WAAAAAAYYYY to many people trace screenshots and post them as "their drawings" and get like what 80 favs? Half of them are not even colored! Yet the people who TRY to draw and get better have like 2 favs! And honestly, How many people have the SAME EXACT STYLE as the animatiors of "Balto"? and Yet 30 or more people have THE same stlye as Balto animatiors and eachother? WOW! BLEH! STUPID! Who would actualy belilive this crud?!? And here is what would happen if you said somthing to them:

A Person: Ummm those look ALOT like the screenshots from balto, same poses and everything

B person: WELL I DIDDN'T STEAL THEM! HOW COULD YOU ACCUSE ME OF STEALING

A: I diddn't I asked

b: LYKE OMG I'M REPORTING YOU!

A: So you should be reported on!

MOD: You are being warned/banned becasue of accusing him/her

Meanwhile that person is tracing more and getting more and more favs! I don't get why some mods don't stop them! I mean COME ON! they all have the same stlye and draw like Balto animaters? IT SAYS ON THE FANART RULES YOU CAN'T DO THAT! yet people do it anyways and get millions of favs! MODS stop them!

Not Only is it Balto they steal from, It's other artists from the site! They saw "OOWWH WOOK WUT I DIUD CUSE I'M A GUD ARTEST AND I CAN DRUAWL REAWY GUD AND STUFF" And another thing, don't you see a HUGE differnce in the stlye? Balto to other artist then balto again! yet NOPE no bans!

It's been said a lot :
if you have reason to belive a Mod did his/or/her job un-fairly, Report them to Steet or Togo or to a mod you trust.
And for stealing, just report them. I've done it to render theives, their garllery was removed of stolen renders. It works.
If you want to see changes, report them. Talk to an art mod. That is, if you want it to stop.

It is stupid in some sense, this is similar to rendering things. It is in a sense stealing the original image, which is not creative at all. Just as bad as rendering, basically.

But these script-example rants gotta stop.

Oooh, it it just me, or do I detect a hint of jealousy in that first post? :eye:

It isn't your place to say whether one's style of drawing is "good enough" to be accepted by others; especially since you can't speak for everyone who also might think otherwise. While I can agree that it's a style looked down and frowned upon, it shouldn't be something you go around slandering so coldly. Why? Because everyone has to start SOMEWHERE...

The techniques you're attacking now are actually ones I've used myself to teach myself how to "draw" in the first place. I copied screenshots from movies and cartoons because I couldn't start with a picture in my head and transpose it to paper worth jack squat. This is how I began; copying screenshots is a sort of "crutch" people use when they're either just learning, or they need a little reference help [In most cases, anyway.].

In a sense, I suppose I can sum up my post by saying you ought to concentrate more on bringing up your own methods instead of just knocking down others'. Because how "good" an "artist" is is not based solely on the number of favorites they have. Keep that in mind.

And also, you might benefit a little from actually bringing up valid arguments instead of shouting half the time. We may be on the internet, but that doesn't mean we can't act civil now, can it?

Steet is too busy to take care of these problems right now. He will just reply telling you to tell it to me. :P

Ah, sorry, I didn't know about that.

I agree Zash, I HATE when some people have 20 + faves, yet, when they draw in their real style, it TOTALY stinks, here are some pics I did about this that made me feel better ^^: http://baltosource.timduru.org/art/stre ... play=10000 and http://baltosource.timduru.org/art/stre ... play=10000

I doubt anyone that posted on this topic, is one of them.

Yep, giving critique on someone's artwork is being a troll. THAT MAKES SO MUCH SENSE.

Actually, there is NO bad or good. As they say, 'beauty is in the eye of the beholder.' Some people love a certain style, some hate it. So, if you don't like someone's art, don't be a troll and lecture them about how they could be 'better.' Work on your own style, and eventually you'll have fans of your own. That's just how it works.

I have to dis-agree somewhat, i'm not saying all new art is bad the ones that people put with no effort, did in a few minutes, those tend to be....a little, sloppy?
I mean : Drawing is good, every one's art is diffrent, but you shouldn't make some drawing in 5 seconds and expect it to be great.
