No, this is not a contest or to see how many people think Kiona's the best character in the world xD

I'm simply curious to know who your favorite original character or characters are and WHY.

I think this'll be a good chance for the not-so-popular characters have some spotlight. Because I've seen a great number of under-rated OC's who deserve some attention, simply because they're interesting, but people don't pay attention to them because "their design is boring" or "they're not a hybrid of a million and a half breeds".

But I'll set up some guidelines:

1) Pick someone else's character or characters
2) Link to their Fan Character page (if they don't have one, link to a Fan Image or Fan Art of them)
3) Tell us why you like them! Is it their personality? Their story? Or maybe it is just their design you like.



-The character CAN be popular, but if you're going to pick a popular one, you MUST also pick one not as popular.
-They can all be from the same creator
-TELL US WHY YOU LIKE THEM IN DETAIL. DON'T JUST PUT "CUZ THERE CUTE" OR WHATEVER.

These are some of MY personal favorites. Now, only SOME. I like alot of characters but I can't list them all and I don't expect you to either. I may even add more xD

Why I like them: C'mon, how many GOOSE characters do you see on this site? All of them are canines of some kind, but you never see any appreciation for the other animals featured in the Balto films, like the geese or the wolverines or the bears. I dunno much about the character himself, but he certainly looks goofy. xD

Character: Blaez

Why I like them: This, I think, is the most convincing version of the random brown and white wolf in WQ. I liked the conflict he had to go through and it made me wish WQ had deeper characters. I like that Kaynight didn't even have to change much of his design either. Blaez was very popular at the time, but I don't really see people giving him credit anymore.

Why I like them: She's such an adorable character... when writing BHS I try to give her as much interaction as possible, but it doesn't always work out. She may seem like your typical sweet-heart character, but how many of those do you know dedicate themselves to their brother over their love interest? Not many at all. Anyone would want a sister like her, hahaha.

Why I like them: For the first fan daughter of Steele and Anna, you'd think people would be all over her, hahaha. She's not like either of her parents at all. And she beat up on Iron! MY Iron! And if you know him, you'd find that funny. She's the only girl and the only sibling who felt that she never lived up to her father's standards. Yeah, so her father's Steele, a brute, he was still her dad, and she never got the father/daughter relationship like Aleu and Balto had. And not many daughters do. I think she's very relatable to alot of people.

Why I like them: Yeah, I'm kind of cheating on this one since I designed him, but she really did make him an interesting character when she adopted him. No one ever loves the tubby guys, and that's emphasized in Theo's life, a role-reversed Beauty and the Beast story. He likes Lexi, but she's completely terrified of him. At first anyway. Just goes to show that even a big fat guard dog can be just as good as a Kodi in shining armor xD

Brilliant idea, Cat! Here I'll post my four favourites, two of them are pretty unknown and the other two quite popular.

Why I like them: Kyser is just an insanely awesome character. He has an interesting history, and by that I mean that it's unique but BELIEVABLE, not like "so and so's a wolf dog and her parents got killed by a bear and she was raised by wolves" (although there are some characters with histories like that that are actually pretty cool). But the one thing that makes him such a cool character is his personality, very unique with good points as well as bad points. And who can resist that cute little pacman tag?

Why I like them: Not exactly sure what attracts me to him so much, but his design and personality are awesome! I love the fact that he's a 'gang' leader, lol. He's just really cool!

Why I like them: To start off, the fact that she's part Harrier is awesome. Secondly, the fact that she grew up around more 'challenged' siblings and that her parents had no time for her, is cutely sad. Next, her randomness and ability to stick up for herself and what she believes, even in front of JT and his other girls, is stunnin'. Lol. A gorgeous character, and one I can relate to a LOT. Also, did I forget to mention her randomness? That's cool too.

Why I like them: Saimar is probably my favourite of Saba and Iron's second litter- he's a handsome character for sure, and definitely a likeable character. Not much else to say about him, but you'll know if you see him for yourself.

Why I like them: Ty is a really cool character and not just because of his cool design and the awesome rendering skills of lunawolf! I love the fact that he's an army dog, it's the first time I've seen a fan-character with that occupation. He has a great personality and his likes and dislikes are totally him!

Why I like them: I like Winter mostly because he's so sweet, and also because he's a little bit fluffly like Nikki. lol He makes a nice contrast to BJ's Summer, personality- and looks-wise. I must say, he and Sadie make an interesting couple, and the fact that they have adopted children, I think, is pretty awesome. >D

Alright, one that's a bit less popular is in order...

Why I like them: Well, Tovah was one of the first original Balto characters I ever came across, and , well...I guess I liked that she's like Aleu (somewhat) in looks, and yet retains her own style and personality. Her markings are very cool...not simple, yet not too complex either. She's just overall a very well-thought-out, well-balanced character.

Guys, this is for UNDER-RATED characters xD Meaning they're not very appreciated even tho they're good characters.

Why I like them:
I think it's his design. I adore those face markings and Draco's style of drawing him large and powerful looking makes him look even more impressive.

Well, in my opinion, Winter IS pretty under-appreciated XD Just because his brother is very popular doesn't automatically make him popular as well. He deserves more attention than he gets.

Why I like them: Wapasha, despite the fact all of her siblings were killed, was brave. She seemed very calm on prepared, despite her young age. I like her, and I wish that there was more known about her.

Why I like them: Ever since Kodi created this character I loved him. At the time his design used to be very original as he basically was a mixture of Balto and Kodi's design. That was the reason he was named Kolton. He was the first Kolton out there XD I don't think he gets as much praise as he actually deserves.

Why I like them: I think she was mentioned above, but I gotta mention her too. She's so unlike Aleu although she looks a lot like wolf too. She doesn't see it as a disadvantage, rather it proves very useful when she meets Sitka the wolf who later becomes her mate. She's very small yet she can cope, and unlike Aleu, she doesn't complain about being a hybrid. She's complete opposite of what Aleu represents.

Why I like them: Very much under appreciated. One of the first original versions of the red-faced pup I've seen. When others were making the red-faced pup a female, this one was made a boy X3 He's been around for a long time now.

Why I like them: I've always liked Gus. Unlike other versions of this pup, he was dark-haired, with darker ears like Balto, and had this specific split mark on his head that made him stand out amongst all other Dingo's. With this timid personality of his he was a reddish version of Balto.

Why I like them: He is not related to Balto, (unlike a lot of original characters) He is related to Charlie and Sasha, and not many people have chars like that ;D
