There have been a few topics sort of the same as this, but anywho.

I totally agree! I only actually visit contests that are made by people that don't have 50 other topics going already. It proves to me that they actually will draw/write about/render/whatever the couple.

I mean- GAWD. Not every character has to have a mate! Especially not the instant you create them! I bet you know a lot of people who are single, don't you? I bet you know a lot of dogs in REAL life that don't have mates! I bet you know a lot of CARTOON dogs that don't have mates!

I have nothing against having a mate for your character, but SERIOUSLY. Not all seventy million of them! And guess what? If Jack needs a mate, and Jill needs a mate, instead of creating a contest for both of them, why not consider the possibility that your character's mate CAN belong to YOU!

The majority of my character's mates belong to me (Loki and Natasha, Spectral and Wendigo) and some of my characters don't even have mates (Dean, King, and Changeling to name a few.) But yeah, if you're going to make a mate topic, keep it to one.

I'm getting sick of the mate contests altogether.
Why can no one seem to make one up themselves?
Seriously, it takes about 10 minutes tops to find a lineart you like and colour it in a new design for your character's mate.

Not to mention the fact, not every character needs a mate. I see a lot of ones for wolves and I can only think that every wolf in that person's "pack" of characters has a mate - which is wrong. Only Alpha's are mates. The rest don't get that privilege.

Use your head people. If there's 10+ mate contests already - it's highly likely yours will be ignored.
If you've already got one running - no need to make another.

the contest section (and the one in the site too) is full of "A mate for my OC" and most of them are made by the same person...I made only two contest like these, my first one was for my char Knosso and my second for my GS Arank but since I didn't like the entries I abandoned it...plus the owners of these topic become mad because no one enter their contest (like if it's our fault) and continue to BUMP the topic (some topics have more BUMPed posts than other)

Ah, I posted a rant about "People having too many active contents and them not dealing bla bla bla"
Yeah, this is anoyying, all those "Mate " Ones, let's say you win Bla's mate Contest. Yet, you get board with the site bla bla bla and you leave.
Well that contest had no meaning.
Those mate contests hardly have any prize, besides getting a mate, but that prize can fade away, as stated in part of my post here.
It's a waste of space to me. Make your own character a mate, or ask somebody who needs their character a mate.
