Your off to a good start. You should make more parts of the body move.

The new one is better than the top ones. I'm no expert an animations but for the running animation I think it would look better if the head and the body didn't move up and down at the time. Dogs heads normally flow and bobb up and down seperatly than the body. Other than that, its good!

I agree with the ones above me. And maybe add a little more motion to the paws themselves.

Like the others said you need to add more frames in between the 'start' and 'end' frame of the animation. It's best to fit as many in as possible to make it look smoother and more professional. Not only is this impressive to those around you, but I promise you will feel like you've accomplished something and enjoy watching your own animations when it's done. The extra effort with frames is well worth it. I also notice you said that they are choppy due to Lunapic. Lunapic is a good and simple animation program for beginners and I find it is very easy to use. I'm even using it to put together the scenes for my 2D animated short. it's all down to how much effort and time you put into the animation. However if you mean it is choppy because of the default one-second pause between frames there's a simple solution. Change the time gap to 0.1 or 0.01 and it will run quicker. As for the running one, the head should move more and the legs shouldn't be right next to each other. (That's the best way I can describe it.) One leg should be in front of the other. Here's a rough running cycle by me. It's far from perfect and there isn't any detail since I'm just using it as a basis for a more complicated animation. But it shows you how the head would move and the legs don't move in the same way. (It also has a shrinking head and a few missing frames. XD Oh well. It's unfinished. Oh and you should get some run cycle ref's off the net, don't ref from mine. There's lots wrong with it too.) BIG FILE. Sorry. D: I hope this has been helpful. Like I said I'm working on an animated short and I'm under the guidance of some more experienced animators at the moment, so if you have any problems feel free to ask me and I'll try my best to help.
