A week or so ago, xaqtly left Balto Source due, apparently, to flaming and abuse from othe rmembers of the site. This took from us not only a good friend, but some of the site's most popular stories such as "Balto: Father" and "Balto: Mate."
I don't know who chased xaqtly away. I e-mailed him and he wouldn't tell me either. But I would like very much to see him and his stories come back. Who's with me?

I'm not exactly sure who they are, as I can't recall ever seeing 'em, sorry.

Are you certain that Xaqtly is gone?,because if he,is still on my friend list.

Yeah, I liked reading her all four fanfics, she was chased out due to a legal issue with the Mods, check her fanfic thread.

He left because of an argument spawned from people at first trying to help him about copyright issues, then it just exploded into a huge argument.
I'm pretty sure one of the people he "blames" is me. I won't mention anyone else.

Personally, I think it was a silly reason to leave. :/

From what I've seen (and experienced), Xaqtly left BaltoSource because it was pointed out he was going against federal copyright laws by putting one of his fanfics up for sale (and he does not own copyright to anything but the story. All other items are copyrighted by Universal/Amblin Entertainment and protected by law). He didn't make any profit, true, but putting an item up for sale (even for as little as a penny) is making the legal claim that the item is entirely your original work.

On a personal level, I honestly don't think he was intentionally violating the law, but ended up doing so. However, as the copyright issue was solved initially (by Togo), Xaqtly brought the subject up again by aggrovating one of the parties in the discussion (who had at that point left the discussion to leave Xaqtly alone) and it eventually evolved into an argument about that party, rather than the relevance to the topic.

It ended with my pointing out that the law is against Xaqtly and that he shouldn't have kept pulling the subject up, followed by a temporary topic lock.

When I thought everything was calming down and the topic was ready for being opened again, I did so - only to re-lock it minutes later because I happened to check his Fanfic gallery right after and found it gone.

In all honesty, I miss his fiction - not the person.

People come to BaltoSource and leave BaltoSource every day - if I were to miss every single person that left BaltoSource "for good" (we all know they will be back sooner or later), then I would probably be a neurotically challenged wreck of an insane person locked up tightly in an asylum, babbling like a blooming band of baboons and making apocalyptic drawings on the wall with what resources available.

So yeah, I miss his fiction more than I miss him.

Well, this is encouraging. *sigh*

Yes..I miss him so much!All of the stories made me cry, including Balto:Son....I wish he was back DX

I have great respect for Fan-fiction writers because I know it isn’t easy but the way this person treated members, friends and mods in the argument that erupted was very disrespectful. If they wanted to leave which they did then they only have themselves to blame so I’m sorry but I’m giving out no sympathy on the matter. I personally think the whole ordeal should just be forgotten so we can all move on.

H ei son mine too and I have asked him about it.He said he will be deleting his acount because no one here seems to like him.So if we mesage him, he might change his mind.
