids to a golden bronze sheen that glides along her spine.. Her eyes are a stunning shade of auburn/amber honey. Her chest buffs to a light brown then to white along her lean legs, and under belly, including the tip of her long bushy tail.

History:This she prefers to keep classified, hence her attitude, but it was not a bad one actually, but in slow bits she will reveal throughout the story

Extra: Is one of the few (if not only) dogs that has deep and mutual respect towards Bolt

Since you specified to not have any Balto characters in this, it's better suited to the Other RP section.

Gender: Female
Name: Tess

Age: 2 1/2 years old

Gender: Female

Breed: 100% Border Collie.

Personality:
Tess is a very gentle border collie. Though, that's just what she try's to act like. She's truly a rebel and rejct at heart, not many others liking her. She had a best friend, who was a german shepherd, named Misty, but after she rejected her, she soon became a trouble-maker. Stealing from humans, no matter what the consquences. She does try to get out of many situations by throwinf amazing excuses, most of the time over doing it with her lies. She does feel like she is doing something wrong, and feel like nobody wants her in the world. Though she is hard-working, and eager to learn, she does feel unwanted.

Discreption:
Tess is a slender young border collie. Her long legs match to her body well, and has soft black and white fur. She has flopped over ears, that stay close to the side of her head. She has a white tip on her long furry tail, small white 'socks' on her back paws, and all white front legs. She has a white chest, and a 'ring' of white fur that is on her neck. The top of her muzzle is white, forming a stripe that goes up to her forhead, and ends twords the ring, stopping there and belnding with it. The rest if black fur, that covers the rest of the spots that werent menchened.

History:
She would rather keep this amazing story to herself, but she will be willing to tell her adventure of a lifetime to someone who she would trust dearly, someone who know would savior the story forever.

Extra:
She does see something speciel towards Bolt, feeling speciel about him. She knows she should doubt herself and lose the thought, but sh ejust can't help thinking about him.

Name:Arrow
Age:Around 3 and a half
Gender:Male
Breed:Collie alsation cross
Personality:Friendly and funloving.Arrow is always on the job and put that befoe anything. He can be short tempered. He dislike many of the others for basicly as he says being trouble makers. Then he wonders why he hasnt got many friends. He acctually respects Bolt for his authority but loses this as soon as Bolt tells him off for lying (which he often does to get his own way).
Picture/Description:Image
History:From an accidental litter between a herding collie and a stray german sheperd he was taken to river rush for training but when his owner didnt want him he stayed.
Extra: He has a little bit of instinct in him from the fact his father was a stray but this lies dormant until they have to find Hannah.

I am definitely joining this :P

Name: Theron
Age: 3 and a half
Gender: Male
Breed: Australian Shepherd (Luvvies them)
Personality: Usually quite warm towards other dogs, but Bolt he makes an exception for, he can be a great friend and is very hardworking, he can get frustrated at times if he is caught in a tricky situation. He would probably fade into the background if two dogs were fighting or even just arguing, but if someone challenged him he wouldn't back down, and would keep trying until he either succeeded or found no possible way of succeeding. He would never turn on anyone he knew, and if he makes a promise he keeps it, but with strangers he is very uptight and can be very snappy.
Picture/Description: http://www.spotlightaussies.com/images/pix/pic_01.jpg
History: He was born on the farm and his mother had worked on A farm, but not this one, that is all he tells people, but more will be revealed
Extra: He has a bit of a liking for a certain female, but not saying who

Name: Illani
Age: 4
Gender: Female
Breed:Dalmation
Personality: Very quite and keeps herself to herself, she likes being alone but if she feels she needs to she will attach herself to a group or individual. She can be very sweet if you get to know her but other dogs would say that she hangs around like a cloud, and she doesn't make friends easily because of her jumpy nature. She hardly ever gets angry but if she does then she doesn't like to hold grudges, and feels awful if someone hates her.
Picture/Description: http://farm1.static.flickr.com/125/3217 ... bb.jpg?v=0
History: She doesn't want to say right now
Extra: She is a stray, in the rules it said she would come in later so I don't mind

Wow, thanks guys for joining. :D I'm glad to see members like the plot, I thought it was pretty cruddy the way I typed it all out (but I guess everything sounds better in one's mind XD), but anyhoo, I hope to keep this roleplay active and interesting.

And with that said, let's begin! :]

- - - - - - - - - -

The sun slowly set over the horizon on a late Thursday evening. The temperature was a steady 70 degrees and would more than likely rise to about 90 in the afternoon. Long grasses swayed with the gentle nightly wind, ready to be cut and rolled into bales of hay when the sun was high in the sky. But the chorse would have to wait until the worker was ready.

The young actress, known only by her first name, Hannah, was putting all of her dogs to bed before she too would crawl into bed. With each dog entering the dogs room, she would stroke their head and neck before placing a gentle kiss upon their forehead. One dog, however, had a duty to behold. Bolt, the army dog, was given to her by her cousnin's general after his death. With all the dog had esperienced throughout his life, he was the perfect candidate to roam about the house at night, keeping a sharp lookout for any peculiar activity that lingered in the shadows at night. Timber Ridge was known for a rapid loss of livestock over the thirty-some-odd years it was in use, and with an actress attenting to the ranch made no exception. Danger could be lurking around every corner.

After closing and locking the door to the dogs' room, Hannah knelt down to face Bolt before nervously stroking his strong neck. His eyes were so intent that she felt as if he could peer right iner her soul, wich caused her to be uneasy. With all the things bolt had seen and experienced, Hannah could only imagine what the dog must have been feeling being left to a small ranch in Oklahoma, with no essential duty to fullfill, no one to give him orders to follow. The young woman felt slightly sympathetic to Bolt, but she reasured herself he would make it through an easy life; he's survived war, hadn't he? With a light kiss on the dog's forehead, Hannah rose and walked towards her room before looking back at him.

"Sleep tight, Bolt. And...thank you." She whispered before disappearing behind her closing door.

Bolt only sat in the same spot after he was left alone and looked around at his surroundings. This was his first day at the ranch, and everything looked so...weird. Where were all the guns? And amunition? What about maps of their enemies locations or the high tech computers to locate the enemies? Bolt was disgusted at the house's sophisocated atmosphere, but he figured he'd just deal with it since he was to be stationed here for a while. He didn't know his owner, his war partner was dead, no one had informed him of this tragedy and so he believed his real owner would come looking for him after he recovered from a gunshot to the chest, which was fatal.

'Guess I'd better take my station at the front window.' Bolt suggested to himself before padding silently over towards the front door and sitting behind the window that was placed next to the front door. Unforgiving icy-blue optics scanned through the clear barrier looking for anything out of the ordinary, but all seemed fine. For a good half hour he intently looked out through the window, sitting proudly as he knew what he was doing. Over time he began to tire, although he knew it was never too late for mischief to arise, but he decided a little shut eye wouldn't hurt. From where he sat, Bolt slid down and curled up on the carpet behind the front door before falling into a light sleep, his ears pricked as a precaution.

It was about midnight before something outside caused Bolt to stir in his sleep. Something had caused a loud bang on the front porch, and Bolt acted on impulse; he darted towards the back door, where he easily slid through the doggy-door before rounding the house towards the front porch. His face was wrinkled with a menacing snarl, but it quickly smoothed as Bolt felt a sheering pain on the left side of his head. He was flung backwards before landing with a thud on the hard earth before being bombarded with hands and threatening sneers. Two men held the war dog to the ground, trying to muzzle him up before he woke their target. When one of the men reached for his muzzle, the dog snapped and bit his palm, causing it to start bleeding perfusely. The man yowled in pain and was pushed aside as a third man towered over Bolt and thrust his foot on Bolt's head. The dog whinced at the harsh blow, but growled in frustration as he knew he wouldn't be able to escape this time. When the man whom sat on the dog's hindquarters moved the third man's foot from his head, Bolt began to bark furiously, trying to wake Hannah and the other dogs. If he couldn't escape, he would sacrifice himself to save them, innocent lives.

The third man began cursing at the white dog, and quickly grew angered. Not wanting to waste any more time on a mangey mutt, he swung a crow bar at bolt, sending the dog tumbling a few feet before stopping. When he knew the dog wouldn't move until a good amount of time, precious time, the gang of men slunk towards the front door. The man whom had hit Bolt with the crow-bar no used it to knock the door off its hinges, and cautiously stormed into the house with five other men, one of which was a victim to Bolt's fangs. With little time to spare, the men stormed every room on the first and second floor, all except the dgos' room and Hannah's room. They easily evaded the dogs' room, as the door had a sign that read 'Dog Room', and came up to the last room down a short hall not far away from the living room. The men began to explain their plans before they would barg into Hannah's room, but what they didn't know, nor did Hannah know, that the door to the dogs' room hadn't been shut all the way...

Tess had her white front paws on a window ledge, overlooking the country where she roamed. She then heard Hannah come into the room, telling the dogs to go to bed. She quickly ran into a small plaid doggie bed, which she had claimed as 'hers.' She lets Hannah pet her gently on the head. But soon, her beloved human had slipped out of the room, keeping the door open a bit; though she didnt know it.

Tess layed contently in the small red colored plaid doggie-bed in the dog's room, where she lay tiredly. Both of her brown eyes were sealed shut as she dreamed about the things that were happy to her. Hannah, the other dogs... and many more she soon lost track of as her dreams spun around, creating a wonderul world of imiganation. Her white colored legs started to twitch in her sleep,as than suddenly, everything dissappered in her wonderful dream, and was awokened by a large gun shot sound which echoed threw her mind. She soon lost track of the encounters in her mind, and quickly slipped out her room's door.

Tess's white paws padded threw the hall ways of the ranch, taking one step at a time as she went. She tried to stay as silent as a mouse, but of course as she caught sight of the men, she couldnt help but do a small growl. The rumbling sound went threw her throat, before it came out as a large bark. She than skitted past the men, and soon found Luke trying to confort Bolt, the new dog who had arrived. Bolt had been strangely watching out for danger that ngiht from what Tess saw. But she threw thoese thoughts behind her and looked down at the motionless Bolt.

Tess looked franticly at the two male dogs, feeling as she was suspost to be given a commandment to do. Her heart pounded as fast as lightning, as her eras listened carefully for any more unexpected happening on the normally quiet old ranch. She soon started to space out into the darkness, thinking about what was happening. What's going on? Who are these people? What do they want? Thoese questions repeated many times, racing around in circles in her mind. Thoese thoughts became her enemy's, laughing at her confusion. She took a deep breath, and looked back to the two for guidence.

She longed for an awnser, though the air remained silent in the fearful air as she though about the things that she could do, but all she felt as she could do now was wait. Wait for a time for a notice. A notice to do something that she know tht she must. But she waited. What she iddnt know, is if they waited to long, it might be to late.

A sharp snarl brought her to her feet quickly. Light cream paws froze as the light beam from their flashlight slowly prodded through the slit of the door as the men walked onward silently, the floor boards creaked under their heavy boots. She suddenly leaned downward, glancing about as she watched Luke rush outside soon followed by Tess. She inched forward, her brown nose quivered silently as she watched. Talons slowly tapped to the wooden boards as she waited, ears pushed back against her skull, tail lowered and still between her tight back legs, flicking every so often.

Her brain sent a rush of adrenaline to her veins as she took a chance, seeing the men at first turned, their attention fully back on the black/white collie. her fangs clenched tightly as she took a bolt forward. Her claws scurrying against the floor as she skidded against the wall, her slender frame brushed against the leg of one of them as she narrowly missed a blow to her cranium. She glanced back before prolonging sharp, loud barks, as she reared up, scratching at Hanna's door, her claws making a good enough racket. "Comon Hannah" She growled softly, barking non-stop.
