Kodi is Dead
This RP is going to be based on mine and Aniu's rp we did a little under a year ago, Why Can't I Stop Thinking About Her?
In it, Kodi had been brutally beaten by a vicious group of wolves or dogs. Kodi never was able to find out, he was taken down, three to one. The extent of his wounds ran all the way from open cuts and swelling to a broken AND dislocated leg as well as a few broken ribs and three of them(all on the same side) had punctured his lung. Furtunatley for him, Dusty was out and came across his body and immediatly rushed him to the hospital where he was put into operation almost instantly.
After the operation, Kodi and Dusty are allowed to together and while they were in that room all alone, they began to realize their love for one another. However, tragically, Kodi is given a second shot that, regretably, was a lethal injection to put him down. The reasons for this were he would only have use of one lung and that one was damaged as well. THe lack and inability to get enough oxygen would have become too much for his body to take and steadily his body would shut down until his heart finally stopped.
The RP ended right after Kodi had been brough home and the horribly tragedy that had happened to him was told to his family.
After alot of consideration and thinking, i finally decided to run this by Aniu. There's still alot of potential story left to be told. What happened to Kodi was just the first part in a long story. In this one, the main focus will be on Dusty and how she's managing to get along with the terrible loss she's suffered and how the team copes without they're strongest runner.
As an effort on the parents part to cheer their kids up, they get a new pet. A black and gray female husky who goes by the name of Leah.
This story is going to take place one week after Kodi died.
Aniu is going to continue her part as Dusty, I dunno if she want's to play anyone else however.
I'm going to be playing Leah.

Personality (need to have at least 3 sentences): Dreadfully witty once she gets her groove going, though she is nice - sort of. One could quickly say she is an opportunist; she is nice when she needs to be - especially when she can earn profit on it - and quite rude once she finds it for good to be. She has a few problems regardless; she instinctively - more than often - punts things that she finds annoying, if they are smaller than her. Easily agitated, but not necessarily angered - patience is a virtue for her, even though her behaviour at times might contradict her own aims.
History: Little to say, really. TL;DR version: She was born, got separated from her parents, got adopted by humans who later moved to Nome, Alaska.

She's really easy to get along with, which can lead to the impression that she's a flirt with males. Aiyana heart is veery tender and she loves her family dearly, and for others who are not her family either. She can be very stubburn though, and hard to compromise with. Aiyana loves to run, but she has never gone after the desire, feeling that her brothers may be offended that yet another of the family had entered the sled degree. History: Born in Berlin and served the Germans in WWI, left after nearly losing his leg in an artillery assault. Jumped on a American ship and was taken to Anchorage, he walked to Nome and has been there ever since.
Scars, Markings, Extras and/or Accessories: He has a bad limp on his left front leg from a shrapnel wound. Some of it is still there
Friends/Family: No living family and no friends in Alaska.
Crush/Interest: None
Personality (need to have at least 3 sentences): He may be old, but he's just as fiery and spunky as ever. All he really wants is just to live out the rest of his days in peace. Many of the strays in Nome look up to him, but he is not proud of his past at all. He speaks both German and English fluently but sometimes they cut each other off in a sentence.

(OOC: I wasn't sure how long this would be set after Kodi's death. If it should be longer/shorter, I'll edit the post)
Dusty lay listless on the wooden floor boards of a small cottage in town. Her once bright blue eyes almost seemed to have taken on a glaze as of late, and this appearance was only added to by the fact that she would stare at nothing, barely even bothering to blink. She'd been almost comatose like this since that horrible morning when the doctors had euthanized Kodi. After she'd left Kodi's house that fateful night, she'd ran until her legs burned and ached, until her breath came ragged, both from the effort and from her intense sobbing. But despite the pain, she didn't stop for hours. Eventually, she passed out from the strain. Kirby and Ralph had found her the next day, collapsed on the beach with the waves rolling in against her limp body.
Ever since then, when they'd brought her home to their master, she hadn't moved and any meals had to be either forcefed to her or thrown away. Her willpower to eat, to run, to socialize with the others, all of it just seemed to have vanished. Sure, the others had taken it hard, but none quite as hard as she had. Kirby and Ralph occasionally tried to cheer her up, but their efforts were never rewarded. And even though they tried to brighten her mood, they still weren't sure why she'd literally broken down. Only Balto knew of the short-lived relationship that had finally developed between the two teammates.
The worst thing about Dusty's inactivity was that she was pretty much the last person to have spoken to Kodi. Sure, his father had been with him, and Max had, for a little bit. But Dusty had found him, rescued him, and then watched him die. She and Balto were the only ones who knew the truth in its entirety about what had happened to Kodi. But because of her abscence, she had no idea about the accusations that had been placed on Saba, or even what the rest of the town was thinking. It seemed no one in the town really knew what to think about Kodi's death, and Dusty's devestation and solitude only seemed to be making their suspicions worse. After all, why else might she refuse to move unless she feared retribution from Saba?
Ralph padded quietly up to Dusty, a meek smile on his face. "Hey, Dusty. Wanna go chase some geese? I hear they give you a real test of your skills. Come on, you haven't moved a muscle in weeks!" But when, as usual, she didn't bother to answer, he frowned and sighed. "You can't just sit there and watch your life pass by. Do you think he'd want you to waste away like this?" Without waiting for a response, he turned on his heel and padded outside.
But something in Dusty's mind seemed to have clicked when Ralph had mentioned Kodi. The wheels began turning and thoughts slowly began to trickle out of her mind after what felt to it like centuries of emptyness. 'Kodi...' A pang of despair swept over her and though she didn't move, her eyes began to water. 'No...there's no point...waste away...he'd want you...' The thoughts were fragmented and they carried little meaning that even she could decipher. But even despite this, the tears began to stream down her face again, as her mind slowly began to wake from its daze and the grief fell on her full blast once more.
An hour or so later, Dusty shuffled up the street slowly, stumbling a little as she tried to move forward. But it wasn't so much her desire to move that was making her as it was Ralph's and Kriby's bodies holding her up on her feet. As she stumbled, they moved with her, catching her back on her paws and continuing like nothing had happened. The two had finally gotten fed up enough that they'd forced her onto her feet and decided to take her out for some fresh air. Perhaps that would help speed her recovery from the depression that had been brought on after Kodi's sudden passing?
Of course, that isn't to say that Kirby and Ralph weren't devastated too. They'd loved Kodi like a brother, and to have him gone felt a little surreal. He'd always encouraged them to try their hardest. But Dusty was acting like she'd lost her mate. They had never really been that involved romantically, had they?
"There we go Dusty, see? The fresh air is making you stronger. Kodi wouldn't want us to just sit around like bumps on a log. We miss him too, but we can't let that stop us from living," Kirby said.
Dusty's thoughts, however, were still extremely fragmented, and though they were slowly becoming whole, she was so out of it that she only registered pieces of what Kirby had said. "...miss...stop living..." The fragment came out in a hoarse voice that was barely over a whisper, but Ralph heard it. Immediately he stopped and looked to Kirby. "I think this is more serious than we thought. There's something really wrong with her. Maybe we should take her to see a vet?"
But Kirby shook his head. "Not yet. I think maybe we can shake her out of this ourselves. Maybe seeing some old friends will help her. Let's get her to the boiler room where it's nice and warm and maybe the company of the other dogs will wake up her mind. If she doesn't respond to that after a while, then we'll take her to a vet."
Ralph sighed but nodded and they continued trudging down the streets. Dusty's thoughts continued to jumble, clear, then jumble themselves again. Deep inside, the fog that had protected her from tears was returning. She knew that there was something wrong with this situation, but she had no idea what it was. All she knew was that she wanted to curl up and hide, and for some reason or another, Kirby and Ralph weren't letting her. But she had no willpower to stop it, and so on they went, until they reached the boiler room and sat her down on a cushion. Only a few dogs were there right then, but the ones who were gasped when they saw Dusty and a few slipped out to gossip about her appearance in public.
