Now I was thinking about this because I found it interesting on the French side of the site.

I remember (Well, I don't remember) there was V.I.P box on the site, but how about a V.I.P FORUM (or a Private section), where selected members can go have a chat (Without flaime) About things like Politcal and Religous views.

Members would have to request to join the group and steet (Or a group leader) would accept them (or decline them) into the group.

Rules:
  • Politcal and Religous views ARE allowed in the section without Flaime.
  • You have to be atleast a year old member to join.
  • You must be 13 or over.
  • ALL Moderators are automaticly allowed in the group, and have Moderating powers as well as the forum mods.

This is up to you really, I thought it would be a good idea, but you decide ;]

No. Why?

Because of the "Why do they get and not I?"-syndrome.

'Nuff said.

That.

Also, ever wonder why the VIP box disappeared?
All it did was gather endless spam and only offered one extra place for people to carry on an argument.

With the VIP box it was made so that all members who had been registered on the site over 1 year/a year and a half (unsure which) would have access to that box. That really didn't work at all.

So how do you gauge whether someone deserves to be let into this VIP forum?
How do you explain why someone wouldn't be? "Oh sorry, we don't deem you mature enough to be allowed access to this forum". Imagine just how many arguments that will spark aside from the fact it's awfully rude to say that to someone.

That is kind of a pity that it had to go,but also a really very good reason too.

Actually I have added a section like this on the french forums a few months ago, because it has been suggested by french members. It's working fine there.
The thing is, I'm not sure if this would work on the english side. There are a lot more visitors on the english side, and the amount of work to manage "who will be allowed and who won't" would probably be insane.
