Okay, usually, I don't love a certain band or artist.
I just love songs. Usually.

But Angels and Airwaves ... I've just completely fallen inlove with.
All their songs are incredible. The music completely blows me away, and the lyrics are always so powerful and inspirational.

The Adventure was the very first song I heard from them, and it's my most favourite song. It's incredible.

Download the songs. Buy the albums. It's unlike anything you've ever heard before.

A few more amazing songs by them~

Everything's Magic
Start The Machine
True Love

I told you they were amazing.

Anyone else love this band?
Or anyone JUSt fallen inlove with it after watching those? xD

Cheers,
Rebel™ ~ <3

Yes! Another AVA fan!

This band is AWESOME! I did make a topic about them once, but that was, like, two years ago, so I'm OK with this one! ^^

I personally like all of their songs, honestly. Their music (especially the music from their first album "We Don't Need to Whisper") is the kind that's got a hugely meditative feel to it. They really have created, like a number of critics have said, a style of music that is truly their own. Their use of the keyboard, percussion, and SFX (such as in "Valkyrie Missile" "The War" "Start the Machine" and "Star of Bethlehem") is what I like the best about them. It's the kind of stuff that really does put images into your mind. I love that, and this is the only rock band that does that for me. It's a band that you'll definitely like if you're into the electronica genre (like I am).

Keep believing in the message, Rebel! (*cough Valkyrie Missile reference cough*) XD

Some of my favorite songs include:

Valkyrie Missile
The Adventure
A Little's Enough
It Hurts
Good Day
Start the Machine
Call to Arms
Everything's Magic
Secret Crowds
Star of Bethlehem
True Love
Rite of Spring
Heaven

I fell victim to Swords and his like for the angels. Now I have both of the CDs. XD

My favorite album was the one I bought first: I-Empire.
All of their songs are great! But my favorite song of them all is Everything's Magic.

Talk to Swords for a bit and you'll find yourself at the store with an AVA CD in hand. XD

Heh, I'm listening to 'Good Day' right now. AVA are essential in my iTunes list now. :P

Thanks for the replies, guys. <3 Good to know there's more Angels & Airwaves fans out there. I think the band definetely need and deserve more attention. And yes Becky, you DO need to do more listening. Their songs are incredible, you won't regret it. <3

Secret Crowds ... HOW could I forget that one?? That's one of my faves - even though choosing a favourite AVA song is incredibly difficult. They're all so good! 'True Love' is the one I listen to the most though atm. The lyrics and music are SO amazing.

I usually hate long music introductions - but AVA's music introductions are fantastic. Such brilliant music which keeps getting more exciting as the tempo changes. What I also love is how you're never really sure of exactly what some of the songs are about. A lot of them seem to involve nature (fields and snow, for example) and love. 'Start The Machine' ... I have no idea what it's about, but it's still amazing. The xylophone at the beginning is just wonderful.

... YAY. 'The Adventure' just started playing on my iTunes. ^__^ My fave ~ <333

I just read on Wikipedia that they're working on their next album, supposed to be released in 2010 or so, with, might I add, their feature film called "I-Empire." Or so they say. The band says that they want their next album to coincide with the release of the film, which should be cool!

And BTW, it's not a xylophone. I don't know exactly what it is, but I read somewhere that it's some sort of toy piano that Tom DeLonge (the lead singer) bought for his daughter. But, I dunno for sure. But it is a great instrument, though! Not something you really hear everyday in most bands!

EDIT: Here's something interesting; AVA's Facebook page mentioned that they're in the process of recording their third album, and they've released a clue as to what it'll be. It's pretty vague and not too detailed, but here it is: "compass/ruler"

Wow, a feature film? That's awesome!

oh okay, my bad. xD It sounds like a xylophone, so it's an honest mistake. :P And imo, more bands should use this piano, lol.
I didn't know Tom was a father. that's pretty awesome. awwwww. (:

Yep! And get this, his daughter's name is Ava! That's where he got the idea for the AVA logo.

On an unrelated note, he also has a German Shepherd and a Golden Retriever, as well!

Back to AVA, they released a tiny preview of one of their songs on their Facebook page. If you've got an account there, you can check it out here: http://www.facebook.com/home.php?#/video/video.php?v=1092101433421&ref=mf

Listening to The Adventure, and it's pretty good so far.

I'll give you my full report after I've heard some more.

I just found out the new album title for AVA, is called "Love" and it'll be released on February 14, 2010 at the same time as the live action movie! (well, at least, supposedly. They've been saying their live action movie would come out "soon" for a while... but still, I'm excited to see it!)

Apparently, Tom has been comparing it to Pink Floyd's "The Wall" in the sense that "Love" will be the pinnacle of the band's creativity, artistry, etc. (It's all on Wikipedia's page for AVA, if you want more info.) They've also changed their logo to the file that's attached.

It sounds awesome! Can't wait!

OK... this is huge. Their next album, is going to be FREE! Free download off iTunes and maybe a few other legit download sites. I can't believe this!

Anyways, the album isn't coming out until Valentine's day, but if you want an idea of what it's going to sound like, check out their modlife page! They've got their first single from the album, "Hallucinations" available to download for free!

((EDIT: Scratch that... apparently it was only available for download on Christmas Eve. Still, the rest of the album will be free! ^^ I do wish they could've released a CD version... but it was their decision. I'll still get it. ^^))

Check it out! It's awesome!

All right, guys, the new album, LOVE is out! It can only be downloaded off their website at modlife.com and NOT on iTunes as I previously thought.

Here's a link if you want to download the songs: http://modlife.com/angelsandairwaves/love

All the songs will download in .mp3 format, so don't worry about compatibility issues.

My suggestion is to listen to the entire album, nonstop, at least once. There are some songs that really do blend into the songs that follow them.

My verdict: It's epic! And, I have to say, very, VERY uplifting! So if you're looking to feel good, listen to the first three songs, at least. Those are the most uplifting, IMO.

I think I'll give these guys a try, been hearing great things about the band's drummer in many drum publications. nice that they are just giving away a whole album free like they are. very cool and class act IMO.

Also wow, I did not know Angels and Airwaves was considered of all things as a Progressive Rock band, why didn't I know sooner, had I, I might have given them a chance sooner. very interesting cause I both listen to, enjoy and PLAY in a Progressive Rock band. just wow indeed.
