Kodiak - Kodiak (Kodi), voiced by Sean Astin, is the son of Balto. He runs the mail for the town of Nome and is really fond of his job. But when a man with an airplane threatens Kodi's place, the people decide to have a race to see who's faster. The airplane, or the dogs. When the team wins, with Balto's help, Kodi chooses not to believe that the Airplane will win sometime. He help's Balto, after a rough argument, to go and find the man who threatened Kodi's place, and they bring him home!
Stella - Stella, voiced by Jean Smart, is the sassy goose who falls in love with Boris. After asking him to fly, she finds out that Boris has been lying to her about a broken wing. She, thinking the problem is herself, locks Boris up in the plane, leaving him when the plane crashed. When she asks Balto where he is, Balto explains the crash. When she finds Boris, she understands his fear of flying. She and him go night swimming under the full moon at the end of the film.
Duke - Duke, voiced by Keith Carradine, is the pilot of the plane; he has recently come to Nome, and think of a way for his plane to make things easier in Nome. His plane crashes in the wilderness and Balto and Kodi set out to find him. When they bring him back, he drops the idea and lets the dogs carry the mail from then on. Until the future that is.
Mel and Dipsy - Mel and Dipsy, voiced by Kathy Najimy and David Paymer, are the two gossip dogs of the town who can relate to the two dogs who are a lot alike them in the first film. Dixie and Slyvie. Mel is a dog who worries too much. Always coming up with ways of how they are late when the mail hasn't arrived at the post office at their usual time. Dipsy is a lot like Banzai, in The Lion King films, she can only think of her stomach and food. You see her eating most of the time in the film.
Kirby, Ralph, and Dusty - Kirby, Ralph, and Dusty, voiced by Carl Weathers, Bill Fagerbakke and Charity James, are the new three dogs who support the trio of the film. They all have more experience as mail dogs, calling Kodi the "Rookie". Dusty is know in some fan fictions to be Kodi's mate, while in others, Kirby and Kodi are mates. The team gets angry with Kodi after wanting to help the man who threatened their place on the mail transportation team.
