I was thinking about all those topics that people start flame wars on and fight for weeks before dying down on their own, and Mods don't see them because nobody reports it, just watches, but some people out there will report to mods, so I thought that mabey there could be a button that has a flame on it, and when you click it, a symbol comes up that repersents that a flame war i there, the problum with this thought, two people might dissagree and click the button when there is no war or a glitch pops up that makes all the topics have the symbol but other than that, I think it could work.

I don't think this would be possible, as Steet didn't code the forum. It would just be a waste of space and people would probly get confused. Just report the topic.

Wouldn't want to see this implemented. Half the people on this forum don't even know what a "flame war" is. They think a disagreement that is publicly voiced is a flame, or signals the beginning of a flame war. It'll end up wasting the moderators' time, I imagine they are already fed up with this kind of misunderstanding.

Mighty and Ghost-Unit have a point. This wouldn't be a very good idea, mostly because most members will have a misunderstanding and click on the button over just a disagreement. That would have the mods going insane. P:

I see no point in this feature, at all.

1) We have a report system, and when a topic gets reported, not only does it come up on the report list in the forum Mod Panel, it also likes to come up in red, like this:
Quote:
on the post, and a beautiful little warning sign next to the topic title, warning mods.

2) Steet cant code the forum (Well, he can - But phpBB is not a type of forum you code, something like SMF, vBulletin or MyBB are forums you can code. Even if steet could code the forum, when they upgrade it to 3.0.5+, it would ruin the forum altogether, there would be no point in coding the forum.

3) There is an option on the report system, if you think someone is flaming, it's much easier just to use the following option:
Quote:
'Violent message' >> The message is offensive"
, and USE the extra information field to give a brief summary of the situation.

4)

Not much I can add on what's already been said.
