Lou yawned. She was in her new home, owned by the local doctor. Lou stood slowly as she was still a little sore from being in a fight with Cully. The husky was much more aggressive and larger than she was. Lou sighed before she went to the large window. She put her paws on the sill as she watched the sun.
She enjoyed watching the sun rise and set. It relaxed her and made her wonder. "Good morning girl." Lou turned her head to see her master, Mr. Jenkins. The middle aged man knelt and she trotted closer to him. He stroked the top of her head as she nuzzled his other head. "What do you think about the sun Sadie girl?" Lou wasn't used to being called Sadie but how was he suppose to know her given name was Lou. The man looked out the window then his brow furrowed. Lou cocked her head. What did he see?

"What has that dog been getting into?" Mr. Jenkins spoke to himself as he grabbed his coat. Lou whimpered. "Yes Sadie you can come to." Lou was curious about the dog her owner was speaking of. He opened the door and she trotted down the steps. It was good thing that Mr. Jenkins lived so close to his office. He approached the office, keys in hand. He looked at Ms. Sweike worried expression. "How's Cartlon this morning?" He asked as he unlocked his office door and let her in. Lou watched "Cartlon" before following into the office. Mr. Jenkins led them to the back room where he had his examining table.

Dr. Jenkins sighed as he listened. He looked closely at the torn ear. It might need stitches then there was a chance that it would heal by itself but that chance was smaller. The cut under his eye wasn't too bad, it would heal fine. Dr. Jenkins felt each limb of Storm. When Storm whimpered, he sighed. Dr. Jenkins stood back up again. "The front leg is the worse and badly bruised. The cut under his eye should heal fine. I'm debating whether to do some stitches on the ear or not."
Lou sighed as she looked at Storm, she wanted to say hello and ask what happened. She whimpered before walking a little closer. Dr. Jenkins raised his head and spoke, "No Sadie. Cartlon can't get excited. He needs rest, not play." Lou lowered her ears.
"He might need to stay the night if I do stitches so I can see if he tries to mess with them."

Lou sat herself by the door. "Well Ms. Sweike do you want me to get some stitches on his ear? It would cost more though. Staying the night would be able for me to watch him and make sure his leg gets better." Dr. Jenkins looked at Storm's ear as he stroked it carefully. It wasn't bad but it still worried him if it would heal on it's own.

"No. Pay after he's done. Hopefully when he's out of here, he'll stay out of trouble." Dr. Jenkins spoke. Lou waited outside the door listening. Even if not her, she hated seeing someone getting hurt. As Ms. Sweike came out of the door, Lou raised her head. Dr. Jenkins followed her into the waiting area. "I don't have any appointments until later so I'll start on him right away."

"I'll give you a call when he's out of the surgery room and in the kennel." He spoke. He looked over to Lou before kneeling down. Lou approached him and nuzzled his hand again. He sighed. "Go on and play Sadie. I'll be busy." He got up after giving her another pat on the head. She would have growled out of annoyance. I could have figured out that fact just listening.

Lou was about to exit through the back screen door when she heard "Cartlon" howling. She lifted her head and listened. She wish she could help him but she didn't know how she could help him. Lou sighed.
"It's okay boy." Dr. Jenkins went to Storm slowly as not to add to his fear.
Lou backed away from the light weight door and let it closed in front of her. She walked quietly through the hall that led to the lobby where Storm and her owner were. She stood rigid, ears forward and eyes alert for any sign. If I help him escape then he would just land himself back in here the next day whatever keeps happening to him. Lou growled at her own thought.

Lou didn't even realize what she was about to do though she realized it afterwards. "Carlton! This way!" She barked to get his attention. The sleek husky turned on her heels and trotted briskly back to the screen door.
