I've been away from Balto Source and such for a while, but as I browsing Amazon.com recently, I noticed that all three Balto DVDs have stated "This item has been discontinued by the manufacturer." I can only help but wonder "why?" and can only assume that all three movies are apparently not selling. But are they only discontinued on Amazon, or everywhere else too? Will the Special Edition petition still have a chance? http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_ss_d?url=search-alias%3Ddvd&field-keywords=balto&x=0&y=0

Oh my... that is bad news. :/
I do hope that it IS just Amazon but here in the UK I've not seen any Balto DVD's in any stores here for a long time.

Even if that is so, you could always try ebay, or as Togo said, look in your local stores.

This is horrible news for Balto. In this rate, I don't think the petition will make it. Hate to say...

Maybe we should try something different. If we can't get DVD's, then what if we tried to get them to make it available as a digital download. In fact, a little while ago I made a topic about the idea of having the movie on the iTunes store and people seemed to like it. Here's a link: http://baltosource.timduru.org/board/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=25605I know a digital download only gets you the movie and not any bonus features, but it seems like Universal doesn't want to do anything with the movie, and we are running out of options. The only option that hasn't been extensively explored yet is the digital download option and I think we should at least give that a try. I think that at this point, we are more likely to convince them to put it up as a purchasable file than to have them manufacture a whole new set of DVD's.

Togo wrote: The problem is that I doubt we can change the petition right now in order to include DD in it, we would have to make another one, which is obviously impossible. Too bad, right now the digital delivery could be the right idea (even if I still don't like iTunes XD). We might not have to involve the petition at all. Apple takes requests for content to be added to the store. You can make a request here: http://www.apple.com/feedback/itunes.htmlMaybe if enough people request it for the iTunes store, they would put it up. There's no harm in trying.
