Post here about your road trips!

Heres mine about Crooked River [My family goes on lots of road trips ^^"]

---CROOKED RIVER-----

1. The Elk Ranch- Not very interesting, just a bunch o' elk XD

2. The Abandoned Mine across the river- This mine seems to have collapsed but is unreachable since its across a fairly large, fast river. Fishemermen tell us it collapsed 4 years ago.
Seeing an abandoned mine was one of my goals in life.
I say its small and could've been a lumber camp...

3. The Dikolike Mine- We went up there and half the side of the structure was torn away. They were gonna destroy it due to bad oxygen. Its WAY bigger then the other one.

4. The first Homestead- After eating we went to the first homestead. Theres a rock wall bordering it and you can see peices of rusty car parts, a bunch of logs from a cabin, a chicken wire pen and rock cellar.

5. Second Homestead- This one is only a tiny celler for holding water. You can see Pepsi cans through the holes through the roof.

6. Deer EVERYWHERE!- Oh hell was there deer! XDD

Thats it. You shoulda been there!

Cool! I've been to the San Diego Sea World and got soaked XD

I've also been to San Diego LegoLand [The best] In which my uncles GPS called it Lee-go-lond XDD, The SanDiego Wild Animal Safari, The San Diego zoo, Belmont Park [ALSO the best, in which I got to ride the Giant Dipper an old wooden rollercoaster and yes I DO have a need for speed] + SeaWorld.... All in a week ^^"

But that wasn't a road trip so I shouldn't have rambled about it.

I spend much of my work/school vacations away from home, and on the road instead. I have put so many miles on my vehicles that I generally change my oil after 5,000 miles every 60 days or so.

1. Multiple trips to Pittsburgh, PA for Anthrocon. Nothing really exciting happens on these other than the $18.00 you pay in toll roads...

2. Multiple trips to Wheeling, IL for Midwest FurFest. I remember last year it was sunny all the way down until I-94 to Indiana where it was a deathtrap driving through a gigantic blizzard, but somehow that little car I drove managed to remain on the road traveling 60mph.

3. Several road trips to Northern Michigan and Canada (Ontario) for DX-peditions (HAM radio contest for much of the EN grids)

4. A few family trips to Cedar Point in Ohio. Though I wasn't driving since I was 7, 9, 12, and 14 at these times.

Never went on a family road trip, but I take about 4 a year. So since I've been everywhere, I'll post last years RTs.

1. Drove the entire (And original) Route 66. For the road that used to be "America's Highway", they sure let it go to junk. Half of the road in IL is driving through cornfeilds. Out west it was awesome.

2. Yellowstone National Park. Awesome place to go to. Actually, Wyoming in general is a cool place to go to. Provided you're like me and hate big cities. (Grew up between Milwaukee and Chicago).

3. Myrtle Beach South Carolina. I didn't really want to go here, but my girlfriend did, and I wanted to go on a road trip, so we went.

4. Boston Mass. I just happened to be there in time to watch my Celtics defeat the Lakers in the NBA Championship (I didn't plan it at all...hahahaha, I totally did). Cool city, but I'd never want to live there.

5. Juneau Alaska. Never really intended on going to Alaska. I planned on visiting a friend of mine in South Dakota, then next thing we know, we're on our way to Alaska. Driving through Canada was messed up. Got a speeding ticket because I forgot in some places speed is measured in Kilometers per hour rather than miles per hour like I'm used to. I saw 80 and I was like, OK!

Don't know where I'll go this year. If I go anywhere. Maybe Toronto then maybe the grand canyon or something. Maybe Las Vegas now that I'm 21 and can actually enjoy LV.

1. Drove down to Florida. I didn't mind the way down, cause I turnded the backseat into a bed. I put blankets and I had a very old portible TV from the 70's. Then my aunt bought it from me D= It was horrid on the way back cause we got in a car accident and the trunk wouldn't open so I was surrounded by all of our junk.

2. Road trip to cleveland to see Balto. wasn't so bad cause I tagged my friend along.

3.Great wolf lodge: Bleh, I slep.

4. Porcupine mountains. Like we got lost out on the open road. Oo I hated that trip.

5. Mackinaw island. Not the best trip... I fell off a bike and got lost on the island ALONE. My parents didn't see me fall.

The first one, I can remember, was a trip my family took, down the West Coast, to Mexico, then came up through Arizona, Nevada, Utah, Idaho, etc, that area.

In 1999 or 2000, my Mom and I drove from Seattle to Chelmsford, Ma

Then recently, after getting my new car, I've done a number of trips around the state....Leavenworth, Bellingham, Portland, Ellensburg...nothing real exciting, but great scenery!

Not sure if this counts but last year our year 7 camp to Brisbane... pwned.

DAY 1: We was in the bus for a loooooong time. We stopped for lunch in Gympie (I was starving- we drove past McDonald's, KFC and Pizza Hut) and then we didn't stop until we got to Mooloolaba. Then we went to Underwater World, it was pretty cool. We saw a seal show and the oh-so-adorable sea otters! They were soooo cute! Then we had dinner and went to Brisbane were we saw where we were staying and unpacked our stuff.

DAY 2: We went to Suncorp Stadium, Queensland Museum, the Police Museum, Southbank (for lunch) and then I think we went to where we were staying. Then we went ice skating. I was terrible. It was epic.

DAY 3: We went to Sciencentre (it was actually pretty cool) and then to Parliament House (that was boring) and then to Southbank and went swimming (it was so fun!).

DAY 4: We were at Dreamworld the whole day. We got awesome photos of tigers, we went shopping and of course went on some awesome rides. It so owned. It was the best, sooo fun!

DAY 5: We went home. We got to go to a reptile park in Childers. And hold a snake, and the ever-so-cute baby crocodile! My throat was so sore. Me and my friend made up songs and played Mr Squiggle. I was glad to go home, but it was such a fun (and exhausting week!)

Possibly the best week of my life.
