Twilight vs Harry Potter

I dont know if a topic like this has been posted before, but here it goes anyway...

Which do you like better? Twilight or Harry Potter?

This goes for the movies too by the way!

I like the Harry Potter movies better than the Twilight movie(*gag*), but the Twilight books better than the HP books(takes too long to read. Too many details x3).

Seriously. What compels you people compare Twilight and Harry Potter? Is it because that the actor that plays Cedric was the one who played Edward? Is there really even a logical reason? Harry Potter and Twilight are nothing alike. Comparing the two is like comparing your favorite fruit with your favorite veggie - illogical.

Some of that may be true, but in general you can always find similarities between any two objects in some mannor or another. For instance, though Twilight centers around the lives of vampires and HP around wizzzards and other such fantastical creatures, 1) both are from the same genre of books (fansasy, more specifically creature fantasy) and 2) they both revolve around the lives of mythical forms of human beings i.e, (ballparking it) Harry can manipulate magic, therefore making him 'sub-human', while Edward Cullen is...well, a vampire, also qualifying him as 'sub-human'. Not the most generic way of approaching the comparison, but you must admitt certain consistancys.

Yes, and also, I found the similarity of the fact that Twilight is a sensation that is or was (however you want to call it... but I call it is) just as popular as Harry Potter was and probably may still be. Thats another reason I wanted to compare it. And a lot of people compare it because of that reason too. Thanks WWM for pointing out some other similarities. ^^

I hate Twilight- It apears to be a stupid poser's fantasy of what vampyres SHOULD be but I don't think they would be anything like that. I am not a HUGE fan of Harry Potter but I will definately choose it over Twilight.

Harry Potter no doubt about it.
It's much more enjoyable than Twilight for me.
Twilight, ...er, is not good for me, I personally think it copyied off another book, too many alike details for me.
So I vote Harry Potter.

I voted Neither, if there's one thing I hate more than Harry Potter it would be Twlight i would explain my reasons but I know I'll just get flamed so I'll keep it at my vote.
