For years dragons have lived peacefully, scaring away any stupid age old humans that decided to see a dragon up close, and had no real enemies.
But that changed when a sudden earthquake split the earth near a pack of dragons, and unleashed a deadly parasite. The pack was struck badly, with many falling prey to it within the first few months, but the elders of the pack have come up with a plan.
They have heard tell of a certain plant hidden deep within the Fearan Caves, a huge maze of caverns that are very easy to get lost in. The Earth's Heart.
A few dragons are chosen to go and retrieve the plant so that the infected can be cured and the parasite killed for good, but the way there is long and dangerous, and the dragons will need all their strength to make it.

The parasite affects dragons by making them have a slight fever, and then a bloodthirst which will make them want to bite any other living thing, which passes on the parasite. After they have been infected for about 2 weeks they go into a paralytic kind of shock, and from there only survive a further 3 weeks, which means they only live 6 weeks from when they first get bitten.

I will start, I have a great intro post Oh and Reyen is the elder and Aquaris won't be coming in until later, are there any details about your characters

The smell of death, it was thick within the cavern, and from the dark depths you could hear the suffering groans of the infected. It made her sick, the smell didn't help, but the knowledge that her friends were in that cave, dying slowly and alone, no family to comfort them, they had been turned into vicious cold predators. And all because of that parasite.
There was movement beside her, the old medic dragon crept out from her shelter and sat next to Huntress.
'It is horrible isn't it, I have done all I can, but Reyen is going to make an announcement soon about what to do' she said, her old grey scarred muzzle wet with tears and sweat. Huntress nodded in reply, this was hard for the whole pack, everyone they knew and loved was either dead or dying, and no one could stop this thing. The sun came out from behind a cloud, reflecting off of Huntress' dappled brown and green scales.

ooc: Glaedr is Ember`s big brother.

Glaedr stared at the dying dragons. "This is horrible, I want to see dad, yet he won`t let anyone near him." Muttered Glaedr, he looked at his little sister, Ember, all of the happiness had gone from her. "Cmon Ember, lets go outside." He said as he picked her up and put her on his large back, he then walked outside the cave, looking up at the grey sky.

"What`s gonna happen to daddy?" Asked Ember worriedly.

"I-I`ll tell you later, trust me, you don`t wanna know the truth right now...But how I wish I could help him, I`d do anything, I`d go anywhere." Replied Glaedr.

ooc: I`ll add on another charrie, Bron. Bron is their dad and he is infected by the parasite, and their mom has died. Glaedr is 27 and he is almost 28, Ember is 5.

(Well I wouldn't add an infected dragon charrie, they will be leaving soon anyway but if you want to make him that's fine, and do you want to do mini bio with ages and stuff, not personalities or histories or anything.

A loud roar came from the large flat stone that was used when someone needed to make an announcement. Reyen watched as dragons gathered slowly, fear in their eyes and anger, anger that nothing was being done. Reyen knew how they felt, he felt the same way, but that was about to change. 'Pack, we have suffered for so long because of this parasite' he started, he was an old dragon but his voice was still powerful and full of authority. There were murmurs or agreement from the crowd in front of him. 'Our medic has finally found the cure to this parasite, but we need young strong dragons to fetch it, it is the Earth's Heart, that can only be found in the Fearan Caves' he continued, and listened to the shocked whispers, no one ever came out from the Fearan Caves. 'So, who will go to fetch this plant to save the pack.'
Huntress watched angrily as most of the pack bowed their heads and stepped back, no one volunteered. 'I will' she roared, making the younger dragons around her jump. 'I will go to the Fearan Caves and retrieve the Earth's Heart, because it is the only way to save the pack, are there any cowards out there who would be willing to help save their families, are there any of you who would dare say that they would travel with me' she roared again, glaring at every male close to her. She was the renowned hunter in the pack, beating almost all the males that challenged her to a fight, but she had her fiery temper which made her dangerous.

"Huh? Retrieve a cure?" Muttered Glaedr, he stared at the ground then stepped up next to her. "I`ll go with her." He said.

"I wanna come with you big bro." Said Ember jumping onto her brother`s back.

"Fine, but stay outta trouble, and don`t slow us down." Replied Glaedr.

Huntress turned her head quickly and glared at Glaedr, challenging him, she couldn't help it, it was in her nature. 'I do not think it would be wise to bring the young one' she muttered bitterly, staring at Glaedr, trying to make him scared and back down. She glanced at Reyen to see his answer.
Reyen looked Glaedr up and down, he seemed strong, but his little sister might be a problem. He shut his eyes and mulled over the problem, and then finally opened his eyes. 'These three dragons shall go to the Fearan Caves, no more, if none return, then we may have to leave this place and seek the help of other dragon packs' he said slowly, so that everyone heard and understood. Once again there was muttering, but it quickly fell silent and Reyen added 'you may leave now, you three, and good luck to you all, the fate of the pack rests on your decisions.'

'And where do you think you are going' Huntress said sharply, running after Glaedr. She hated having to follow stupid males that had no sense of direction, she liked to be the leader.
She had been playing with a pile of stones, the hunting group was just about to leave and they said a few of the chicks could come along. She had jumped at the chance and scampered after them. A few other chicks were there, but only male, and then came what she had expected. 'Oooh look at the little girly trying to be a grown up, go home and play with your girly friends and leave the hunting to the males' one said, and horrible sneer on his face. His friends laughed, and another piped up 'females can't hunt, they can't even fight, you wouldn't be able to beat us.' Huntress growled, her pupils narrowed to hair line slits in anger. But she knew it was true, she couldn't beat them now, they were too strong. But maybe if she trained herself secretly to be strong, then maybe she would show them.
That had been the start of her self training, because of a few insults. But now she could rip them apart with a few swift blows. And the thing was, she had, after several months of intensive training she had met the same chicks in the forest, and before they could open their mouths to gloat she had cut two of their throats. The rest had tried to run but she had killed them too. The anger, the rage, and the power she felt was...amazing, and addictive. The killings had been blamed on a local wolf pack, which had been slaughtered, and no one ever found out.

(Just a little bit of history for Huntress, yeh she is a bit evil but hey)

"I`m going north, we can make it to the waterfall by nightfall and make camp there." Replied Glaedr, continuing to walk.

'And why should we go to the waterfall, we need to get into the forest, then we can climb up the mountains, it is the quickest way' Huntress said, her voice dripping with venom and hatred. Stupid male, why did he have to come along, it would be easier if it was just me she thought bitterly, glaring at Glaedr.
