Good afternoon BaltoSourcers.

I recently decided to try a new shading style, and first tried it out in this drawing. http://baltosource.timduru.org/art/D_Ka ... eb_gall=72 It's pretty much cell shading but taking it further with lots of different highlights and..yeah. XD Anyway, I need more practice, but do you think it's worth it? Should I stick with this style?

I do enjoy cell shading. think it's more challenging than using the burn tool in Photoshop or GIMP, plus it gives a more cartoon like effect =) I just think I'll take it one step further.

And excuse the messy lines and stuff. I was working in Elements 2.0 and I hate that program. >.>

Thanks and critique is welcome on the pic as long as it isn't regarding the neck. XD

It's good you're trying out new methods, and I think you could stick with cell shading but to make it look better (more 3D maybe?), try to smooth the final image (blend the shades together). I can't say much about how you could do that as I don't use these programs but I'm sure you'll find a way.

I think I know what you mean BJ, to make them look a little smoother? I'll give that a try. Thanks! :]
