I thought that H.G.Wells deserved his own thread because in my personal opinion he is the greatest Science Fiction Writer ever and is my personal favorite author of all time. Why I think he’s the best is because his science fiction books were written before man even landed on the moon, before the thought of ever going into space and what lay beyond out atmosphere was ever really studied. The way he writes is unlike any other author I’ve ever seen he had such a way with words that makes what he’s writing so believable and with so much passion and in depth characters that it feels as though you’re in the book simply watching what’s happening rather than reading it. He provokes emotions simply by the written word lets us experience exactly what the characters feeling, thinking and experiencing. He gives all stories and in-depth look into what it means to be human, who we are and what we are and where we are going. Oh whoops sorry I’m waffling a little but I guess Its obvious how I idolize this author and in my own writings want to try and be as good as he is.

Here are some of his books,
War Of The Worlds ---> My personal favourite
The Invisible Man
The Time Machine ---> My 2nd favourite
In the Days of the Comet
The War in the Air
The Shape of Things to Come

If you have read any of his books feel free to post below

Also due to recent events please consider this a fan thread only, thank you.

Unfortunately, I haven't read much of his work; however I do know that Simon Wells (the director of Balto) is his great-grandson. Just though you'd like to know.

H.G Welles really changed the way I look at Science Fiction, seeing as he was one of the first to write about it in his time, that's why I think his work is amazing.

I'm glad to see someone else who has read and enjoyed his stuff. It's a shame that not many people know who he is so I'm really glad that some people here have read his stuff and enjoyed it just as much as me  I've never read The Island of Dr. Moreau, whats it about? Is it good (I'm assuming it is  )
