How do you personally think makes the best king?

I said Mufasa.
Ahadi (he's from the short book series, yes?) I have not actually seen in 'royal-action'. Didn't he sort of play favorites w/ his sons?
Scar, obviously, was power-hungry, self-centered, etc... not a suitable king at all, as clearly seen from the movie and how he let the Pridelands become a barren wasteland, then refused to relocate.
Simba was a good king, I suppose, but seemed to try too hard to fill his father's footsteps - and in doing so, let his judgement become clouded & biased (the whole 'Kovu is evil', 'we want nothing to do w/ Outlanders', etc. thing).
Kovu... hasn't technically been king yet, has he?

But anyway, Mufasa was the best king of the group, IMO. He genuinely loved & cared for his family; he held no second thoughts about putting himself in danger to protect the pride; he was fair, and knew that being king meant more than just 'getting your way all the time'. His downfall was that he was too trusting, and failed to see the evil in his brother before it was too late.

I agree w/ you entirely. Mufasa for sure. Some people think he was a 'bully' with the hyenas, but I disagree. In real life ( watched a documentary about this) adult male lions (Mufasa) will go out of their way to kill a hyena pack leader (Shenzi). If you take this into account, Mufasa was more than fair.

I said Simba because *prepares to get hit*...Mufasa failed as king. A lions ONE job is to protect the pride, and Mufasa didn't do very good at that. I know it wasn't his fault but, really, he shouldn't of let Scar stay in the pride if he knew he was endangering his own life, his sons life, and his prides life.

Simba did the right thing keeping an eye on Kovu I'm not sure of Ahadi or Kovu (...yet xD Though I'm sure Kovu will be a great king^^) and Scar deff. was NOT a good king xD

I don't think it makes much sense to put Ahadi and Kovu in the poll since we don't even know if Ahadi is canon nor if Kovu even became king....

Anyways, I choose Mufasa. The only lion that was against him was his brother; Simba had a whole Pride after him. And he really could have dealt with those lionesses better then banishing them to a land *probably* only a couple miles away from the pridelands.




He did the right thing even if he was wrong and caused his daughter to run away?
I don't think banishing Scar would have done any good. Remember Zira?
Besides, Scar was his brother. How could you expect him to leave family to die?

Mufasa is the better king,because he kept the hyenas from entering the Pride Lands,and also he never put other animals in danger,just himself.

Probably Mufasa. He seemed to know exactly how to look after the pridelands and protect his son without being over-protective.

Simba's still a good king though. He's learnt from his past mistakes and is much more responsible as an adult.

Presumingly, Kovu never actually will be a king. Kiara is the royal daughter, so she will become queen and Kovu as her mate will become prince (like Queen Elizabeth's husband, Prince Philip).

Unless of course, you could assume that Kovu, as a male lion, will take over the pridelands after Simba's reign like a lion would in real life. Depends what way you look at it I guess.

just for the record, Ahadi [i]is[i] canon, he was referenced in some of the Disney books

I'd have to say Mufasa, Simba first failed and that's how Scar gained control.

I should go for Mufasa.He was the best king of all...Not overprotective,and not so king-ish like Simba...He's the best!

I said Mufasa. Because he was very wise, and very caring to Simba. He is very 'kingly'.

I think Mohatu, because every other king had a fault:
Ahadi - was mean to Scar
Mufasa - was mean to Scar && the hyenas
Simba - is too protective

Mufasa was that way towards Scar,and The Hyenas because,they tried to kill Simba,and Nala,and Mufasa has to protect every lion/lioness in his pride.
