*update 2*: In preparation of the website and forum changes, all topics are now being LOCKED. We apologize for the inconvenience, but we REALLY need to save diskspace.

Update: To give you enough time to back everything you want to keep from this website (forum posts, etc.), the ban limit has been raised by another eight hours. But that is the final limit.

Dearest members of BaltoSource.
It makes me sad to announce that because of some rather troubling issues, I have had to set my Sentinel to issue a permanent ban to all active members of BaltoSource in order to save space on the forums.
This ban will take effect in 8 hours.

No member is an exception to this!

Allow me to elaborate:
We received some reports that the website diskspace is going to be lowered to the point we will no longer be able to keep an active forum and a website. To combat this, all active members will be permanently banned from BaltoSource until further notice.

We hate doing this as much as you hate having it done to you, but until everything is cleared up, this will be the case.

You will be automatically logged out when the ban incurs.

Yes, plus however long it takes the mods to unban everyone in the first place (but thanks to Lux's bot, it really shouldn't take long to do that). However, we don't know how long it will take to get the site and forums back to normal. We're assuming days but we don't know for sure, could be weeks, and it could be longer if we can't fix the problem.

That said, because this is a diskspace issue, Steet's only option is to clear out the forums and site of old content. If there are any topics you'd want to keep, back them up on your computer by copy and pasting them into a word processor like Microsoft Word. This is a big thing for all those RPers.

Being the lead moderator I know something more about it. As Lux has already said it's a diskspace problem. As you might now right now he's using Timduru's servers, who is his friends and until now he let Steet use the space for a low price, also because he mainly hosted Balto Source, so he didn't need all the space he had. But now he's made a contract with another site (about fursuit I think) which will pay Timduru a lot, that's why Steet has to reduce the total space and bandwith of Balto Source by removing the forums and other parts of the site. But it will only be temporary: Steet's already looking for a new server, and considering the activation time, we should have the forums back in 5 to 15 working days.

However, we cannot guarantee that all the topics will be restored to the new server, especially the longer ones (more than 20 pages).

P.S: This also means that FAN SUBMISSIONS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED, BUT DELETED DURING THE APPROVAL PROCESS TO SAVE SPACE!

I seriously doubt this is a joke no one would make a global annoucement like this unless it was serious so no i don't think Lux is joking

GREAT timing, Lux...

I would love to say this is a joke, unfortunately I can't because it isn't. There have been some major issues with the internal mechanics of the site thanks to the fact that we're running out of diskspace. The issues have gotten so bad that having accounts log in while trying to keep the now incredibly large amount of memory from the forum combined with the dae from the site really messes with the server and increases the damage done overall.
We want to avoid this so the mods have decided as a group that giving permanent bans to everyone is the best way to minimize the damage done to the site.
However, that does not mean you all will stay banned. The mods are keeping track of the usernames, so as soon as Steet unbans the mod accounts after the site and forums are repaired (which could take several of days) and he gives us the Ok, we'll start removing the permanent bans.

Sorry guys, hate to burst your bubble but there's no way around it. We've all been hoping there would some way out of it but it's final.
Not even mod accounts can be saved - everyone gets perma-banned.
