by this topic I do not mean sexual or extreme violence, I mean that they can have serious issues that could allow this show to be viewed by more mature audiences. such as maybe a death in Nome? I was thinking this when I saw Steele fall off the cliff at one point in the movie, hit a lot of rocks than get back up and walk away. I understand that this is a family movie but I would prefer a little more of a realistic, like he dies at that point. I mean the Lion King had a death and a little violence in it that allowed some maturity to be in it.

It's a movie geared towards children, as JC pointed out. Why should they be more realistic?

Besides, although it is geared towards children, I've seen mature adults watch this movie (with their kids, though) without any problem. They realize that the scene you pointed out is not realistic, but most film critics would argue that Steele dying right then would not have allowed for important parts happening later on in the movie, like Jenna realizing that Balto is still alive.

I, too, don't see much of a point in this topic. Besides, the only reason why the Lion King had a death in it was to add to the storyline (which, as a matter of fact, is loosely based on Hamlet! But I digress...) Killing off Steele for the sake of realism wouldn't have done anything to help the movie along. It would have largely detracted from it. And yes, some people did die of diphtheria before Balto got to Nome, but what purpose would showing people die of diphtheria have served in the movie?

Again, this has little point to it. Topic Locked.

(XD Lux beat me to it)
