Some people ask me how I make the drawing look like this:
http://baltosource.timduru.org/art/no/2 ... play=10000 Using GIMP and Paint so I'll show you with this tutorial. [ Its my frist one so go easy on me xD]
Paint is on everyone's computer but to get GIMP just go to Steet's topic and download it there:

Alright so frist you have to sketch out your drawing on paint.

I normally use the light blue colour so then you can ink it in black on GIMP.
When your done sketching you should have it all sketched out.

Next, Open up GIMP and open your file and get your sketch.

Now what you want to do is Ink right? So lemme show you how.
First go to Dialogues at the top, and go to layers.

When you click layers, your going to get a box and click the new layer button.

After that your going to get a new layer on top of the background layer. Your going to click ''New layer'' to ink.

Now to ink your going to need to click the
Pencil not the Pen. If you ink in the pen it will make it harder to colour.

Now your going to pick your pen to ink with.I usually pick the tinest one, but that's up to you.

When your done inking it should look like this:

Right. Now you want to remove the blue lines. So you have to go back to your layers box.

Now you delete the background.

Now it will look like this.

Now you have to fill it all in white so you can add your character's markings. I prefer to colour in paint then GIMP because its easier.

Now click every spot that has the grey squares. Make sure you
Dont miss any spots. or it wont show on paint.
It should look like this:

Now you can leave GIMP and go to paint. Make sure you
save it.
When you open paint, you going to colour in your character. So open up another paint and get a picture (or ref) of your character. Then you copy his/her's colours onto your main drawing.

Now colour him/her in.

Now that your done colouring your char in, you can go back to GIMP to add the
backgroundWhen your on GIMP open up your coloured drawing. Now click the
magic wand.

Click into the background.

Now you can pick any picture of your choise for your background but make sure you
ask the owner or add refence if take from Google Images. Make sure your image is the right size. If ti appears to big or too small choose another. But if your image is too small you can always make it bigger on paint. [It wont look nice pixelated though]
You can always draw in your background but you know me, Im a lazy fart.
Now that you have picked your image, you will go back to your drawing and
Right Click into the blank space then go to
Edit then to
Paste into. NOT PASTE.

You should get this. Now that that si done, you might still have some blank spaces like shown below. Just do the same process you did to fill the other space.
Magic wand> Right click> Edit> Paste into.

Now that's done you may get some lines on the top and bottom if your image was slighty not big enough. That doesnt matter. To fix that, you can save the picture on GIMP and then go to paint.

Now Im going to fill the lines, Black.
Or you can go to the blue dot in the corner of the picture and remove the white lines.

Now save it and your done.
Note: Your picture will always look better if its saved to PNG. Avoid JPEG.
And there you go! Hope this helped. xD
