Of course some people know what Unnecessary Roughness means on a football field. But on Animation Source and the two main sites it means; Flamers, Spammers, Rude Users, etc. I know that only Administrators, Moderators, and Special User's have like a "power" over the site and can prevent these people from doing these things. I'm not sure if this goes into the Suggestions section OR the Rant section. But this topic is mostly both. I'm setting this topic into TWO sections so that if a Mod or somebody wants to split it or post half of it in the Suggestions section they can. Here we go;

Rant Portion Of This Topic

Here is the Rant part of my post and I would like most users of Animation Source to remember this and take some of it to heart and spread it to other people who show Unnecessary Roughness.

Flammers, Spammers, Rude Users, Etc.

You all might know what these are and how they work. Flammers are Angry Users; Spammers are Random Talking users; Rude People are...well..Rude People. I've seen these people swarming ALL OVER the site and dodge the mod's eyes. I have seen people flame others over an AVATAR. They actually harass the users by saying, You STOLE that avvie from blahblah.com! You stealer! I hate you because you steal other people's art! I know this is OK only if the people actually DID steal it. But for people who DIDN'T steal it wonder why Animation Source allow these people to talk like this. Of course we don't but that is what some people think.

But this rant also asks other people to look in on this and report people who Flame, Spam, and Harass other users. Bow this wraps up the Rant Portion with a reminder; FOLLOW THE RULES; like some people on the site don't.

Suggestion Portion Of This Topic

This is the suggestion part and I want some people to think about this. I actually think it is a good idea for keeping Animation Source, TLK Source, and Balto Source a clean and friendly site.

Trackers

Okay, I know that we have Spam Hunters and that covers up the worrying about Spammers. But I have the idea that we create Trackers. Trackers will be users (Whom are selected by Mods and Admins) who look around the site for people who Flame, Spam, Harass, etc. I know the mod's are used for that but they probably don't have enough time to look at 60 different topics everyday AND moderate the forum. These will be people who are NOT moderator's just volunteers for helping the site.

---

Remember to report ALL of these bad posts and users to the mods so we can keep the site clean. I'm not a mod, but this is just a request from me and other people who agree.

Well, the "report" button to the right of each post essentially makes everybody a tracker, as you described. If there was a tracker group implemented, I myself can't really see what they could do that another user couldn't since we have the report button. The mods still couldn't take care of the problem until they were online.

It would be a step to more regulation if the report feature wasn't already in place. Though, honestly, I'm glad we don't have a tracker group because some of the people would act like some of the webrankers do now. They would think that they had some unwritten power over the public and act surprised if others tell them that they do not.

The idea for the "Tracker" was for people who have the time to actually look for the people who do these things. The report button is useful for other people but the Trackers could be the ones who actually go around and look at all the topics and report the people who do that. Most people don't have the time to do that and the Trackers could just get it all over with and make the job a lot easier for the mod's to moderate the forum if it wasn't full of these posts and users.

I understand, however giving everyone the ability to report an infringement of rules covers most of the forum already. Don't get me wrong, it's a good suggestion in itself, but the mods plus the report feature probably have it under control. The existing user groups on this site are well defined(except webrankers), but trackers would fit into a gray area, and likely would be questioned by others if they really are doing anything or not. Maybe you could think of something that would set trackers apart from the other member groups. Based on how you described trackers, it is basically a job that the mods and members are already working together on.

Pretty much what Ghost-Unit said.

The report button takes care of that really, anyone who sees something that is against the rules is encouraged to use the report button and tell us.
A lot of these people still 'escaping our sight' is from people not bothering to report it, thus making it difficult for us to find it especially if it's happened in the shoutbox or somewhere comments get buried pretty quickly by other comments.

Steet's also said he plans for every section of the site to have a "report" button making it very easy for people to take a minute and report something.
